I remember the G1 episode with nightbird in it, awesome to see her with an alt-mode as supposed to just a nunchuck wielding ninja Droid... great video.
There was an official Nightbird Transformer a few years ago using the T30 Arcee mold; unfortunately it was a TakaraTomy only figure, and was/is expensive to get in the US
Great review man! But, when it comes to selects' boxes, I always thought they were trying to imitate the mailing boxes the collectors club used to use since selects seemed like it was trying to replace it.
Patriot Prime Reviews I was, and have bought their figures during closeout. The mailer box they used on the free membership figures and TFSS figures was just plain brown, with maybe a sticker or two saying what it was, and a foam insert holding the toy.
Hey Patriot Prime. Nice job with the review. What a cool use of the Moonracer mould. I would definitely get it if it had a retail release. I agree with you regarding the accessories. I mean come on...she’s a ninja after all. I’m guessing they didn’t give her ninja accessories because they would have a tough time reusing them on another figure. Cheers M
Awesome review Jason. I agree the packaging is sub-par compared to other exclusive releases. I like the Takara Legends version better since it was more accurate and had ninja weapons.
Epic review Patriot Prime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D I hope I will be able to get Nightbird soon, your review has made her a "must have" Transformers toy. :D Keep up the amazing work you do, Double Thumb's Up. ;D
Great figure... Hasbro really needs to stop with the lack of hubcaps on vehicles though. Exposing the wheel post clips makes figures look cheap to me and ruin otherwise amazing figures. Cog has the issue, Countdown, all of this mold, and many others. Figures they did nicely for wheels are Hound, Rachet, Ironhide, etc. They all have those clips covered or attach the wheels differently.
Sorry I missed this live. This is , easily, the best of the Chromia mold. I gave upon buying that mold because of the crappy kibble and we deserve better fembots. However....I may have to get Nightbird. Excellent review, brother 🤘😁🤘
Sorry missed the live stream was out walking in the park and my luck I'd fall in the stream while watching. I do remember this character from the g1 toon. Its cool to see her with an alt mode but I really would dig an "action master" figure of her. Still a great review and I'm still waiting on my smokescreen. All these other releases before. Hasbro why you scare my wallet?
Great review! Good choice on weapon swaps. If you don't like the box be prepared that all boxes for transformers may be like that. I saw on TFW2005 that hasbro plans on reducing their impact on the planet by some year in the future by changing the packaging. They seem to be listening to these sjw's that think the world will end in 12 yrs do to gobal warming. Not trying to get to much into the poltics but just thought you should know due to it is already effecting the price we pay and now the packaging will soon suffer due to it. At that point i am not sure what we will really be paying for. I would have rather have detail paint then the cheap battle damage paint that they give us. I mean its just mostly silver marks on them so it only one extar paint hasbro uses on the toys. Anyways sorry to rant but you have to admit this is going to be a growing issues all around. Keep up the great work and cant wait to see a Toyhax for her.
If I had the chance to get this or the Takara Legends Nightbird that was a remold of Generations Arcee, which would you suggest? Coz given yours and the multitude of others' reviews, it's really making me lean towards the older Nightbird. This one has better colors and size, but she doesn't seem fun to play with. I don't have an attachment to the episode. I just like the darker gray coz...ninja.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews It's fine, man. Thanks for the showcase and frank opinion all the same. Would be nice if she got an alt mode that didn't give her as much obstructive kibble, like a bike
So I guess now we can't even see what we're getting until you open up the cardboard. That's mighty chicken shit on Hasbro. At least we have your passion and videos to know what we're going to purchase. Thank you Mr. Patriot Prime.
Thank you. What concerns me is Hasbro is wanting to discontinue using plastic in their packaging, this may be what's in store for us on the Retail shelves.
Wow it's gonna be hard for any of us to collect. We're paying leader prices for Voyager figures, more downsizing of product and now we can't see what we're buying. Very frustrating.
