  • The fight against infection begins at home! Jason Liles, with Molnlycke Health Care, joins us to show us how we can take an active role in our health care. Germs enter our homes from everywhere: daycare, the gym, the community and more. And germs are getting harder to kill. That’s why it’s crucial to practice proper hand hygiene and to protect yourself, in case you have to head to the hospital. Hospitals have trusted Hibiclens antiseptic soap to fight infection for years now. But did you know that it's safe for you and your children to use at home? Hibiclens kills germs and safely bonds with the skin. It can continue protecting the user for up to 24-hours, after applying it on the body. Tune in and learn more about how to protect your family’s health.

I literally put hibiclens on my face everyday. I personally don’t have sensitive skin at all , and when I put it on my face it literally will kill a full face of acne in a weak no matter what

This is the one product that deserves such advertising.

I've depended on it for the last 11 years. With the current corona nightmare I have been telling everyone to ignore the stupid purell sanitizers and carry a travel sized bottle with them. As it happens, I have supressed immune system. I feel safe.

Am looking at the feasibility of using this, as we can't find hand sanitizers anywhere. So, how do you use this - just pour a little on your hands out of the bottle?

@@Wolf-mx7xx I am SO SORRY missing a notification. It's no different than using liquid soap. No worries on buying too much - it's a great staple. Hope that this message finds you well and managing. Yes, just a dime for kids or mere thin quarter for adults shoul do if pouring out. Just lather up for a couple of minutes (3 times Happy Birthday Song for kids) and rinse off. No regular soap use after. The best most economical way is to use foaming nozzles - often sold together for batch sales or separately by size (16 or 32 oz). One can shower with it, but only thing (as pre- and post- surgery prep) you are told to wash the torso and legs but not 'special parts', lol, night before and morning of surgery. I used it as a spot shampoo for ungraceful runins with tree branches (after doing the normal wSh/conditioning). In a pinch, smeared a drop straight under a bandaid or wrapping when no options to rinse. It's often helped others with cystic acne and rosacea (one of the causes is skin mites). It is meant for sterilizing wound care, so post op is 👍 a must for first aid kits, endless uses. We even washed a doggo's cut ear, rinsing well. He was fine. Yes, I do use it on my face. Always carry a 6oz travel bottle just in case. Example, last week ventured out and saw a six year old fumble off a curb landing on her hands and knees, badly skinning her knee w/a bit of blood and some bits of glass and gravel. Not a happy kiddo and no pharmacy around. It's second nature for me that any manners go out the window (OCD autopilot) and rudely barged over (at least had a face mask on). Told her mother to ignore 'crazy woman alert' and we let her wash her hands and knees right there on the parking lot, rinsed with my unsweetened iced tea. (Hey, tanins can't hurt). Slapped a no stick jumbo bandaid on 4 places. All good. A friend puts a bit of glitter to the foam and kids call it fairy wonder soap. I use a sponge to collect extra foam and wipe down door knobs/surfaces. As a chronic lyme sufferer in remission, I also use a small dab to brush my teeth daily. Why? Because spirochetes for Borellia get everywhere including between gum tissue and teeth (even inside teeth/bones) and often make combo colonies. Antibiotics CAN NOT get to that. I COUNT on this as a bit of middle finger to them. An absolute must post op. I stalk Amazon for best deals on large bottles 16, 32 ot a gallon. Watch out for price gouging. Cheers!

I discovered Hibiclens when isopropyl alcohol became scarce earlier this year. I used to use some alcohol on my hands, then wash with soap. I have OCD, too, and I just can't use 'only' soap (even antibacterial soap), there has to be something better, stronger first. So I found this stuff that surgeons use, and I'm like, GODSEND! It was great for a while, I read where it was not supposed to irritate your skin. Unfortunately, my skin can't read.
After months of using it, my hands & lower arms are completely wrecked. I have large sores/welts(I really don't know what they are) all over my hands, wrists & arms (where I use it the most). It makes me itch so badly, I can't help but scratch till it bleeds, then oozes clear stuff for a half hour after washing my hands. I even got *holes* that formed between my fingers (one on each hand), they've finally healed back over, and I'm desperately trying to prevent more from forming. I've tried every kind of cream for them (hydrocortisone, Benadryl, silver gel, Vaseline healing cream, calamine lotion), with varying levels of success. At this point, I'm almost resigned to this just being the way my hands are going to be now, and it's about treating the symptoms, trying to stop the horrid itching (and I'm very careful to rinse very well, rubbing my hands for several seconds, to make sure it's all gone...well, 'cept for the stuff that stays on to go on killing), but they look like a horror show. At this point, I don't even know what could work, since nothing can stay on my hands more than a few hours at a time (hand washing being necessary for bathroom going to). The places can also hurt to where I can't sleep, and burn to where I can't even feel an ice pack laying on them.
My point is, please don't assume you can use this a lot, and on an ongoing basis, because, while I know my skin is weird, I can't be the only one who's reacted negatively to its ongoing usage.
also, someone commented on another video about Hibiclens, that sometimes it is SOOOOOOO annoying, the way is *just*…*won't*...lather!! happens to me, too, all the time (I don't use that type of pump, I have it in a hands-free dispenser)
      rant over, thanks for reading
