- With the new volume having come out, and a new intro theme being premiered, I decided to Rise to the occasion and make a lyric video. Eh? EH?..... I'll show myself out now. Anyways, for the many people that don't know, I get the lyrics straight from Jeff Williams himself, so you can count on my videos always having the 100% accurate lyrics.

A lot of people are trying to correct me on these lyrics, so I'm just going to go ahead and reiterate what I've stated many times in the past.
1) The lyrics that you see in the CC of the original video ruclips.net/video/SPc7OLVc_Yk/видео.html is not accurate. The lyrics in the captions are put in by random users, not RT themselves. Just look at the description of that video and you'll see random usernames.
2) I get the lyrics from Jeff Williams.

have you heard the mini bass fill before the chorus? it's subtle but it's effective and yeah i agree, Jeff and Alex rule when it comes to doing guitar riffs like these!
There's always one lyric that stands out in the opening.

I think lighting means young and ambitious like in the v1 intro they say straying from thunder miracles of ancient wonder. Thunder might mean old its loud and lasts but lightning is quick and rebilous rare like lightning in a bottle also willow line is used when ozpin shows up or someone else in the shows flower is a willow. Sparrow means teamwork so theres that.

Wyatt Tingle I've always found it funny that the soundtrack from an animated series has more compelling, symbolic, and meaningful lyrics than most (if not all) mainstream music. At least, that's just the way I see it.
I'm so happy you've already made a lyric video for this! It was hard to understand Casey for me at some points.

Oh, they must've added subtitles recently. I watched Red vs. Blue sometime within the last two weeks and captions weren't available yet. Good to see they were added in time for RWBY's volume premiere.
EDIT: Ah, they're just not available for RvB. Oh well.

The only part that I couldn't really understand was literally the first two or so lines of the song. Everything else I was able to understand fairly well.
"Rising" is a contrast to "When it Falls"

This is unrelated to the song, but can we take time to acknowledge that in the opening, we see Weiss actually playing with Ruby and laughing, and she also was lifting her up to stand.
Comparing their relationship to how it is now and what it was at the beginning of volume 1 makes me realize that their relationship has progressed very, very far.

"The mountains tower" = Weiss, determined stubborn and grounded in ancestry
"The river knows to reach the sea" = Blake, takes many curves and loops on the way but nevertheless is always heading towards her righteous goals
"The rain will help the flowers be" = Yang, stormy yet supportive of brightness and miss Rose's path
"The lightning doesn't take advice from anyone" = Salem, destructive and always thinks she's right
"The willow doesn't need to learn to stand" = Oz, quiet strength with the perspective of a very old tree (also, willow is a great choice of tree because its branch tips have a lot of growth potential for rooting and sprouting new trunks)

So I've noticed that in the volume 1 song "This Will Be The Day" they sing "We are lightning" and in this they say "Lightning doesn't take advice from anyone" and it's kinda true with the two combined teams

Anyone else with this being the best opening of RWBY thus far? Hopefully it captures the feeling that volume 6 is going for. Though thus far the opening that captures the feeling of the volume thus far is Volume 3.

Probably because of the simplicity in its lyrics, I think this is such a good song. It gets the ideas of itself across quite easily and the music itself is beautifully cool. Good job as always.

I don’t know if this is just me, but my friend pointed it out that the guitar at the beginning sounds like the Lab Rats theme from the Disney XD show. Probably just me
I think it’s just because there’s something a little more Anime about this one than they have been - it felt like something I’ve heard from a show like Soul Eater or similar
It's curious how after an opening about a reinvigorated willingness to fight, we go with one that feels more reserved and less confrontational, yet talking about trust in what we can do.
This season's main theme was the regrets of the elderly, how people that preceeded the protagonists are responsible for the way the world currently is and the guilt of not being able to avert it, their insufficiency in providing the next generation for the means to obtain a final victory that they never learned how to grasp, and the frustration of seeing everything fall apart after a whole life of dedication to a cause. So, this is no longer about being up to the task of fighting the evils of this era, but about solving a crisis that has affected the planet since the conception of it's current state, and for that they need to become better than their idols, at least for the sake of those who succeed them, without ever flinching in the idea that the dream can be attained because otherwise they wouldn't be able to dream it.
It says rising like the moon..and the moon has always like been somewhere in rwby. It could play an important part..

The song itself took me 2-3 listens to grow on me but the fucking sweet ass guitar riff got me right from the get go