Can anyone tell me if this will fit into the combinder orthea I know the combinder will not be right but I cannot afford green light and this would be a nice substitute or can someone recommend one that wouldn't
Obviously, Hasbro hasn't bothered to learn from these other companies, the term: "Get woke, go broke!" All I can say is this... If Hasbro is STUPID enough to try and sell their product at retail in plain brown boxes, or even in decorated boxes WITHOUT a view window to check for broken or missing parts, or $#!tty paint apps, they're going to get serious backlash from retailers when they're left with a $#!t ton of product sitting on shelves, that no one is willing to buy. As it is, Wal-Mart seems to have eliminated ALL peg space for Battle masters and Micromasters, likely due to excess peg warming...and we can SEE THOSE toys! I recommend CORPORATE LEVEL calling Hasbro, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Target, TRU, and any other retailers you can think of and TELL them what Hasbro is planning with ALL of their toy packaging, and if they don't step in and squash that nonsense, they're likely to be stuck with a LOT MORE leftovers on their shelves, because consumers/COLLECTORS want to SEE what we're buying before shelling out the cash. Hasbro isn't likely to listen to US, largely because too many of the hardcore collectors, and especially the HJW's (Hasbro Justice Warriors) out there will still buy the $#!t, or make a big online stink about it, nullifying OUR legitimate complaints at CORPORATE LEVEL. However, Hasbro depends on SEVERAL MILLION in sales from companies like Wal-Mart & Target, who pimp their exclusive retail stuff as an incentive to sell their mainline stuff, and IF THOSE companies even THINK it will impact their bottom line in the slightest, THEY will tell Hasbro to rethink their genius plan to appease their SJW employees and stick to what they know... Producing TOYS...! The U.S. ALREADY does MORE to protect the planet than ANY OTHER COUNTRIES. PERIOD! We can't be responsible for it ALL or it won't do any good anyway. China 🇨🇳 is the BIGGEST polluter on the planet, let them do some legwork for a change. ALSO, none of that has ANYTHING to do with the cost of our figures. I'm paying the same prices since the new series rolled out, on everything I collect from Hasbro. Marvel Legends are manufactured in CHINA, we're paying the same prices as before, NO change. Transformers are manufactured in Vietnam now. Prices changed due to quality, plastic, paint apps, sculpting, etc., because Hasbro heard us complaining about CHEAPLY MADE crap and upped their game a little bit, and the price reflects that. (Vietnam isn't being hit with high tariffs like CHINA, but China is absorbing those costs, NOT US.) Don't buy into the alarmist hype on this junk. Prices are the same across the board on our toys. Politics hasn't changed ANYTHING thus far! The problem is the SJWs at Hasbro... THEIR big plans to save the planet ARE what will cost us our hobbies. So, anyway, urge the retailers to lean heavily on Hasbro about this! THAT is our ONLY real avenue of potentially successful attack on this packaging thing. Sorry for the tirade, PATRIOT! Felt it needed saying, and I tried to say it WITHOUT being political...not sure I succeeded there, lol. Feel free to edit or delete as you see fit, brother! Hooo-ah!!

True, but they were able to give POTP Wreck-Gar a Classics Melee Weapon. SO they coulda reused a sword or axe.
Patriot Prime Reviews Yeah, good point. Maybe they could even reuse a new accessory for a different toy line entirely.
All they needed to do was borrow the sai and swords from her Takara Legends release... They were even cast in translucent yellow.
Shane Hai Hi Shane. Yes, that’s a really good point.

Gotta keep your eyes on the road.
I use the Dr Wu Chromia weapon set for Nightbird. The guns go to Chromia, but Chromia doesn't need swords. So ninja style swords should go to a ninja.
Thanks, I need to check those out.
That is such a awesome figure
I kind of want to get this figure because it's cool, but I feel if I do I'll just pick up the Takara Legends version later on anyway.
I looked this morning, the Legends one goes for around $70.00.
