- Tonight, I made a couple of cards that are great for the guys in your life and I shared a fun technique using old books that I got at Goodwill. You can also substitute old sheet music or newspaper to create different looks. We had a few laughs tonight and I thank you all for helping me decide how to layout the dragonfly card! Tonight's quote was, "We are more powerful when we empower each other."

My favorite is the Dragonfly card, love it. I've used stock market page from a newspaper for a Wall Street type of guy which he loved.

I have a couple of old Stampin’ Up sets that have motorcycles, old automobiles, exotic animals and forest animals like bears, moose and etc. Trees also make wonderful masculine cards.

It looks nice of craft paper and I LOVE the idea of the way you showed how to cut 3/8 " ....I'm better at cutting at the whole , 1/2 , 1/4, , 3/4 inches but I always get confused about finding the 8th of inches lol

Speaking up as a librarian - I love any and all books. The cards are beautiful. You are using book pages in a new creative way. All books are not created for forever.
Thank you for your comment! When my father died I donated his Harry Potter books to my school library. He loved the series and I know he would have enjoyed the use that the books got from the students at my school. I've recently had three of them returned to me because they are beyond use! The spines are cracked in the pages are falling out. I have them tucked away on a bookshelf and was unsure as to what to do with them. This is a wonderful way to have the books continue on. 😁

I used Art Glitter Glue (liquid) and it doesn’t make your cardstock lumpy looking at all but thin book pages does wrinkle and get lumpy looking, Gina! Love ❤️ this card idea for different card ideas... I’m going to try it with old magazine pages for background designs also! So I just found several of my old Bibles that have lost pages and are falling apart. Maybe I will try this technic. Thanks for sharing.
Antiquing Hebrew script (download and print - mechron mamre I think is a site!!) I always want to use the Bible but feel weird tearing out verses but you have a brilliant idea 👍🤔❤️

I made paper flowers out of book pages for my daughter's wedding a few years ago. They were beautiful. We used books no one wanted anymore.
I was laughing and thinking about Toms parking ticket card and I thought matchbox wheel tracks would be hilarious! 😂... so many possibilities for a masculine card. Thanks for a great evening
I love winging it when I make cards, so you are my kinda' gal! First off, I have a few old/ discarded hymnals that were replaced when they were beyond repair. I keep them for crafting but find the print to be a bit oversized for A2 cards. I photo copy and reduce to remedy that, as I have also done with full sheets of music. I also use old maps, and if I need a specific map location to personalize the card I print out a Google map of the relevant area. Zoom in or out, print in color/grayscale/monochrome - and you can customize to your heart's content. My computer and printer really do earn their keep. Jean Nate is still available! My grandma used it (I am 68) so it brings back memories for me. I bought 2 plastic Jean Nate dusting powder containers (still full!) at a thrift store, tossed the powder, washed them to repurpose for storage. I am still get a whiff and a memory when I retrieve something from inside.

Fun cards. The offset style of the first one with the bird balancing it is especially gorgeous. And the light shading with the blender brush made it extra elegant.

What a fun video! I'm sorry I missed it live. I have that deckle trimmer and I love it. I also picked up an old dictionary last summer to use in cards.... Time to break it in!

You mentioned about sheet music and I found some of my sheet music from high school choir days (many moons ago 🥴) and I kept a lot of it to do some cards! I didn't realize this was filmed 2 years ago. But I have something I want to say about the negative People who give you a thumbs down! I think that's one of the rudest things I have heard. Even if it is" horrible," if they don't like whatever it is you're making, They don't have to watch It. I think everything you make is amazing. I got some books that were headed for a dumpster. They had been donated and were missing pages or the backs were broken.
I donated some money to the charity. No damage to the environment and my conscience was clear. I had a great time. I've also gotten ripped fabric and
