I was diagnosed with panic disorder when I was 11-12 years old. They were HORRIBLE. On a daily, I would have bouts of intense fear that hindered me from eating, going out or even functioning. The fear was so intense I would cry, shake, scream, and feel the chest tightness. The best way I can describe to ppl what it's like is like your brain and body are a car on top of a hill. Somebody pushes your "car" and it begins to roll down the hill. But when you push the brakes, they dont work and you just roll faster and faster and faster as the body of the "car" shakes and teeters and feels like its about to come undone. The only way it stops is when the hill goes flat...then who's to say when it'll occur again. And the vicious cycle repeats. Now I'm in my 30s, still dealing with this disorder but now I'm down to maybe once or twice a week of having an episode. And over time I have learned and used techniques provided by counselors and other veterans who suffer too. Grounding techniques, meditation (or deep prayer) doing a word puzzle, or even having my dog pick up on my cues of anxiety and then distracting me from those moments. I strongly strongly encourage counseling and learning calming techniques as ways to cope and gain back control. You are not crazy, or over emotional, or a burden. You're scared and that's ok. This can be handled but you have to WANT to regain control. Best to all of you who deal with this disorder.
UPDATE: I have made a HUGE improvement in my disorder. I'm down to maybe having a panic attack 1-2 times every few weeks. Therapy does work. I am proof. You can do it too if you are suffering! Good luck!

I am 45 now but I had what you have when I was doing gcse's aged 14-16 I went from top set of every subject to bottom set in two years I have only just been diagnosed with panic attacks and generalized anxiety disorder and now I am having further assessment for panic disorder which for me is my biggest issue. It's ridiculous they took 29 years to diagnose me, why else would they have put me on serotonin reuptake inhibitors aged 16 if I had no issue at all lol. I treated my anxiety with alcohol but that came back to bite me big-time. Sometimes medication is the only way but don't take snri's take ssri's as snri's are a mental health death wish they are old fashioned and in most instances damn right dangerous. I think I would have still had a manageable life if I hadn't relied on alcohol to get me through. Now I have to deal with all these emotions that I didn't live with because alcohol washed away the emotion and it came back 10 fold. You should look into anxiety disorder if you have learning difficulties when your at home if your issues relate to when your around teachers then it won't be generalized anxiety disorder. Gad is a quite permanent state of distress that affects incoming information far worse that outgoing information. I wish you luck it is possible to achieve your dream. Before you go to sleep put on headphones go on RUclips and listen to micheal sealey anxiety talk down you don't have to like it but it absolutely helps as does paul McKenna sleep hypnosis. It will cut down the time it takes to go to sleep if you listen to it regularly then for no apparent reason you will start to sleep better on your own accord, when you struggle to sleep again start listening again. Meditation is the only thing that works for me medication is a flip of a coin it works differently on everyone. The best thing you can do is to learn acceptance, you know you have a issue you know you will struggle in life but don't let it define you. If you have to do a repeat of your exams , so what!!! You can get there life doesn't have to be a rush. I know when I did retakes of my exams I had two years of knowledge which probably equated to a year and a half of knowledge and half a year I was staring out the classroom window and somewhere into outer space lol. The point is a year and a half of knowledge equated to better results than a year of revision did.

My world has gotten so small that I can only drive to places I know Or that are close to where I live, If not I don't go anywhere.
I have lost loved ones, friends as well as relationships being destroyed because of this.
I hate this feeling and Im tired all time. I want to live but this right here is not allowing me to do so.

This beginning part of the video described someone having a panic attack, panic disorder is much worse than this and this video is not an accurate representation of what panic disorder is. The symptoms of panic disorder are much worse. Feeling disconnected from realitly(things were not real),while floating, uncontrollable muscle spasms, cartoony vision and fearing of passing out were regular symptoms of mine and it was the worst feeling in the world. For years i thought i was terminally ill or had cancer that was going to kill me because i felt this everyday for years. I cant even begin to tell my story here. As someone who's libed with panic disorder for years (my first full fledged panic attack was at age 12)
    It does get better.
You need to learn breathing techniques, grounding techniques and learn how to control your focus.
I've just survived E.coli and sepsis, and my panic disorder's coming back horrendously. But, I can recognise it because I've lived with it for years.
I expect this relapse of PD to last a couple of months based on how traumatic my illnesses were on my brain and body. But I'm confident in myself and my abilities to overcome it, as I have every time I've had a relapse of PD in the past.
It isn't fun, but it does get better. I promise.

