This is a prime example of INTEGRITY. You could’ve easily fixed it quietly but you decided to go public. You doing that shows great character, great integrity, and you hold everyone accountable and you uphold a pure standard of excellence. There’s no such thing as a perfect company…but with this attitude, GC is gonna be pretty close. Love it💛

Valid point. Flat / hidden roofs almost always have problems. You need to watch them carefully for while after installation.

The leakage mostly happens when you choose this type of roofing. The way you roofed your storey building is the best. My uncle's house faced the same challenge because of the roofing style, where u don't see the roofing sheet.

This was not sealed. You even have to seal the area where the screws were inserted again, otherwise water will leak into the house.

You said it right.. It's the flat roof...They just look good but for any Africa Country that has a rainy season the water is plenty and a flat root allows it to settle. High roofs allow the rain to barley settle at all...A Flat root "pitch" isn't steep enough for months of rain...They look good but THEY WILL ALWAYS...ALWAYS LEAK... Great job Sista we love you...Don't worry you will be big in the game because you are fighting through the mistakes...❤

Once you're in a construction business you need to have clerk of works at all your projects. They inspects the workmanship, quality and safety of work on construction sites. A clerk of work would do regular site inspections for you and checking that building plans are being followed correctly.

The caretaker on the grounds should’ve notified you at first sight of wetness at any spot. Lesson learned. Roof cement needs waterproofing mixture, tiles alone can’t fix. It’s all in the cement

This kind of roofing design has always been a problem, because you have to damp proof all the walls around the roofing perimeter and where the roofing sheet meets the wall, your best option is to reroof it by layering the roofing sheet onto the walls also the usage of roof trusses is essential,I hope you read this,I’m glad you saw the mistake.

I would never ever install a "hidden roof". I don't know what makes people all love this. The level of mastery needed to pull one off is insane. If you're not working with lasers and have the absolute best craftsmen, it's guaranteed to leak.

This type of secrete roofing always has a lot of problems, I'd advise you always go for "One Way Roofing Method" if you want a peace of mind secrete roofing. For that type you will leave the water direction side open without laying any blocks to cover it, so you're going to cover only 3 side of the roofing and leave the back side where the water is directing to open.. so people can only see the roofing when they're at the back of the building, but when facing direct to the building the roofing will be hidden to them in that direction. I wish i could send you an example in a video form.. it's the best method of secrete roofing, trust me you won't worry about leakage or what so ever because the water is just going on one direction without any blockage.

Aleta, l remember complaining in one of your numerous videos over these flat roof buildings all over. Rains in Ghana are like flash rain, when it pure it really pure like crazy. So, flat roofs not built well or very good get expose to the elements. So, if l were you, I will advise your clients not to go for flat roof when building in Ghana, but if they do, they have to make sure that it's extremely watertight or waterproof.

A waterproofing membrane helps the exterior of a house by creating a barrier that prevents water from penetrating the walls and foundation, thus protecting the structure from moisture damage, leaks, and potential structural issues caused by excessive water infiltration, especially in areas exposed to rain, snow, or ground moisture.
Key ways a waterproofing membrane protects the exterior:
    Prevents water leaks:
The primary function is to seal cracks, joints, and other potential entry points on the exterior walls, preventing water from seeping into the building.
    Protects against moisture damage:
By blocking water intrusion, it helps maintain the integrity of exterior materials like siding, stucco, and brick, preventing warping, rotting, and mold growth.
    Improves energy efficiency:
A dry exterior wall can better insulate the home, reducing heating and cooling costs.
    Extends lifespan of building materials:
By preventing water damage, a waterproofing membrane can significantly prolong the life of the exterior walls and foundation.
Where waterproofing membranes are typically applied:
Basements and foundation walls: To protect against groundwater and hydrostatic pressure.
Below-grade walls: Especially in areas with high water tables.
Balcony and deck surfaces: To prevent water from penetrating the structure beneath
Roof decks: To create a waterproof barrier on flat roofs
    Different types of waterproofing membranes:
Liquid-applied membranes: Can be easily applied to various surfaces, often used for small areas or complex shapes.
Sheet membranes: Pre-fabricated sheets that are installed over the surface and sealed at seams.
Spray-on membranes: Can be applied to hard-to-reach areas
