      There are several ideas for how to learn piano
      Try practicing about an hour a day, or even half an hour if you short of time.
      Do extra practice whenever you can. For example, on weekends you could do more than 1 hour, perhaps two or three, or even more.
      (I discovered about these and more from Denelle Piano Lesson site )

      ***** yes i play gitar for 1 and a half year now and kinda stuck too but i think without a teacher you cant stuck at all because you can do what you want or like. you can learn the basics from the teacher but you can also lern the basics alone and if you stuck in some point of a song you can switch instantly to another one (more fun etc.)

    Coming from someone who self taught for about 45 days before making the investment into private lessons...week 1 truly looks like you have had some prior experience or knowledge of playing piano. Not going from, like myself, having never done anything with a piano/keyboard besides perhaps bangin' around on the keys when I was like 2/3yrs old lol, I'm 35 as of 5/1/2018!! I'm not saying your video is complete BS, however I think it would be a bit more fair putting some context or previous knowledge of playing as a footnote or something...just my opinion. Thanks

      He definitely has some prior experience of playing piano or other musical instruments. When I started piano, I was at least as good as this guy after 1 week.
      But I had clarinet and violin lessons for years throughout pretty much all of my school days. I also had a keyboard that I used to dabble with back in the day.
      If I claimed this rate of progress made me some kind of piano prodigy, I'd be full of shit. I learned it quickly because I had a ton of transferable skills and some prior experience.
      If someone is a true beginner with no prior musical experience, they won't learn anywhere near as fast as this. But that's fine, and totally understandable. They just need persevere with it and they will get there. Don't be put off by videos like this.

    To everyone who plays longer than him but isnt that good....
    Its NOT about years!! its about how much repetition you have and how much variation ur practice contains.
    And most importantly, its about how many hours you play....
    you can play piano for 20 years, but if you just play 1 hour a week, its still not that great...

    Your story was pretty similar to me. I started teaching my self how to play piano year 2014 and it was pretty hard because no one was teaching you, but that didn't stop me. At the age of 12, I started playing Yiruma's pieces and that made realize to pursue harder. I know it's hard but each time I finish one piece, that makes me feel great and that is the real meaning of "practice makes perfect."

    Some songs I play
    Marriage di amour - Richard clayderman
    Kiss the rain - yiruma
    River Flows in you - yiruma
    Ballade pour adeline - richard clayderman
    Nocturne in c-sharp minor - Chopin, say me if i am wrong.
    Sadness and sorrow- i dont kniw who is the autor
    And actually im trying to play la campanella from liszt.
    I am teaching myself. It is called self-taught if i am not wrong. However, someday i will upload a video of me playing those pieces that sound so good on piano.

    the early pieces seem like you've had some prior experience, at least have messed around on the piano prior. But I guess we don't know if you are playing the whole song or not since its a highlight video, but 7 pieces is a lot even for a normal player, add in the slowness of using synthesis as well....

    When did you start playing the piano?
    Because those first weeks from those two years definitely don't look (and sound) like your first overall :P
    I started playing a year ago; also self-taught (except for a couple of practice unts with a teacher every three months to have a 'technique check' to avoid bad habits)
    And my first months were, let's say very slow and basic.
    I'm still really slow reading sheet music, and and jump with the hand is still very hard to me.
    Maybe you were faster because you had musical experience before?
    Or I'm just terrible, lol.

    I wonder what 2 Sets would say when they check your progression video.... hmmm. I'm a pianist of 21 years. I started when I was 8 years old. Never stopped. I'm amazed by your progress, to think your posture and your proper wrist and hand and finger placement are a-ok for a self-taught student is amazing. Some self taught people ive met who play the piano have a lot of mistakes that when corrected they find hard to change. Usually they have problems with posturing, techniques, and proper wrist, hand, finger placement.
    But I'm a dumb ass so dont believe me lol good luck and keep it up

    Man, I appreciated the video, but I'm writing for another reason. I'd like people to know that playing the piano starts as a game but needs more that that to be grown as a passion. There are other videos like this, I'm not going to comment each other. My message is that playing by yourself is wonderful; on the other hand, if you have the possibility and love this instrument, you should struggle to get a good teacher: it is the only way to have a consistent and constant approach that will lead you to a better technique, a real method and a better understanding of yourself into the music.

    • @nice7444
      @nice7444 6 лет назад +2

      Nole_ Not true at all, if the 13 year old put in the same effort as the 18-20, the 13 would be better. Age doesn’t matter, also at a younger age, ear development is easier making it a higher advantage.

    • @xyoopridex
      @xyoopridex 6 лет назад

      Nole_ agreed, it's that when we're adults, we have specific goals to go for and we research specifically what steps to follow in order to make that happen and improvise upon it with practicing. When we're kids, we just keep playing what we like and just use whatever's available for us, instead of trying to find a best approach to learn unless they get a mentor to show them a way.

    • @JaeFreshmen
      @JaeFreshmen 6 лет назад

Then came the 4th day after I wanted to play piano (I hadn't played since) where I just looked up classical pieces and wanted to do 1st movement of moonlight sonata I did the beggining. Now it's been about 7H that i practised piano and i can play about 3 minutes of the 1st movement my hand position is actually really good idk how but it was just like this from the beggining didn't even look up tutorials. 🤔 Man... I’ve been playing for 7 years now (self taught-don’t read sheet music-never taken a lesson-*exception of RUclips tutorials) and occasionally I’ll go a week or two without playing due to circumstances... other than that, I play every day and sometimes for 3-5 hours a night (if I’ve taken adderall) and I’m not bad (good enough for a coffee shop or occasional church service fill-in). Now, I’m not hating here but (unless you’re a savant or had years of experience with another instrument) even the simple complexity & timing you had with “Titanic” merely a few months in reeked of professional guidance... which is always a GREAT thing to have... I just have a hunch your father “fixed the bull” as you expertly grabbed it’s horns those magically productive two years.
    Either way, keep rockin it man. Piano stays cool no matter how you tame it. Like a cross between a trophy wife, Rhodesian Ridgeback, and kick-ass wingman who never leaves your side 😎

    The bass and chord in the left hand.
    The octaved vocal in the right hand.
    Most of the songs are pop-ish in 4/4.
    Your progress made you faster, but I think you've limited yourself for the same kind of music.
