The best Orca video footage coming from Miss Vissler, the new Go Pro Series is superbee. She also has exposed the machinations of Sea World many times, as recently with the stranded orca in Holland. It later ended up in a Sea World prison in the USA. They claimed he would have died otherwise. Ms. Vissler says stranded orcas can be cared for at least 4 weeks and watered daily so the skin does not burn. Sea World is a big liar.
7:43 - now *_that_* was completely unexpected! The level of understanding and coordination required to pull that maneuver off was remarkable. Two orca speed in towards the sea lion, flanking its position, then barrel rolling in opposite directions, slapping their tails against the sea lion at precisely the same time. Amazing creatures...
You wanna see amazing, watch a clip of orcas teaching their young to hunt seals on ice packs, the level.of intelligence it takes to pull that off is astounding.
It looks like this might have been a training session to teach the calf the different techniques that they use to get this particular type of prey. Idk for sure, it just seemed that way to me. I am in awe of Orcas and their familial bonds and hunting strategies.
I know right, it looks like they are training the calfs and notice how one big one maintain a distance as if to keep it from escaping while they train.
Yes that’s exactly what this is. Teaching hunting tactics depending upon what the prey may do. Much as some people learn by watching or hearing, there are others that learn from a hands on approach Scientists feel that orcas are considered more intelligent than every animal(perhaps even humans) and when comparing the brain to size ratio of orcas to other animals including us, they have the largest brains of any and all animals(sperm whales have the largest brain though, weighing on average 22lbs) and the emotion center of their brain(limbic system) is HUGE. I absolutely love orcas but hate when they attack whales. To see whales die makes me feel sick to my core, especially when all they want from the whales is their tongue. When they kill sharks all they eat are their livers and waste the rest of the animal 😭
The nature of the world is neither gentle nor kind. I understand that the orcas need to hunt to survive and to teach their young. But I always hope for some miraculous escape for the prey. Yes I'm conflicted. I can't help but admire the strategy of the whales to exhaust and cause massive internal injury to the prey while avoiding injury to themselves. Yet the seal clings to life, struggling to avoid the blows and gasp every life-giving breath. Fascinating and horrific at the same time.
I would disagree with the idea that the nature of the world is not gentle. There are many ways by which nature is gentle. Even here, as a mother protects her calf while teaching it. It's all in perspective.
My Ma was the nicest, little, old Asian lady and whenever she saw a hunting scene, especially involving a mother and its progeny, no matter what the circumstances, she'd say, "omg! I believe the orcas were 100% teaching the young in this clip. The poor seal is a sitting duck from the start and you can clearly see the mother doing dummy runs with the younger one having a go and the baby just watching. Amazing footage
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the large adults could have worn the seal down much quicker with their power and speed. But they seem to have left it as a training exercise for the juveniles, who were the most aggressive and energetic in the attacks.
Wow, to see an actual open water training session for the juvenile and baby girl! What an exhausting session for the seal...poor thing. It's cool to see the juvenile actually making the direct attacks, then the Matriarch and male incapacitating the seal over and over by flanking and striking it simultaneously with their flukes! Absolutely! This was a pod of adults training a child in the art of identifying and incapacitating dinner. We need to remember that those adults need food too - about 500 lbs of it daily. But the goal today was training a child.
Awesome footage. They could have killed that seal long ago, but it appears they were teaching the youngsters. A few of the big ones could have ended it at any time, but simply passed up on it for the younger ones. Great video!

14:25 While understanding that this is how the ecosystem and laws of nature work, with one species typically feeding on another, or even when a species feeds on its own (as bears, crocodiles, and alligators) to enhance the likelihood its genes will propagate over others, one must still have compassion for the sea lion in this video that experienced a long and arduous death. That being said, it is amazing how much the Orca calf learned throughout this hunting episode. At 3:32 the Orcas even have the calf on the inside (versus the outside as previously observed) where it could attempt a more consequential blow. Thanks to whoever filmed and edited this video. Too many have lame and annoying music and/commentary. And finally, thanks to @TylerReynolds for posting the video for all to sea! I'm looking forward to taking in more of your content soon. ✅Subscribed! ✅Liked!
We know Orcas are highly intelligent and capable of emotions/feelings because we've seen them time and time again CLEARLY show their feelings for family members. It doesnt seem they have any empathy for other animals. I know they were most likely teaching the younger ones how to hunt.......but 16 mins of torture? Cruel
For the orcas as well as the sea lion, this is life and death. To the orcas, the sea lion is just food that can bite back, and they show it no more empathy than you would a carrot stick.
