The game is fun when you figure things out yourself, but one thing that it seems like you're doing (and likely wouldn't realize) is pressing the button to reset immediately when you're grabbed. When a lizard has you, you can watch it carry your body and sometimes it'll drop you, giving you an extra chance until you "truly" die.

who else who plays rainworld love seeing new people to the game play?
I agree but it is also painful to see them die or fail at the seemingly most simple tasks
And it's also painful to see them stop playing the game too early because it's not enjoyable to them
Hooray a new(ish) playthrough! I have no idea who you are but you playing this masterpiece immidieately earned you a sub! Also 3:38 lol. I don´t want to spoil too much but here are a couple things:
1. Not everything is hostile, some creatures are passive and some may even help you.
2. You can see the rain timer in the bottom left while in map.
3. Iggy will try to help you as much as possible, but you shouldn´t rely on him. Also he only gives directions with holograms.
4. Throwing rocks at creatures will stun them for a second and deal a very small amount of damage. Spears do much more damage than rocks.
5. Some pipes can be accesed by other creatures but not you.
6. If you want I can post info about creatures you meet at the end of a comment (with minimal spoilers of course).

Idk how much you care about getting spoiled (no spoilers here tho) but it is normal to have to look up how to do stuff (like beat the game).
Like there is so much movement tech there is a google docs of (I believe) 87 pages
Oh, one thing to note: if you throw something during a jump, you’ll be able to jump further (a spear and a rock for max distance)
for combat: hitting a lizard on the head with a rock makes them expose their soft body for a hit with a spear.
if something doesn’t die with one spear hit, you can take the spear out of them (when they’re stunned or something) and throw it back in right away (which you can then keep doing multiple times as a spear hit should stun them for long enough at that point)

(the game might be beatable within a few hours, but a blind run might take over 90 hours)

Awesome vid! With as few spoilers as possible, here are a few tips:
1: Lizards can be killed, but their heads are protected.
2: Some creatures are friends, others food, and most are foes. Which are which can change in an instant.
3: Everything has utility, even if it isn't immediately obvious.
4: Have fun!

You are right, rain world has a kinda intense cult following, we are a different branch of the people who adore hollow knight (I think almost all of us love HK too).
Now, small advice, slugcats move faster then they are standing up😄
Grabbing a pole is as simple as holding up when you are passing over it
Rain World is an incredible game, but it’s also so incredibly difficult, you will have to learn to adapt to playing a game that is very different then other games, it’s a simulated world. It is not a platformer, nor is it a metroidvania, it is an atmospheric survival game. If you love it you love it, if you hate it… well you didn’t make it past the first few hours (people who hate rain world never finish it)
All that said, try to go in blind, but feel free to ask me any questions (I might not answer some), have fun and I hope it goes well!

Rain world's unique what makes it spaciel for us
Truly the peak gaming. just dont have to quit at the very start...
(also there is 0 similarity Between Hollow knight and Rain world, I think they released around same time?)
