  • Today we look at the legendary Mountain Dew Baja Blast! This is/was an exclusive flavor available only in Taco Bell soda fountains from 2004-2014 until it made itself a limited edition item on store shelves May 5th 2014.
I have been aware and have drank plenty of cups of Mtn Dew Baja Blastwhile at Taco Bell but I have never tried it from the Bottle. Let’s see if it’s better or worse in this legendary cheat day review!
    Notes:
    Mtn Dew Baja Blast
Official flavor is dew with a blast of natural and artificial tropical lime flavor
After the huge success of a mountain dew flavor variant such as code red, mountain dew released their new flavor baja blast exclusively in taco bell soda fountains in the united states August 2004
This was the first ever soda that was an exclusive collab between a fast food joint and a beverage company
Baja Blast gets its name from the baja state of mexico on the californian peninsula. The flavor was specifically made to pair with taco bells variety of mexican style food and to push more fountain soda sales.
Much like Mountain Dew code red a couple years back, Baja blast was an instant hit and over the next ten years baja blast remained solely available in soda fountains in taco bell locations
May 5th 2014 for a limited time baja blast was released in stores for the first time
And since then from 2014 all the way up to 2024, except for 2017, baja blast was released for a limited time every year
Canada saw its first release of baja blast for a limited time during the summer of 2018 and then by 2019 canadians were the first to have baja blast as a permanent flavor on store shelves
And now, much like on the 10th anniversary it was released in stores, on its 20th anniversary, baja blast in now made as a permanent mountain dew flavor you can buy in stores in the united states as it was released in january 2024.
Now there is some speculation that its gonna be permanent and some have been saying that its juts going to be available for the entire year of 2024
    Fun Facts:
In 2023 for national hot sauce day, a baja blast hot sauce was available to 750 lucky contest winners

That was fire man! Very nice presentation! We never know what the algorithm is going to do but that was a very competitive review. I wouldn't be surprised at all if this hits 1k views.

Thanks man! We shall see, even though I do great research and do my best, the algorithm sometimes overlooks me and sometimes it rewards me. Mostly overlooks, but ya gotta keep rollin and just enjoy what you’re doing 😎🤘🏻

Baja Blast is fine, but nothing special.

I’ve always thought Baja Blast was overrated. Definitely a “meh” soda

Glad I’m not alone with that idea. The bottled version at least does it justice

I've never had it but always assumed it was overrated. It's Mountain Dew. The sweetest soda out there. How can you make it taste like anything else other than sugar?
