New subscriber here: I was just searching the capabilities of the jassm missle. Did not expect to be taking out on a mission in a F-16 (who does that lol) 😂 … I paused and started watching from the quest 3. AWSOME video ❤
Nearly all European nations has their capital close to the edge of their country, or close to the sea, just like the USA. Close is a relative distance but Moscowy is also close to the western boarder with 9000km(?) more to the east.
@@grimreapers It's totally the Chinese. They're trying to trick the US defense engineers that watch this into clicking the links so they can get trade technology secrets for spicy pictures and videos.
I think you are the bots, just liking every video without criticism. This video was so lame, you die in game but you tell your friends what the AI is doing so they can dodge the bandits, while the AI has already 2 IQ in almost every situation. It’s stupid, not fun, except for bots.
@grimreapers I have a small clarification for the author of the channel, it is correct not Kiev but Kyiv. Russians call it Kiev, but in Ukrainian it sounds like Kyiv Great video👍
The difference between the JASSM's is basically the engine. The A has thirsty but cheap & reliable turbojet, while the B has a frugal but expensive turbofan.
Funny thing, on one of the F16s tail it said "I need ammo, not a ride!". That's supposedly what the Ukrainian President, Zelensky, told US Intelligence Agencies when they told him Russia was expanding the "Special Military Operation" on invading Ukraine and heading for Kiev! Another excellent video SuperCap and Crew!
For the Pansir, i just know how the swedish air defense system works. And while it looks kind of similar to the pansir on the surface it works very differently. The Pansir have two linked 30mm autocannons that fire at a very high pace of fire. While the radar does the main work of aiming. The actual hitting the target is done by loads of ammunition in the sky. The issue with this method is that the smaller the target is, the less likely you are to hit it. Shoting at something as small as a consumer drone at a good distance is simply very hard to hit, even with multiple bullets. Swedish SPAAG LvKv9040 (while its not in Ukraine specifically i would suppose the system it uses is or some similar system) use a pre fragmented shell with 1300 tungsten pellets and a small charge. The system program the shell to fire at a specific distance. This is different to something like a proximity fuse that blow when the target is as close as it can be. The programmable fuse on the LvKv9040 can be programmed to be fragmented a head of the target. So if you have a large target you typically with fragment it just in front, or possibly even inside, but if you have a small target you fragment it a long distance before the target. This way the pellets have more of a time to spreed and the drone the flys in to a cloud of BB size tungsten pellets doing mach 3. The computer can figure out how large the target is to not fragment the shell to early so it can slip throw the cracks, but also not to late, to make the cloud as large as possible. So the cloud could be something like 10 meters in diameter before it hit the drone and still have 2 or 3 pellets hit the drone that probobly would take it down. I bet they have some kind of smarts in the system that figure out the perfect distance to have a mix of having the cloud as big as possible at the same time have the saturation sufficiently high to get a high kill ratio. If cause, if its fail, you can just fire a other shell (They probobly fire a burst of a few shells at a time)
It's "Pantsir," not "Pansir." The system includes missiles and has electro-optical/infrared targeting, which is excellent against stealth targets like JASSM. The rounds also use an AF34 fuse, offering a similar effect, and it can fire up to 10,000 rounds per minute. The LVKV 9040 and Pantsir-S2 differ significantly in design, purpose, and capabilities. The LVKV 9040 is a highly mobile SPAAG, optimized for close-range air defense, especially against helicopters and low-flying aircraft. In contrast, the Pantsir-S2 is more versatile and powerful, capable of engaging a wider range of aerial threats at longer distances, making it ideal for protecting strategic assets.
@@riskinhosand yet pantsirs fail to protect the s300/400 batteries and pretty much anything of value, like Crimea fleet HQ or a submarine in dock. Repeatedly.