SMARTER CRIATURAS.!! 🙏♥️🙏 MAGNIFIC VIDEO TAKEN.!! Thanks to the Drom Operator, 👏👏👏💙 this is Amazing 📽️... Is beautiful to know how other Spicie interact in they're own way. They can be from Playful to Stremally Direct and Terrifying but they own way to Survive!! 🙏
Wow I know they herd them but it almost looks like they are knocking it about before they catch it properly, people fear sharks but I'd rather be munched on straight away by a shark than played with by these whales. Scary yet beautifully done by them as a team x
That's what I was thinking. There was so much time when 1 bite could have finished this sealion off. I know they're teaching their young but why take so long ?
To be truthful, I’d take my chances with an Orca, as I have yet to see an Orca attack a person. One day, I honestly want to swim with a wild Orca. It has become a fantasy of mines to one day do this. I just think that those Orcas are so majestic in nature and in attitude. I do feel bad for the sea lion 🦭 but it is the circle of life. That silly silly Disney and all of their Movies helped everybody to think or believe that life is like a cartoon ( Smh ) 🤦🏾♂️
Unfortunately, there may come a day when that young orca won't be able to rely on its family to provide it with food so it needs to master these skills. Mastering skills takes time and there isn't always room for empathy. It seems cruel to us because we are so out of touch with what the world is like for wild animals but to them, it isn't cruelty or torture. It is survival.
@@dawntaylor7802 Two things to remember - 1) A sea lion is also a predator, with sharp teeth, and can injure a careless orca. 2) Because of the way their teeth are shaped, an orca can't just 'take a bite' out of the sea lion. Orca teeth are best suited to holding onto their prey, and orcas have to rip their prey into pieces small enough to swallow whole.
@@shawnkincheloesr5192 There is only one recorded instance of a wild orca biting a human. In 1972, a surfer near Point Sur, California reported being bitten by an orca. His wounds needed over 100 stitches. Some experts believe it was a young orca that mistook the wetsuit-clad surfer for a seal.
Reading the comments, it's interesting that some people were actually sympathizing with the seal. Watching predators hunt especially intelligent ones is fascinating. Respect for whoever took the time and filmed this.
No seal my friend. That's a Sea Lion, the same kind that occasionally attack people, the same kind that killed the woman researcher, biting her over and over and at the same time drowning her, dragging her down to depths over 100 feet deep then when shed get to the top he'd do it again, and again and again... Screw those evil bastards,I'm glad the Orcas tortured this beast.
Truly though its hard to accept something hunting the hunted especially when we try to envision ourselves as the prey, BUT it is an eat or be eaten world with predation ruling king. I am always on the orcas side until they attack whales; mainly because they believe whales to be sentient and highly intelligent and all orcas want to eat of whales are their tongues. Despite myself being a hunter I find this to be very sad. :(
If you notice the baby Orca is using it's tail like the adults. This could also be a teaching lesson for it. They don't want to risk getting a bite from the seal. So they are trying to stun/immobilize it before killing it. Or they are simply using there tails to do the killing. There are so many ways these "wolves of the ocean" operate when faced with different prey.
This is when they teach the young how to handle a live seal in open water which is harder for them believe it or not that’s why the older ones never let the seal swim down but great footage
However cruel this may be, humans are still the cruelest beast on our earth, sadly. Orcas are beautiful creatures of the seas and should "always be free where they belong"!! I do feel terrible for the sealion in its long enduring suffering. 😥 Have you seen how sealions hunt?? Also, not so nice. Yes, as many said, it is a brutal part of how they teach their young to hunt. I vividly recall watching"Orca" in 1977 with Richard Harris. At 5yrs old, not age appropriate. I still remember feeling so sad for the orcas even crying at sad parts. I recall seeing The Amityville Horror in theater the following year and was upset and crying only when they left the dog behind, which they do return for.
Does anyone understand what is going on? The seal seems to be alive and making to effort to get to shore. Two or three times the orcas seem to attack the seal, but there is no blood, and the seal still appears uninjured and moving leisurely, and not trying to leave the area. Does ANYONE understand?
Orcas don't really 'bite' their prey. An orca has teeth best suited for holding on to it's prey, and orcas have to rip their prey into pieces small enough to swallow whole. They can't just bite a flipper off. Also, remember that a seal/sealion is also a predator, with sharp teeth. While it may not be able to kill an orca, it can wound one, and the wound could become infected. Finally, there was the presence of the calf. Orcas do not instinctively know how to attack their prey. It is learned behavior, passed down mainly from mother to child. This was as much a training session for the calf as it was a hunt.