What is panic disorder? Answer: me! I’m literally losing my mind. I fear death, I have real symptoms that make me short of breath, dizziness , blurry vision, body cramps, hyperventilating. I’m afraid to go in public by myself, I’m afraid to sleep cause I fear I won’t wake up; when I do wake up I’m afraid to face the day; I’m neglecting my family my career and my life. It all started in October. It happens every second of the day. That is panic disorder. I need professional help and because of the pandemic, I can’t get in to see a psychiatrist until next month.but of course the counselor I see says breathing techniques will help. I’ve tried it all. There has to be help.

Im going to the hospital today, for this reason as theyre getting worse. I just need to understand how to control them. Im.happy to hear im not the only one who experiences this. Thanks for reading

As soon as I think that I have to do something, like buy costumes for halloween, or remake a certain part of the garage into a bedroom, or call the QTAC people for my results and how I can fix my mistakes on them. As soon as I think of doing anything productive - I immediately put it in the back of my mind like it is a secret that I have to hide. In fear of not having already done it, like I'll get in trouble because I haven't done it yet.
Then I'll hide from it, and if I start doing it, it's not a good feeling, so I question if I even want to do it at all.
But thank god, I did move to Roma this year for 4 months, and learnt so many new skills so that I could force myself out of my bubble and achieve my goals, for the year.

Well I think the panic disorder is way different than a panic attack. panick attacks comes more rarely while panic disorder is with you daily or almost daily. for me at the beginning it was every evening and now i get it randomly in daytime as well as before falling asleep. i fear of falling asleep i think im not gonna wake up and when i do wake up i feel tired. Every different sensation in my bodytriggers my panick attack, i feel like im gonna have a heart attack and i always feel the left side of my body weird or when i feel like fainting and dizzy i feel like im gonna have a brain seizure. my brain creates the worst worst case scenarios always. I feel dizzy, headaches daily, my chest and stomach is tight, my nexk is tight, cant breath, my brain is foggy, i feel my heart stops beating or it beats too fast, i feel my memory is shit now. Horrible sensations and it impacts your daily life but as you see, you are not alone and maybe the thougt that there are many many people suffering from this makes you feel less different and everyone here survived their worst panic attack. Im proud of everyone here that are trying to manage this by even looking up videos on yt. Maybe we all shoul be less afraid of death and whenever we have a panic attack be like ''fux this shit, whatever..''

Wildly but the symptom of having a tight chest and tense muscles and not being able to breathe and choking and being smothered has literally lasted for two years, like my muscles haven’t been the way that they have before i got my anxiety. I’m constantly tense. Every second of every day. Because of my irrational fear of death. I’m just constantly anxious that i’m just gonna randomly die. I can’t even relax. Relaxing makes it harder to breathe.

Panda Jaye Have you seen anyone about the issue? And trying to slow down and breathe through your anxiety while talking yourself down with logical thoughts that you will not randomly die are a start. You need to be able to get it in your mind that you aren’t going to just randomly die. I have seen a counselor about my problems and they know a lot more than I do. I’d recommend you go out and find a counselor to help you through your problems. I promise it will help you get back to where you were in time

Wildly I was seeing a therapist before quarantine but even then we didn’t talk about the problem. We’d get distracted cause i’d tell him about normal things that bothered me. And it’s not necessarily just the whole randomly die thing. It’s the fact that it’s “inevitable”. I’m just not comfortable with knowing it’s a thing that has to happen yet. Thanks for your words though. I appreciate your attention.

If you look up things like this out of beeing affected:
You will not die from it.
Your body sends you a false warning, you are not in danger
Your Fear and Anxiety is an overreaction that your sub-conciousness will learn to react this way, if you don't act quick
Most of the times you will have it in situations you can not easily walk away from
    What should you do?
Don't sit there and do nothing for years like I did. Seek therapeutic help as soon as you can get it. It's not a weakness to allow yourself to have a problem and also you're no looney. Trust me, every person you met was at a therapist sooner or later and 80% are cases like you.

