Whenever you hear people talk about famous bass players, rarely, if ever, is his name mentioned. Yet, none of the greats can do his style like he does.
Kenny is too good. last time I caught Brand X, his playing was precise and totally smoked. Watching him was crazy, like he was having a walk in the park...he made it look too easy. Also have to give him points for acknowledging how great Frank Katz was on the X-Communication album (something too many Brand X fans overlook).
Brand X, Bruford, Holdsworth best rock bands. Solid compositions being part of it. Saw Brand X & Bruford double bill 1980 Portsmouth Locarno. Nothing like them now. A memory to treasure
This is a wonderful find. I loved Brand X and they came and went, but they made such an impact with their talent and association with Phil and Prog Rock. They have that Gong/Allan Holdsworth feel. Its great to be able to hear and see so much of their best work that got lost in the '80s.
I’m sooooooo glad you are preserved for those of us who never had the privilege. One of those rare ensembles that stick in my brain. Soooooo goood……..talent, immense. Great sound running round inside my brain🙂😍
Un groupe de musiciens fabuleux qui me font vibrer chaque fois avec des mélodies très fortes, un vrai voyage , Merci à vous c est un vrai bonheur de vous écouter
...wow! I grew up with Brand X as a teenager. What can I say? 1st: So sad, that John passed away last year, he left his memories on the great vinyls we all have, 2nd: Percy Jones is the best bass guitar player in fusion jazz and beyond! 3rd: Robin, is that you on the keys? 4th: The drummer is so close to the original, great talent! 5th: Where is Maurice Pert...? Conclusion: I miss the seventies so much... but as we all know, all things come to an end... sad but true!
Always thought this percussionist was completely unneeded in this particular ensemble. Reminds me of the guy you let in the band because he owns the PA; you let him stand in back and bang on a few things.
Yes but in this case he was the manger, who continued to pretend that he was Brand X after being issued a cease and desist letter from Jones and Lumley.
When will Percy Jones finally get his international recognition as an outstanding bassist?

As long as you and I like him, who cares?😜 many thirsty horses at this trough, alas.
He and Jaco are already super special!
Who else is there?

RIP John Goodsall. Thanks for every damned note, and there were a lot of them!
I know I can’t believe it. It makes me so heartbroken
Nice comment.
When did he pass?!🤘😿🤘
Top top top
The sound quality of this video is what this band deserves. Truly amazing! Have been a fan since 1980
John Goodsall(g)
Percy Jones(b)
Chris Clark(key)
Scott Weinberger(per)
Kenny Grohowski(dr)
Nourished by their music since the late 70’s. Memories that give reality some eternality.
Percy's sound is so unique...
One of my fave bass players, sure on my top 5.
Yes! Pastorius, Jeremy Mick, Percy Jones, Stanley Clark, Mick Karn in my opinion...

Give it up for Kenny on drums! They always find great drummers.
lest we forget Mike Clarke
@@keaveny63021 Yes. Not Good Enough - See Me! Such a killer drum song. Percy too.
Add Kenwood Dennard to the llist. All were TOP drummers

The King of Burps........
Love Percy Jones.
Best bassplayer ever...
He’s one of them but no one is the best. Just as good is Michael Manring and there are many many other greats.
His tone is one of a kind.

Percy Jones, such a beast on the bass.
Brand x played the Tower theater in Philadelphia during the product tour with Phil Collins
Amazing performance - wow - this seriously deserves more views and likes! Get on it!
BRAND X ...
Unappreciated in their time.

Thanks very much for this. Been a fan since the 70s, got all their albums. They can still do it. Great stuff.

That's the amazing Chris Clark on keyboards. Check him out on Band Geeks on RUclips, "Close to the Edge" ( Yes cover )....
Morris Pert long gone, sadly. 2010
The drummer is Kenny Grohowsky.... Really really fantastic
Excellent !
Saw this tour...Sellersville PA ...Brand X never came to philly...They called it the first and last concert...
Hey, that’s the guy who played CTTE with Band Geek on keyboards!
Fantastico!!!! Percy, John and Robin!!! Three from the original band
That’s Chris Clark, not Robin Lumley. They do look similar though.
Классная композиция.

THE FULL LIVE IS POSSIBLE ???
Phil collins 's band too . All geniuss
Very Mahavishnu/John McLaughlin-like. Nice.
Pretty tame version; maybe it's the sound. No oomph.
Missing Phil, though Kenny's drumming is equally great ...