The seal seemed to have accepted it's fate at that point. The orcas managed to get it out in the open. There are more of them, and they are much faster as well. It would be hard for the sea lion to escape. Plus it's an opportunity for the older orcas to teach the young calf that you can clearly see among them.
I’m obsessed with orcas!! I love watching these intelligent animals teach their young ones!! These animals are the APEX predators of the oceans yet they don’t WAR! With bigger brains and extra frontal lobe they are far superior than us!
"They are far superior to us!" No. WE are the apex predators ...of this solar system. The concept of "war" is beyond their intellectual understanding. These animals are probably no more intelligent than wolves (a primitive form of which they actually evolved).

I have read quite a few of the comments and I believe all of you are pretty well on it's live or die and it's some other teaching the young how to hunt to survive without her at the same time you're always rooting for the underdog the seal is so small compared to these giant whales but how many of these orcas have we killed off there are hundreds of thousands of sea lions and very few orcas left matter of fact any whale we have hunted them all to almost extinct but it sure would be nice if you guys actually zoomed in and had some sound to it
They could've been killed it but they use sea lions and seals to train young. Obviously one sea lion couldn't feed one adult orca yet a pod. If you notice the 2 adult males just watch as the juveniles attack.
Well... obviously a single Sea lion couldn't sustain a pod forever. But they will never kill ten seals simultaneously. They kill one (of virtually anything, even fish) have a bite and repeat.
U see them hurt it and stun it ,then leave it alone then comeback and fourth ,they know sea lions are big and powerful especially when fighting for there lives ,there just very careful
I agree, I’m often sad my drone doesn’t pick up audio as well as video recordings, the whirring sound of the drone would take away from the sounds you want to hear, and would ultimately be a let down, in the end we probably wouldn’t get this footage without drones but I completely agree with your statement, I know this is a little late lol

Been into orcas since I was a kid in the 70's. That said I feel for the sea lion here.
That's a long time to be into the belly of an orca.
✅Liked!
And to think, that before that evil Eve tempted virtuous Adam, these critters were vegetarian!
Realy cool Footage! You now Robert M. Lehmann?
Estão ensinando o filhote a caçar! Magnífico!! Estou admirada com o tamanho do macho desse bando! É muito grande 😳. Orcas são magníficas!
beautiful. thank you for share. this family is residents o coming from north ?
They take playing with your food to a whole new level.
Who’s birthday is it cause this seal is definitely the piñata.
was the sea lion already stunned before filming? amazing water with the sun rays/color. great to have in 4k!
Thanks for the videos, like this videos.
What happened to the sea lion after 15:20 mark? Did it sink or dove underwater or was it swallowed by one of the orcas?
We know Orcas are highly intelligent and capable of emotions/feelings because we've seen them time and time again CLEARLY show their feelings for family members. It doesnt seem they have any empathy for other animals. I know they were most likely teaching the younger ones how to hunt.......but 16 mins of torture? Cruel
For the orcas as well as the sea lion, this is life and death. To the orcas, the sea lion is just food that can bite back, and they show it no more empathy than you would a carrot stick.
Humans are more cruel, not only that, greedy too, orcas only eat what they need, humans always want more
SMARTER CRIATURAS.!! 🙏♥️🙏
MAGNIFIC VIDEO TAKEN.!!
Thanks to the Drom Operator, 👏👏👏💙
this is Amazing 📽️... Is beautiful to know how other Spicie interact in they're own way.
They can be from Playful to Stremally Direct and Terrifying but they own way to Survive!! 🙏
amazing video capture
Does the sea lion look like it has a broken spine? You don't see it using its back flippers. 5:48 The death blow.
@@dawntaylor7802 Two things to remember -
1) A sea lion is also a predator, with sharp teeth, and can injure a careless orca.
Hadirrr 👍....ikut menyimak
An absolutely amazing video
4:18 watch the lil baby one try and mimic the adults to the side, possibly also trying to get the attention of the Sea Lion.
Tqu 4 the video
Seal: "YO! Drone dude...lower the grappling hook and get me out of here!"
It is cool to see them teaching the calf how to hunt. It would also be cool to see what that huge male would have done if this was a regular hunt.
Why doesn't the sea lion attempt to evade the orcas?
Orca menggunakan Taktik perang melumpuh kan musuh 👏👏👏👏
Does anyone understand what is going on? The seal seems to be alive and making to effort to get to shore. Two or three times the orcas seem to attack the seal, but there is no blood, and the seal still appears uninjured and moving leisurely, and not trying to leave the area. Does ANYONE understand?
