I was born and grown up in the Soviet Union. Pink Floyd was banned there after the song 'Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert.' As a child, I used to listen to Pink Floyd at night on my radio, tuning into BBC broadcasts on shortwave. The quality was terrible, as Soviet special services diligently jammed the signal, but sometimes it was quite bearable - perhaps they liked it too. Since then, this music has always been with me. A year ago, one of my dreams came true, and I attended Roger's concert in Munich. Now I am eagerly waiting for October to fulfill another dream and fly to Rome for David's concert. Blessing to you, David! You are a gift from the heavens for all of us.

I took the turntable with amplifier included from my house, which was not mine. I made a cutter and put a jack in it to connect headphones. Every night for months I listened to the record lying on my bed. One day the A side and another day the B side. It was a few years before I had a group of friends around me who understood this incredible and exciting music. Those were the happiest days of my life.

Lost my best friend, who was actually more of a big brother, of almost 20 years just yesterday, completely unexpectedly. He was my go-to authority for anything and everything cool, and was central in my musical development. We had an immense shared passion for guitars, guitar gear, and music in general. I'd already been into Floyd when we first met back when I was 16, but he was the one to really turn me onto Mr. Gilmour's solo work, initially via the self-titled 1978 album. Feels as if my world has been pulled from under me, in utter disbelief, feeling hollow and alienated, unable to imagine a life without him around anymore- he was the greatest source of warmth I've ever known, and a terrific musician/songwriter. Seeing this posted now seems particularly serendipitous given what's unfolded. Love you forever, big brother- and will finally commit to doing as you always encouraged me to, and take music more serious; actually finish tracks, perform them- will always do so with your name at the front of my mind. David, your music is balsam on the soul at the best of times, but especially at times like these.
Sorry for your loss I lost my friend of 30 years not long ago and it’s hard to think when you can pick up the phone and just call them. I find comfort in the times where I’m sad and I look over like he is right there and hear his laughter, smart ass remark and I remember he maybe gone but never forgotten
May our feelings travel on the wings of David's music to our departed friends, brothers and sisters and let them know that we miss them dearly and that we are always connected to them.
Waiting on any of David's solos is like waiting to see the smile of an old friend. His music has been the sound track of my life from the early 70's. Romany is beautiful and her voice angelic. "Between Two Points" is one of the most beautiful songs I have heard come out in a long time. Thank God I'm alive during the Gilmore's presence on earth.

Schließe mich mit 62 Jahren an
Thank you Mr Gilmour, your music brings me to sad and happy times in my life, just pure genius❤
hola david.. yo puedo decir..., VIVI EN LA EPOCA DE DAVID GILMOUR.. el grande de los mas grandemente ejemplo a seguir .... hermosa canción . y de tal palo tal astilla .
We all with you mate 🙏
❤
Sorry for your loss I lost my friend of 30 years not long ago and it’s hard to think when you can pick up the phone and just call them. I find comfort in the times where I’m sad and I look over like he is right there and hear his laughter, smart ass remark and I remember he maybe gone but never forgotten
May our feelings travel on the wings of David's music to our departed friends, brothers and sisters and let them know that we miss them dearly and that we are always connected to them.
Sorry for your loss.
"Like waiting to see the smile of an old friend". Yep. What a good way to put it.
Thank you for decades of great music!
Gilmour was always great and he gets better with age. No one plays guitar with more depth, feeling and emotion than David Gilmour.
I really hope I get to see him in New York.
True. Two other guitarists are in the same league although not as well known: Andrew Latimer ( Camel), Steve Rothery ( Marillion)
@@Arsene1I'll definitely check them out. Thanks for the heads up! There's tons of people who play fast, technical and complex but players with _depth_ are rare.

45 years on still my all time favourite song. Enjoy
I am 64 and discovered Plini - a few years ago. Prog lives on. ruclips.net/video/eeQ5Nd3I3YI/видео.htmlsi=QS8DhEtb_5-EmgOg

Gotta second Latimer, for sure. Snow Goose is timeless!
Better add Steve Hackett to the expanding list, too...
Perfect! One of my favorite albums. Thank you David, thanks a lot, guys for your music.
Musica celestial!!! Un verdadero científico de los sonidos 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