Help me someone.... I smoked regular weed and did lots of opium for 4 years but the first couple of time I smoked spice (Synthetic Cannibis), I was extremely paranoid even though my friends who also did it first time said it felt amazing.... I used to feel pride in telling others im a hardcore drug addict so I did it again after somedays as I only took small puffs even though I didn't wanted to... and it would still give me panic attacks and I would walk around the room pretending Im having fun.... eventually I quit and started drinking too much... I was all right and clean of drugs for a year and than suddenly one day I had that dissoving in my psychical environmemt kind of feeling and it was horrible although I was completely sober at that time... I felt alright aftet few minutes and than after couple of day it happened again and was permanent.... now its been 3 years im 100% clean not even drinking coffee or any energy drinks.... and my psychosis is getting worse.... If i was just a little brave enough i would have already hanged myself.... i think abt killing myself at least 5 times a day.... ever since i was a kid i used to love thinking about the universe and as a teen i was very into simulation theory multiverse and solipsism and stuffs like that.... now my thinking habits are mixed with my psychosis and the world has become this ultra realistic 3d hell for me...even if i was sleeping on my mothers lap it wouldn't make a difference to how i feel.... Id rather get in an accident and die than experience one more psychotic episode and i know its comming in the next few minutes.... its been a year i have not even been inside a vehicle cause im extremely restlessness... if i sit on a sofa still i feel like the sofa is eating me... i know its just my mind but i actually physically feel it... its just as real as i can feel my phone on my hand right now.... even more real.... every night i have to fight with my brain to sleep i lie on bed for 3 minutes and get up immediately and walk around.... i feel sleepy but cant lie down... i rest my head on the wall and make myself extremely sleepy enough to lie down.... it takes hours for me to sleep like that every night..... this whole universe including my physical body has become a boiling water and my consciousness is the lobster..... when I wake up my only achievement in life is to go through the day and fall asleep at night peacefully... I think too much and i cant help it... the people around me sometimes look like different beings like they are objects and when they move and interact with me my mind refuses to belive that they are something alive... its like what a normal person would feel like if a chair starts moving and talking.... I have explained it to my family and friends ive seeked help on the internet and everybody says that i should be calm its only in my mind, it will go away eventually... "just dont think about it" is the worst.... I had an amazing mind... i could cheer myself up from any bad mood just by watching the orange color of the sunset... i would close my eyes for a long time and covince myself that the sky has been pink all my life and i open my eyes trick myself into believing that im watching a blue sky for the first time for a few seconds..... I would wonder does the smallest bacteria living on the tip of my nail know abt my existence??? Im a genuinely happy person and all of the ways i think my mind is amazing now i wish it wasn't... I wish i was dumb... i wish i had spent my childhood and teenage just like the rest of the kids.... i wish i thought more about girls, celebrities, sports and having fun rather that existence....
I wish I was dumb... maybe i already am or im just me someone who has no clue about his own self.... but nothing matters anymore cause my psychosis has convinced me that it wont let me go for the restof my life.... Im all fucked up and gone crazy all i can do is pretend that im normal so id just fit in... but i know eventually i wouldn't be able to pretend anymore and lose total control..... the thoughts of solipsism is stucked in my head that only my consciousness is real and everything else even my body is just its imagination....i put this comment on evry video i find useful cause the only thing that makes me feel better is that there are others like me... probably in worst situation than me... if you are... boy i know it fuckin sucks...if only there was a easy way to end it... anybody who reads this please say something back even if you think its useless.... say something to make me feel that the world i think is real is really real and not just my consciousness tricking itslef just like the pink sky....

    1. Know that you are not going to die
    2. Let it be don't try to control it don't think positive or negative
3 . Drink something cold or hot
    4. Exercise daily
    5. Eat healthy
    6. Meditate daily
    7. Breathe in slowly from noise and out from mouth for 4 min
8.know that your body has an addiction to the chemicals that is produced by panic attacks that's why it's hard to get rid of it.
It's painful to get things done but remember not doing is more painful
After a while you realise it's gone

I had a panic attack today. I was at a hair dresser and it was I guess expensive. I told my mom before I went that I didn’t want a lot off, or I wanted to get it to my shoulders, so we could go to a cheap place. My mom insisted we went to this hairdrssser, so we did. I told the hairdresser I wanted a little off. She took that as a half on an inch. I have anxiety, and I was too scared to tell her I wanted more. When I walked out, my mom looked disappointed. I felt terrible. I tried telling her my side, ans she started yelling at me. This triggered a panic attack. She called me dramatic and told me to go sit outside so I didn’t embarrass her. I ran outside and cried on a bench, trying to calm down. A police even drove over to me to ask if I was okay. I told him I was fine, even though I wasn’t. Eventually we left, snd when we got home my dad started cursing at me and telling me I am a baby. I am now debating what to do. I haven’t gotten a chance to explain what happened to my mom yet. She and my dad are both furious at me. I wrote a note and placed some money inside explaining I’m sorry. I would love someone’s advice.

