Casadh An tSúgáin

James Barry and myself have always been big fans of Micheál Ó Domhnaill going right back to the early eighties. RIP Micheál. Here we are with a duet of Casadh An tSúgáin from the Bothy Bands 1979 album After Hours. The song is basically about a man trying to win the heart of the woman he loved, but to no avail. Her mother didn't help either!
Different versions of it out there but I always veered towards the Bothy Bands version. Joined by Adam Shapiro on fiddle, I added in bass and strings myself afterwards. Manys the night we sang it in Fahys back in the day.
