    The last level 3 holster was so dark I couldn't see the various retentions.. so closeup camera shots would have helped. I have no idea what you pressed or how the firearm is retained.
    The first three holsters were easy to see.

    If I were to use a Level 1 Holster For OWB Carry; I would make sure the retention is really tight (So Tight that I would end Elbowing someone If they were standing behind me while I draw).

    I am afraid Safariland considers friction a retention. They have released videos saying it and I just looked at the level 3 holsters on the website. The unlocking of the ALS ( Automatic locking system) and SLS ( Self locking system) is retention points on the gun, just because you used 3 steps to unlock it does not increase the hold on the gun.

  • @DTreatz

    What was the one with the hood that shoots forward with ALS button? I think thats the one I'm looking for. I want the button to send the hood forward.

    I will open carry my revolver with leather snap-strap retention. The snap is on the outside of the holster. Not ideal, but better than my “plastic” friction-only holster.
    Open carry is dangerous, so some form of risk mitigation is required.
    A perp would have to think to unsnap prior to taking my weapon.
    YMMV

      I will never, ever understand open carriers. Like the only logical explanation I can come up with is they just want the attention, they're hoping for drama to unfold or someone to call the cops so they can whip out their phones for some likes. Tactically it makes no sense. You're quite literally telling the bad guy who he needs to take out first :/

    Should have reviewed the most common for civilian use in the Serpa rig. It’s smooth and slick as long as your movements are 100% coordinated. But hit the button a FRACTION of a second behind the grab and you won’t draw. I’m sure that’s the idea but the button also isn’t very precise.

    • @Chris09978
      @Chris09978 2 года назад +1

      Most level 2 holster are considered duty holster, you may need to find one that’s custom, if you want better retention of your holster carrying OWB to my research that I have looked at from RUclips and web searches is basically tighten down the screws but don’t over tighten it otherwise your gonna have a hard time drawing out your pistol, if you are going with a leather holster they do make that loop over the back of the pistol, for kydex it’s more so on the custom side, I don’t know personally who makes those types of holster that does that, but that type of concealed carry retention you want for an OWB that is more common for leather holster
