I really hope there are some NPCs like in the traditional Nikki games! I loved getting to meet the other characters in their cities and the different styles of each city that’s been established in the Nikki lore.
I played Love Nikki a few years ago and it is amazing to see how what was a fairly simple dress up game series has evolved. The world looks beautiful so will definitely be giving it a try.
Huh. I was actually thinking this was going to be like a visual novel or something. This is far more ambitious than what I thought it would be
I’ve played the games on mobile. They’re very pretty artistically and have loads of systems in the game to collect all kinds of things. The bulk of the gameplay are « styling battles » where you go against the ai or players and who filled the themes best get higher scores. There’s a surprisingly high volume of straight up storytelling. Like A LOT. Visual novel style. And over the years it has seemed like they were developing the game with more and more story as a priority but still I would’ve never expected a full 3D beautiful cozy open world adventure platforming game lol. It looks lovely, I’ll be playing it but mind you in the mobile game they are FULL of mtx and energy timers/dailies so this is something to be expected here as well. Granted I have to say they are the most generous in how much currency they give you for free in the game to unlock stuff.
So, probably safe to say it'll work similarly to Genshin Impact.
@@sephi7ac Nah Genshin Impact is very different. There's no gambling for characters in Nikki games. There are gambling boxes for pieces of clothing so that's possible to reappear but there's plenty of stuff that is not lootbox-a-like. It's pretty well balanced, surprisingly.
@@thisiskitta Yeah, also Genshin relies heavily on a lore-based story where we actively influence events from their lore's consequences. Nikki is more of a discovery world where we go along instead of defying the story, really. We conduct investigations and sorts of stuff to unlock for the story, which is only a subsidiary thing in Genshin after you complete the entire Archon Quests.
When it's Out?
I've played some of the mobile games and I loved them. The newest one for mobile really upped the quality and the visuals are stunning. I was hoping for something like this to come soon and this has me excited beyond belief! I've thought of how the outfits could be used in the real world since they were linked to memories in other Nikki games so this is a fun and great idea that I like much more than having another character like in Genshin Impact, i.e. having a team of 4 with their own abilities. Some events have been very into buying packs to get the items needed for outfits but then again the outfits there were for collections and did not have uses like they might here. I'm hoping the buy packs/gems won't be something that hinders this game too much.
A lot of the abilities remind me of Alice madness returns, but rather than having abilities/weapons we're switching outfits. Which is ICONIC for nikki xD honestly, im so excited for this game to release ♡
Dude I'm so hyped for this. It looks beautiful and is a combination of two of my favorite styles of game. I hope the open world stays entertaining. I think it would be interesting to see what they do without their being small enemies that you fight, unless there ARE.
if this is based off of shining nikki’s miraland i hope they do ruin island justice w/ it’s underwater cyberpunk theme bc it has so much potential aesthetic wise
I started playing the Shining Nikki version of the game, and the graphics are so pretty. I'm surprised it's so ambitious in the graphics on this game as well. I wouldn't have expected a game for this to come out because it's played as a 3D-graphic 2D RPG (visual novel) game as is on mobile.
Also, for the audience of this game - I don't think most of the demographic of this game is subscribed to this channel. It's not some nitty-gritty game in general, it's simply an open-world version of a pre-existing franchise of dress-up games. Yes, dress up games. And they cater to teen girls like me so lol.

I only ever heard of Shining Nikki when I saw it on top of the highest grossing mobile games, so I was kinda surprised when I saw that they made an "open-world dress-up" game now. Don't think I'm the target audience for this, but it's still interesting to see how popular this franchise is.
Not my thing either but I might try it just because I'm interested in how an open world dress up game works.

If it's like previous games of this franchise, then Genshin Impact is nothing compared to how expensive it is.
You can easily spend a couple hundred dollars a month, and that's not even considered whales/heavy spenders.