Thinking the same.. is it the internal injuries? The seal did succumb right?
No they could be intelligent than we imagine but not far superior that's wrong bcz they are just animals not humane beings
"They are far superior to us!"
No.
WE are the apex predators ...of this solar system.
The concept of "war" is beyond their intellectual understanding.
These animals are probably no more intelligent than wolves (a primitive form of which they actually evolved).
@@abouelmaarif100 Gosh, what a bunch of narcissistic self-centered BS.
Does anyone think that this sea lion was hurt to begin with?
What a beautiful hunting..I love orcas so muche.
the sea lion is mostly dead from the beginning of the video. He was tortured before the video began.
Killer whales are cruel and brutal attacking the sea lion, a horrific sixteen minutes death
Training day for the younger pod members. Amazing coordination.
any idea why sea lion does not dive or swim away?
Coitadinho do leão marinho.🦭🐋
Is anybody else wondering how that seal got in that predicament, I mean it’s by itself in the middle of nowhere
I wish whale and shark hunters could face the same fate as this seal, awesome footage of one of the worlds smartest and fiercest, love me some killer whales, sharks, Lions and tigers!
Go search "orca Lamalera" on RUclips and have a good cry, hater!
....LOL!!! ....
Your fellow humans kick butt over killer whales, sharks, lions and tigers!!
Don't feel bad for the seal. They have to eat and there's no vegetables in the sea. I love how the mother is training the calf!
so cute watching the baby orca charging and learning
I have read quite a few of the comments and I believe all of you are pretty well on it's live or die and it's some other teaching the young how to hunt to survive without her at the same time you're always rooting for the underdog the seal is so small compared to these giant whales but how many of these orcas have we killed off there are hundreds of thousands of sea lions and very few orcas left matter of fact any whale we have hunted them all to almost extinct but it sure would be nice if you guys actually zoomed in and had some sound to it
yeah whales cant get a bucket of chicken at KFC..I wonder if any of these buthurt seal lovers have ever seen what goes on in a slaughterhouse
@@MMAFIGHTMAG It's training. Why would they spend hours killing one sea lion when they can kill it in one bite and move onto the next.
@@quisshmoov6313 they don't stay hours at all

What happened underneath next? Did the huge orca swallowed it or they shared?
U see them hurt it and stun it ,then leave it alone then comeback and fourth ,they know sea lions are big and powerful especially when fighting for there lives ,there just very careful
That's a leopard seal not a lion one
@@abouelmaarif100 they hunt sea lions and leopard seals , don't matter what it is
Greate video!!
This footage would have been ten times greater if it had sound
I agree, I’m often sad my drone doesn’t pick up audio as well as video recordings, the whirring sound of the drone would take away from the sounds you want to hear, and would ultimately be a let down, in the end we probably wouldn’t get this footage without drones but I completely agree with your statement, I know this is a little late lol
5:44 the calf with the direct hit
Tadinha do bicho. Fiquei com pena pq as orcas demoraram para come-la. Que agonia em ver essa cena. Sei que é a lei da natureza. E amo as orcas. No início pensei: nossa! Assim... Numa bocanhada só 😂😂😂 parabéns pra quem filmou issou. Um grande espetáculo.
The orca ist not a whale, it's a dolphin, the langest one!
It looks like they are just playing with their food. Poor manners.
Do they eat it or just play with it

Tyler Reynolds
I know this is nature’s way for the adult Orcas to train their young’ns, but dang, I can’t help feeling sorry for that sea lion being a living practice dummy. Wish I could’ve gone there in a rescue boat equipped with a 50 Cal. Barrett.
What species of sea lion are they hunting? Californian?
That's brutal, these orcas are just torturing that poor sea lion.
They're not trying to kill it at teaching the young and exercise in the sounds of an animal in distress and possibly echolocation very patient and amazing animals
Was this drone footage? The operator's battery must have been pushing zero! Ha. Great footage!
Yep! DJI Mavic 3
@@TylerReynolds I'm very much a novice drone pilot. I have a phantom 4 pro. I've captured nothing exciting. Your footage is awesome. I was watching the footage imagining my battery going dead and me being angry. Ha!

Poor thing. I wonder how far they were from land.
Couldn't have been too far could it at least I don't think they travel that far from land for this very reason. So sad but fascinating at the same time
That dam sea lion was trying bite back like hell like fuck that one of y'all coming with me
Why do Orcas have to play with their food before they eat it 😔 l. They're tossing that Sea Lion around like a football