In these last 2 weeks’ve started to have panic attacks I’ll throw up (I’ve only done that twice) ,feel like I’m having a heart attack, and many other symptoms of panic attacks. This has started because my sister caught covid 19 and I was so scared that my family and I would get it and my birthday would be ruined (it’s today April 14th btw). Even though we all were tested negative and my sister has quarantined somewhere else I stlll feel constant anxiety and fear of not knowing who around me has this virus I just want this pandemic to be done with so I don’t live in constant fear 😔💓 I just constantly feel over whelmed and since some of the covid 19 symptoms and panic attack symptoms have some of the same things I’m more paranoid than ever.

It feels like a heart attack is about to happen but everytime, it's a false alarm and turns out to be a panic attack.

      How are you now?

Nope. This is an extreme example. If you’re this bad, find a good doctor that will prescribe medications. Quick acting and the other type. First time I had a full blown panic attack, the most helpful thing was the medic that told me to look out of the window of the ambulance and find something to concentrate on and breathe. In through the nose and slowly let it all go. It worked, kind of. It went away, but I wasn’t able to speak for about a week. It was the weirdest thing.

I’m so sad right now, I have depersonalization/derealization anxiety disorder since I was 16 (I’m 20 now) and it has gotten a lot better, but it was still there nonetheless. Do I decided to finally get help. I was prescribed Zoloft and after 3 days on it, I couldn’t handle the episodes of anxiety it brought me. Any little sensation brought dizziness and slight unconsciousness especially considering I already have depersonalization. 3 weeks since my severe panic attack from Zoloft my psychiatrist and I think I now also have panic disorder. Paresthesia in my hands, shortness of breath or feeling like I’m not breathing enough, and dizziness, plus amplified depersonalization. Im just so sad right now, I’ve had days these past 3 weeks where I was completely fine almost, but recently it’s been getting worst (these past 2-3 days) and I think it’s because I also have some form of sleep apnea where im tired and sleepy at night but constantly stop breathing as im falling asleep, then waking up at night and not getting enough sleep which in turn amplifies my anxiety symptoms

I feel you! I was diagnosed with Panic disorder with depression this last month. I have this weird shortness of breath that feels like I'm not breathing enough... sometimes I feel dizzy and have blurry vision, and if I experienced severe panic, I'm having difficulty breathing, my hands and feet is sweating, I feel that I'm going to faint and felt dizzy and light-headed... after the minutes of attack, it will leave me a heavy chest tightness... that would makes me anxious through out the day.

In panic disorder first of all heart starts beating fast and you feel restless you feel like you are going to die. After that there comes loss of breath. You feel like you can't breathe. After that your hands become numb and you can't use your hands. Tingling sensation on tummy and your face starts feeling numb resulting in slurred speach. After that your body comes to normal. This is what is known as panic disorder. The main reason is stress. Panic disorder is curable and with medicines it goes away

Psychedelics are the reason why I didn't take my life when I was at my end. I was stripped of my ego and saw the beauty of life and interconnectivity and even though I still battle depression and anxiety, I'm going better everyday and never think in such a self destructive way again. All thanks to Dr. Adam

If you are in need of more support for your symptoms, the NAMI National Warmline Directory is a great resource, unlike a hotline for those in immediate crisis, warmlines provide early intervention with emotional support that can prevent a crisis - and a more costly 911 call or ER visit. The lines are typically free, confidential peer-support services staffed by volunteers or paid employees who have experienced mental health conditions themselves. Im sitting in my bed crying my eyes out not knowing what to do about my panic attacks. They’ve been getting progressively worse over past couple months and Last night I had the worst one I ever had, and today the whole day it feels like it hasn’t gone away. I’ve been in a state of tension and trembling for almost 24 hours, profusely sweating, arm going tingly and numb, tightness in my chest, nausea, feeling like I want to throw up, haven’t eaten anything in 2 days so nothing to throw up, muscles in your legs and thighs being so tense that when the adrenaline dumps, your muscles hurt after, feels lethargic and dizzy, god my muscles are really hurting from being so tense and the all the trembling. I hope everyone out there in the same boat can overcome this, I wouldn’t wish this feeling on my worst enemy.
