you have a point. A proper Ninja can fill many roles including intelligence gathering, soldier and assassination. Keep in mind that proper disguise work is just as important as martial arts training and other skills.

Being a human made robot, Nightbird would have fit perfectly in the Age of Extinction movie. Making her part of the KSI drones, with the included elements of the Nightbird army like in the comics, which later became under the control of Galvatron. Have her small army fight Drift, and with one Nightbird surviving the battle. Which would later be her own character in The Last Knight.
Well there was a concept art for a female ksi drone named widowmaker but was changed to stinger

When I was a kid, I never understood why they made Nightbird a one-off character, never to be seen or heard from again in the cartoon. I mean she had so much potential for future episodes.

I liked Nightbird. I wish they more with her during g1. But knowing she helped allow females and female Decepticons to be born makes me happy to know that. I watched it as a kid and didn't realize her episode was older than the female Autobot episode. So, she really was the first female. That's cool. And yes....she should be a Decepticon that loyally serves Megatron. I'd like to see that.

I loved the idea of making Nightbird a regular. Her and Devcon were definitely 2 badass characters who wasted away.

I think adding Nightbird to the mercenary faction makes a lot of sense. If she traditionally doesn't have an allegiance, then I don't think we would get any arguments there. It would be really cool to see her as a fully fleshed-out character.
I know it's not a big deal (to most), but in a game we play (many that grew up watching the G1 show); Transformers: Earth Wars (storyline created by Simon Furman)...Nightbird is a Decepticon

Yes. The more the merrier. She should be known to work for Megatron but still be a free agent. If she becomes more Cybertronian then I like the idea of Megatron loving her. He wouldn't give up world domination for her but he love would be true.

Nightbird may as well be one of the most underrated characters in the franchise! I really hope War for Cybertron revives her role, like what they did for Elita 1. 💜
Robots + Ninjas + 1980s. Sells itself. Hasbro dropped the ball leaving all that money on the table for kids whose parents couldn't buy them enough toys
Dont know why, but she became one of my favorite characters. I would definitely like to see her in future continuities as a Decepticon.
I'd portray her as Megs pre war Conjunx Endura. One of his biggest regrets would be how his obsession with ensuring Decepticonism's triumph cost him the love of his life. They grew more & more distant until Nightbird vanished (left to join the Circle Of Light). It'd be an interesting parallel to Optimus & Elita's own strained romance they're both striving hard to make work.

I'd love to see her as a Decepticon. Give her the same basic origin, with her alt mode being a drone with a cloaking mechanism. I could even see her being Arcee's or Windblade's archival.
Can you imagine Nightbird was rebuilt along with Megatron, Skywarp, Thundercracker and the Insecticons when they faced Unicron? Nightbird could have been named Dark Raven or something and became Galvatron's espionage officer and consort.
Yes of course. Besides being Megatron's potential waifu, Nightbird is a good equivalent to Baroness of Cobra. Since the Decepticons lacks female warriors, Nightbird is needed to counteract the likes of Windblade, Arcee etc.
The 80s, Transformers, and ninjas. This episode was the best of both worlds.
I think that Nightbird should be a Decepticon.
I like the Japanese Story in which she became an Official transformer ninja, and destroys Sixshot´s body. Still I would like her to get a Spark from Vector Sigma and become a mercenary, she would know she is too good by herself to be serving Megatron, so she would become a mercenary for the highest bidder!

I don't know part of what makes her cool to me is that she's unaffiliated however she helped the decepticons. I'm not fan with how many more factions have been added however I wouldn't mind seeing her with humans that are anti-transformers or say lock down
My personal head cannon of the Mercenary faction:

- Nightbird
- Bug Bite
- Exhaust
- Soundblaster
- Doublecross
I think that at least in the cartoon, Nightbird was a non-spark but sentient robot. Perhaps in other continuities a cybertron-born with a spark.
By the way, we could make a video about other living robots and artificial intelligences that have appeared in Transformers and that are not Cybertronians.

I dind't grew up with G1, but yes with Animated.
As far I saw she was just a Megatron's tool like a lot of stuff he stoled from humans. I mean the model from Siege (repainted of Chromia) is cute, but in the Siege cartoon a lot of the robot models never appeared.
But she is just a random robot on Earth.

I mean, she was a great one shot character, and I like the Chromia mold....anyway, I was trying to blame you for my impulsiveness but it`s not working cause deep down I know it`s all my fault. I guess I`m thanking you, in a way, cause I`m gonna love this bot.

Nightbird and Shatter should have a one-off episode in some transformer show where they work together but argue and occasionally fight over who is better.

It would be nice to see her back in action as a 100% Decepticon, teaming up with others "oriental-type warriors" like Bludgeon or Banzai Tron. Although, in my case, I would prefer to keep her without an alternate mher.
I like giving her an alt mode after she becomes a full fledged Cybertronian.
In my case, I like that she lacks an alternate mode, in the action master/monoformer style. But yeah, it would be weird that after becoming 100% Cybertronian she wouldn't have an alternate mode. Although I wish it was not a remold of another fembot.
I don't care if she is ever a full Cybertronian since that ship sailed on the original.
Also, Black Arachnia in Beast Wars reminded me of her somewhat since she used the martial arts-like jump kicks when fighting hand to hand.

Or abuse count. Think if starscream took that humiliation as hypothesis, some of that could have made him immortal 🤔 the more abuse the sooner his spark mutates and making him a ghost.

Impossible Toys did a nice model of her modeled after their Arcee and Medic Bot female bots. Around 2007 or 2008 I believe it was. Great work, now to get me a current Nightbird!
On the unofficial front Nightbird had some third-party figures and appeared in early TFcon stories. Amazingly some of her third-party figures were also remolds of Arcee, like Takara later did in an official capacity!
I am going to admit i used to not like rodimus primal.though after time the i just started feeling like the character and i could some times relate to.now he is one of my top ten favorites.

The RED line seems perfect for characters like night bird emert zaron and alpha trion who don't have vechile modes. I mean that would be the most accurate version of those characters.
