Otis Series 4/Westinghouse Selectomatic Elevator Tour: Omni CNN Center, Atlanta, GA

These are the famous (but one of the least famous out of Atlanta's Glass Elevators) Westinghouse Selectomatic Mark IV Traction Elevators, and The Otis Series 4 Elevonic 411 and Gen2 Traction Elevators at The Omni Hotel loccated within the CNN Center. This place features the tasllest escalator in the world, but sadly, I didn't get to film and ride it. But hey, these elevators are keyed-off and I managed to make it to the top or almost to the top on all of the elevators. The South Tower opened in 1975, and The North Tower Opened in 2003!

Thanks for sharing this! My father John Carmichael worked for Westinghouse Elevators and worked on this glass elevator project. I was 8 years old in 1975 when they opened the elevators and my father took our family to the grand opening party for those who worked on the project. I still have a couple of the commemorative gifts they gave to my father. One was a wooden letter organizer that had a collage of the hotel, elevators, and escalator engraved in the front of it. I remember being proud of my father and eating tons of food at the party. lol

I have terrible news. I came here today & the Westinghouse senic elevators are being modernized by Kone. 2 cars are original, one is under modernisation, & the other one is turned off. The call buttons are innovation prestige. There’s a set of escalators that got replaced by Kone.
