I cured my panic disorder in large part thanks to this video. Watching it for the first time, I realized that my clinical psychologist, my CBT books, all of my panic attack research, etc. were all saying the same thing! You just said it best and everything finally “clicked” for me! I’ve been living panic-free since 2017 :) Thank you a million times over!!

Just had my first panic attack a few weeks ago and it’s been non stop since, even went to the hospital looking for answers and ways to calm myself down. everything they told me did help calm the panic attack but it never got rid of it, just pushed it aside. Now when he told me to encourage my panic attack and just go with it, guess what happened? NOTHING!! I could not get myself to panic, or get my heart rate up at all, I was so calm trying to force a panic attack I couldn’t believe it. It’s like I’m not scared of it anymore, I’m not getting anxiety thinking about it, this video is a Godsend 🙏

It feels so good to read comments like this. They reassure me I'm not alone. Symptoms create anxiety, anxiety creates more symptoms. It's a vicious cycle. Also in an off and on attack right now, but I feel better already. The voice is so relaxing, typing this is relaxing. reading people having the exact same problem as me is reassuring.

Hi. Coming back to this 4 years later. Thank you so much for the videos and help. You helped me through it when I was at my lowest, and felt alone.
I first started experiencing panic attacks in 2017 every single day and it really ruined my life. I thought I would never recover and the help in my country was terrible. I remember finding these videos, and it really helped me during the worst period of my entire life.
The two things that helped me the most was the advice that:
    1) Panic attacks can't kill you
My main fear was that I was going to die, because that's what it felt like.
    2) I am strong
Being told I was strong for going through and dealing with what I was dealing with made my cry with emotions. It was hard, but I had never had anyone tell me I was strong for being able to go through what I was going through. That helped me a lot in a way I can't describe.
I haven't had a panic attack in over 2 years. I used medication for 1 month, which helped me through the worst of my condition. I was self medicating on weed for a long time too, but I realised, that was a major cause of my anxiety and would trigger attacks too (of course...) So I did end up quitting, and that was basically the end of my condition.
I do still get anxious from time to time, but I have learnt to manage and deal with it. I have breathing techniques which work for me, and I use CBD oil to calm my nerves. CBD oil is another godsend that has helped me live happily when I experience anxiety.
I thought the rest of my life would be cursed, but I was able to recover, and I can happily say I am panic free! Anyone reading this, you can too! You will find out what works for you!

I’ve been having bad panic attacks since February. I can write a whole novel about my life. I’ve been hurt by so many people including my own mom. I was once a rich kid that had everything and had all the friends in the world. My dad dropped out of high school and was made fun of a lot. My dad once told me money never changes you but it does change the people around you. My dad and mom got divorced and my dad lost everything but his faith. He was poor again as he was growing up. My dad has always been there for me and never lets me fail. I’ve been judged by everyone I meet because they find out I’m 23 and I still have my dad help me pay bills and won’t let me fail. I have a 7 month old son now and I’m working on curing these panic attacks so I can enjoy my life with my son and girlfriend. I was scared to ask for help until my counselor showed me this video and it made me smile. Thank you so much for putting this content and not charging people to watch the video. Your a angel that god sent to help us with anxiety and panic attacks.

    I agree.
I have been researching for years and have tried hundreds of meditations and psychologists on you tube. plus multiple like 20 personal psychologists CBT made me worse.
My partner and father and pet all died within a month leaving me bedridden for months.
I had panic attacks at the thought of getting up to make a cup of tea.
For Two weeks I've been listening every morning every night to your deep relaxation video plus any time in between i feel any anxiety.
I've listened to ever thing on your channel plus panic free TV multiple times.
For the first time in 15 years I'm starting to have an entire day I don't feel anxious.
    It's like having a holiday.
    Thank you sooooooo Much Michael.
Please please post more you tube videos.

It's kind of hilarious how you cover the fast heart beat as a trigger for panic if you're afraid of that, as your very first example. I have really high blood pressure, and the only panic attacks I've ever had were related directly to my concern for my heart. You also mention how not knowing what's happening, the confusion of that, can intensify the experience. Nailed it on that one too. I definitely thought I was going to die several times, and had lingering anxiety that lead to even more panic attacks. Eventually, somehow, I ran into the concept of panic attacks online and how they can affect you physiologically. That knowledge broke the cycle, eventually. It took me a long time, like months, to convince myself I actually wasn't going to die. Even the obvious fact that I hadn't died so far, through all my intense suffering and concern, did not calm me.
I wouldn't wish that on anyone. But, I'm kind of glad I went though the experience. I learned a lot.

    • @Basteal
      @Basteal 6 лет назад +49

Hah, that amazing. Clair Weeks said it takes months to desensitize the body. God I wish I'd known all this stuff.. I just had to take it on faith that I wasn't going to die, and hang on until my mind returned to normal. If anyone who's having panic attacks is watching this, please, do exactly what's outlined here. You'll continue to suffer for awhile, but eventually, you will become yourself again.

Coming off the effects of a panic attack right now and this video for sure helped! I think a lot of my anxiety comes from my health and my families health even though I'm would say I'm "healthy". My family has a history of diabetes, heart disease, strokes, you name it. And when I start feeling the symptoms of having a tight chest, shortness of breath, I start to go in full panic mode thinking I'm dying and then convince myself I'm having a heart attack and start mimicking the symptoms of a heart attack. It's not fun but thank you for sharing facts! They truly helped and I'm feeling optimistic about slowly overcoming these attacks! If anyone needs to vent or chat my inbox is always open, we can do this everyone!

What an absolutely calming voice you have. I could listen to it all day. I have always been afraid of men and their loud voices and so I react with "panic attacks" to them. Thank you for supplying this very necessary information for understanding the root cause and its cure. I feel much relieved that there is hope for me at 74.

You explain this very well! I've been getting panic attacks for a few years now. At first I was sure I was having a heart attack. Knowing that heart issues run in my family made it worse. I got checked out thoroughly and they said my heart was perfectly fine. Even now though, the thought crosses my mind and makes it worse.

Thank you so much!! I loved the video. I've have had sever anxiety and panic for years and my biggest struggle is the fear of having a panic attack when I face something that will trigger it. I find myself avoiding those situation and limiting my potential. I feel like I will have a attack in front of a patient and not be able to run and calm down. It is ruining the quality of my life. I have realized when meditating when I accept the energy I am feeling in my body it does subside, so I love that advice because it is sooo true!

Yes the paradoxical approach definitely worked for me yesterday!
I just let myself feel the rapid thumping of my heart and thoughts go in and out of my head and let the tingling build up in my hands and feet; and then i try tell my brain to make these feelings stronger, and strangely enough it causes them to go down. I felt so scared before, but now I feel more in control of my mind and body.
The strange thing about anxiety is, it comes out of nowhere. Idk what triggers it at times, but just allowing myself to feel it for a dreadful few moments, and then telling my mind to make it worse, helped to normalize me again and feel sane. So, thank you for the video!

I was honestly thinking this video would be another video that wouldn't help me. But boy was I wrong! I have thankfully only been suffering from panic and severe anxiety for a few weeks but it has changed me. This video has also changed me. In the best way! Thanks SO much for this incredible information. The "make it worse " scenario gave me the most perspective! brilliant.

Thanks for this video, I’ve been having one everyday. I went to the ER and got $17,000 bill and they found nothing. Even my labs where good yet I thought I was either having a heart attack or a stroke. My heart rate was up and my blood pressure was up a little so they knew something was going on. I had no clue what a panic attack was until a coworker told that she gets them too and sound like a panic attack. She lead me to your channel. I have tried your techniques and I can’t thank you enough.
