  • Last year I got a running John Deere X320 lawn tractor for just $150, and on this week's mower flip project I'm going to see if I can fix it up, make it pretty, and sell it for a big profit! This is one of my favorite mower projects I've worked on, and one that I've spent the most time and taken the most care with. I'm thrilled to finally get this beautiful John Deere mower sold!

    Welcome to Garage Story!
    I'm in the business of hunting up old lawn mowers and other small machines, and either parting them out, or fixing them up and selling them for profit. Come along for the ride with my weekly vlogs, and how-to videos.

    The last X320 I had, I bought it for $1600 and sold it for $1500. : D Pretty much any Deere X series less than $500 is a good buy. Nice work!

    Your videos are awesome. Both entertaining and educational. I’ve learned much from you in regard to my Toro ZTR. I’m in the market for a JD X300 series or even an x500 if the price is right.
    Your presentations are “real.” No BS. No arrogance. You don’t hesitate to admit if you were wrong or just don’t know. And your many fans love you for that humility.
    Keep it up!

    Yea I'd rather the mulching kit off, if you don't mow every 5 days or so, grass gets too long and just clogs the deck. Nice deal. The fragile hood reminds me of a Snapper I fixed/sold, I repaired hood cracks, told the guy it was fragile, then he started leaning on it a few minutes later. I was younger so didn't say anything, but his wife luckily reminded him before it did crack again lol

    • @M.TTT.

      @garagestory  3 месяца назад +2

      I don’t know why John Deere made so many mowers with fragile hoods. The rest of the X320 was pretty nice! I usually ran it without the hood while I had it because I didn’t want to damage it by accident.

    Thanks for sharing your stories. I’m enjoying them. You’ve helped me learn some basics and troubleshoot my Husqvarna z246 which I thought had bad coil(s) but ended up being the choke plate melted off its plastic connection to the choke shaft falling into full choke position which is kind of crazy… plastic melts 😅 So now I have no choke but the engine is running wonderfully again. Thanks! Keep after it!

      Is it the plastic intake manifold that melted?

    • @willmegehee
      @willmegehee Год назад +1

      @@garagestory not on this model. The round choke plate that chokes the throat of the carb is metal but is held onto the rotating rod by plastic. I thought it an odd choice of materials. I can remember the choke control knob getting more and more stiff over the last year and then it got real free all of a sudden. I kept thinking there’s no way it just fell off because I was assuming all metal construction based on experience with old Fords… until I took it apart.

      It can be hard sometimes, prices go up and down. When they are down, it’s good for buying, but you can’t sell for a good price. When prices are up, it can be hard to get a good deal, but when you do it’s nice to have the hot market to sell on. Right now (2023) in my area, prices seem to be low which is why I had a hard time selling this mower. The market is great for the average person who just wants a mower for themselves, though!
