The XTERN AFO is Game Changer solution for peoples afflicted by foot drop.
It’s unique patented design acts as an exoskeleton to the impaired limb and provides the user with unparalleled levels of function without discomfort or rubbing.
This dorsiflextion assistance device controls foot drop and doesnt restrict plantarflexion in order to keep maximal ankle range of motion and calf muscle strength.
It will allow running, walking, hiking in mountain as long and as far as you want without any discomforts. This ankle foot orthosis (AFO), was tested in many conditions, during many marathons, triathlons, endurance activities and adventures in the wild Canadian backcountry. Unlike conventional foot drop brace, it can be fit on high hiking footwear, winter or safety boots.
It is affix totally outside the shoe to maximize comfort and prevent skin breakdown, rubbing injuries to the foot.
It can be changed from shoe to another in a few seconds.

I am a landscaper and have dropfoot for 16 years now.This is the best brace I have used.Very happy with it and the company.

An excellent foot brace. A complete difference from normal plastic braces. I am 72 years old so do not expect to go running with it, however I can continue to do my daily walks without fearing to fall headlong and also have a better balance. It is expensive, but well worth it

I dont quite understand this. The way it looks the device appears to add strength to the foot in plantar flexion direction.
But the advertising says it is supposed to treat dropfoot which also is a problem in the plantar flexion direction.
Would this be more of a dorsiflexion resistance device?
Can you show us in action stroke patient use this product with or without..thank you so much
I tried one on in September and had trouble getting it on but because it was an assessment one at my Orthotics persons place The U clip for the shoe lace clip was removable. I managed to get it on and I could’ve cried I felt spring in my step, all of the potential of having this on my leg every day was beyond exciting. I felt my quadriceps working and that movement could really flow again. I was very worried that it wouldn’t work for me because my foot wasn’t easy to get into my shoe. I called turbo med in Quebec I spoke with Stephane, He told me that the just released Frontier model might be better for me and cost apx 1150. I live in a very remote location so I will be travelling to have a fitting done in the next couple weeks and I’m beyond excited for my new life that I can have with this. I’ve been wearing an AFO for 36 years and this is the best thing ever. You can go to the turbo med webpage and look at their videos to hear what people have to say and to see better videos of it in action.
How has it worked out for you?
@@TheDinger thanks for asking. It’s not as sturdy as I thought but I also have 36 years of using a rigid AFO so I think I need to get used to the muscles being used a bit more that do work. I also need to get a $600 set of orthotics to wear now inside the shoes. It’s definitely feeling less painful and I really like the affects of having less tension in my hips and lower back from the rigid jarring of the old AFO. I definitely feel freer in it, but also weaker.
I hope that changes and I think it will. It’s also hard for me to remember, but I have to remember that this is just for betterment. It’s not a cure. I still have to wear my other AFO for really good support for now. They are interchangeable.
Are Boss since from last 36 years U hv been using this , better do some exercises with oil lukmane hayat tail for massage definitely u will get good result.
I woke up last week with foot drop. Had hammer toes abd hallux rigidus at 38 now this 😢
Will these help for someone in wheelchair,cause her right side is parralize,but they are excercising with her by holding her while walking

Dear Sir,I have seen your presentation repeatedly for a number of times.Really your solution ia incredible.My daughter has a foot drop after a car accident 5 years ago.Her case is related a perpneal nerve that control her foot&her heel is indented.Until now she didn't get the right shoes that makes her walking comfortable.If I send you photographs &video of her walking can you provide her a shoes that solves ger problem?Thank you so much

I too wanted to see this in action. It just doesn't make sense that you didn't consider doing so, unless.... well, you know, it isn't all that. I have a basic idea how one of these I supposed to work from the one I left the hospital with, but I'd really need to see this in action before considering, thus my search continues.
They actually have a 2 month return policy if it doesn’t work for you. Make sure to double check that because sometimes those things change. They did say that they want everyone to be sure that it works for them so that’s why they have the two month warranty etc. whatever it’s called.

I have foot drop on my left side from a Gunshot injury. I am HIGHLY interested in this brace. I keep seeing it being posted in the Foot Drop group on Facebook. I live in Wisconsin, USA. The closest distributor is Minnesota, a few hundred miles away. How do I get started on purchasing this? Or trying it out?
Hi , There many ways you can do to get the brace. You can contact PhysioTech and they can assemble one to your shoe size and send it over the maill all across USA. They will take care of your insurrance claim. www.physiotech.com/ContactUs.asp (804) 273-9721 You can also go to your local Orthotics clinic and ask them to order from their distributors Casacade or SPS, but its possble they tell you they dont know that product. I think the faster and easiest is PhysioTech as you dont need a skilled practicionner to fit it. You also have a 60 trial money back garante if you dont like it. All patient received a brace fully assemble ready for their shoe size. All you have to do is install the lace clips connectr on all your footwear. (very easy to do). I have one as well, and it DOES NOT WORK FOR ME. I still had pronounced foot "slap" on the floor while walking in any footwear I put it on.
