      I also think using a blender may be easier to make gravy instead of using the stove.

    Bravo! I have both instant pot, Halogen oven w/extender. I am thinking "Halogen" now. I really liked the gravy. MOst people just thicken with corn starch. Using the spuds as thickener seems a good idea. Another idea could be instant mashed potato for a thickener.

    2 👍👍 up.
    It's just my 2 dogs and myself and I bought 1 NuWave air cooker, taken another as I cook alot of chicken for my Rhodesian Ridgeback and Jack Russel/Blue Header male dogs.
    I haven't tried a full chicken orcturkey, but just bought a 15 lb. Turkey for us for Thanksgiving and going to try your recipe.
    I'd like to cook some potatoes and maybe carrots with it though.
    What ever recipe's do you have.
    I've mastered a frozen pizza in it and without a doughy crust or inside.
    Figured out a couple simple tricks and it turns out awesome.
    I gave a couple steamer pots and another air cooker but a generic name of exact same design cheap at a garage sale...
    Happy Thanksgiving my friend... 🦃

    Do I have to use the extender ring?

    • @RobertBogetti
      @RobertBogetti  4 года назад

      It depends on the size of the turkey. If it fits with some room on top to allow circulation, then it's not needed. Thanks for watching!

    That gravy is a great idea. So it just some vegetables and the trukey juices. Then blend. No flower. My wife might eat that gravy as she normally does not like gravy. Will update after thanksgiving to let you know if she does.

    Thanks for posting, Bob. This video is waaay better than the one from NuWave itself. I need to get an extender ring and try this. I make my gravy the same way! Sorry if I missed it, but what did you end up doing with the bag and neck?

    Did you remove the plastic holder for the legs and the thermometer that comes inside the turkey before cooking it in nuwave?

    • @RobertBogetti
      @RobertBogetti  5 лет назад

      I can't remember if this turkey had a built-in thermometer or not. In either case, both the built-in thermometer and leg holders are made of either oven safe nylon or metal and be safely left in the turkey unless the label on the turkey specifically states that the leg holder must be removed. Thank you for watching!

      @@RobertBogetti I will do the veggies just like you did for the gravy but will also stuff it with the same veggies inside to use for the stuffing later as well. some videos have the turkey put in the opposite than you . Does it matter ? Im trying it now your way ? I call your way upside down from traditional served way . Thanks for the gravy part IM on Atkins again and was dreading using flower !!

    • @RobertBogetti
      @RobertBogetti  4 года назад

      You are very welcome! Either way is fine, traditional way is breast side up but many prefer breast side down as it may keep the breast meat more juicy. Keep in mind when roasting breast side down that the skin won't be crisp like it would be in breast side up, unless you flip it over for a few minutes at the end to crisp it up. Happy Thanksgiving and thanks for watching!

    • @glenthecarguy
      @glenthecarguy 4 года назад

      @@RobertBogetti thanks so I was using my newave half and half ... you say breast side down then at the last 15 minutes or so turn it to get breast side crisp? My turkey was 175 degrees but still looked slightly reddish inside although the white meat was juicy ? I noticed the pop up attachment did not go off so I put it in . DO we rely on the plastic pop up or thermostat . ?

    • @RobertBogetti
      @RobertBogetti  4 года назад

      A thermometer is much more accurate than the popup device. As long as the temperature is 165 or higher it's fully cooked. Occasionally you will see some pinkish or reddish spots but that's ok as long as it's 165 or higher. Make sure to check the thickest part of the breast and the thickest part of leg or thigh, usually the breast is the last to reach final temperature.

    Just picked up a NuWave Pro like the one you are using, same color even, for $5.00 getting ready to try it on a turkey, we had chicken last night.
    I must say I've always wanted one and now that I have one I'm impressed, can't wait to see how the turkey turns out, and I love the gravy like this instead of flour.
    I would like to know what brand of ceramic peelers you are using, as I find so many different ones on the web, all with different cutting thicknesses.
    Thanks, Jack
