Farm Made Air Conditioning for your John Deere Tractor

The men from Old South Barns are up to it again. We farm hay when we're not building barns. This is our verson of making our tractor cooler on those hot summer days. With a few ready parts we have successfully added A/C to our John Deere. This can easily be adapted to any cabbed tractor. There is an update available for the ac pump on that tractor , r6 to sanden style Either from deere or local sourcing . Did one on a 4640 . Would recommended a suction filter adiddion.

How well did the homemade ac work? I have an old 4020 with a cab and it never had ac. It would be nice to have a cheap way to cool or down some

I works great. Sure it does depend on the weather temperature, but there is a clear cooler feeling difference inside the cab. It takes a good insulated cooler to get the job done.