Capt I think that Ukraine will at some point get the B variant of JASSM as it will allow them to hit the strategic bomber bases in and around the area of Murmansk
I heard from Ukrainian air defense experts that the main advantage of the Gepard is its ammunition. In short: it explodes when it is needed and makes the required amount of fragments. These characteristics give a high percentage of hits. Russian air defense cannon ammunition is far worse than the Western equivalent. P.S. Thank you for the video about Ukraine. It is always a joy for me.
I think half the time, the systems aren't even operational. Imagine how boring it must be to be an S400 crew in Crimea. MONTHS of living in a truck, with nothing happening, having to wake up at all hours to refuel, cus...no fuel, no power; No power, no radar. I wouldn't be at all surprised if, after something gets hit, it only takes a few days for the crews to go back to drinking vodka and playing cards. Crimea is pretty flat. It shouldn't be so difficult. Then again, wasn't the CEO of the company that makes S400 arrested when it turned out he's told a pack of lies about its capabilities? Or maybe that was the S500. But if he lied about one, why believe he'd be telling the truth about the other?
@@ashscott6068 My personal favourite is the whole "S-500" missile debacle - the S-500s 77N6-N missile is basically just a 9M82M from S-300V4 with a larger booster section. A much, MUCH larger booster, resulting in a stupidly big missile. Long range tactical ABM engagements happen at high altitude where the atmosphere is thinner, which means the missile's control authority is lessened dramatically. All high-end ABM capable systems have used an attitude control system to combat this (PAC-3, THAAD, SM-3, Aster etc)... but the russians have never had any experience or expertise in developing a complex ACS, so they went the other way - a very russian way. Just make the missile ungodly big, I mean fucking enormous, with an absolutely massive booster to make it faster. The 77N6-N/1 is absolutely fucking colossal for a theater level ABM missile. A single TEL can only carry two missiles - which are absolutely shit in comparison to western systems, even if we believe russian propaganda numbers, which are absolute bs. THAAD's Talon wipes the floor with 77N6-N, and a THAAD TEL carries 4x more missiles. The russians also went with a massive blast-frag warhead instead of a hit-to-kill system, which further increases weight. Instead of going all high-tech to solve a difficult problem, the russians just went "well let's just make everything bigger" resulting in a massive missile which has already been shown to struggle intercepting TBMs from the 80s. Even if the system performed better, one launcher can only engage one target (if we assume two interceptors per target, which is the norm) before its magazine is depleted. The only "good" thing about the 77N6-N/1 is that it can target ABTs. That's it. The upside to russia's premier theater level ABM missile is that it can hit aircraft. I think that's pretty funny.
IIRC the fuse on the JASSM is more precise than the one on the stormshadow. So while both have a "borach" type the JASSM is can be specifically programmed for a particular point before exploding. There is a video of the Pantsir trying to shoot down drones with its gun during an exercise and it fails miserably. Has to use a missile to do it in the end.
My view on why Russian gear is inferior is the same as Chinas problem - Tofu Dreg - every hand along the path dips in and takes some for themselves, meaning the funds allocated for a project or weapon system has to use cheaper substitutes than were designed and funded for.
I think it has more to do with the communist idea of mass production they put more steel in the air for the same results but putin didn't get the memo he doesn't have 400m people to support his delusion
9:18 CAP, I think the DOD should give you all the true RCS of all the stealth equipment. Then you could make these vids more realistic. We deserve that.
I used to say that the Pantsir was the only piece of Russian kit that I would want. Their actual performance has disabused me of this. The Gepards have no trouble hitting cruise missiles with their guns. Seems like they are giving up on a gun a little early.
Your humor cracks me up Cap, "try not to die, that's my only advice", hahaha. I love your videos and all the guys flying with you. Please keep up the great videos!
JASSM-ER guarantees long endurance with an explosive finish when taken within four hours of expected combat operations. Do not operate heavy machinery besides fighter jets when taking JASSM-ER. See a doctor immediately if a combat mission lasts more than four hours, as this could cause permanent loss of combat effectiveness.
Knock knock, "Ukrainian UPS, We have a package for you!!" 😂😂 The west is using Ukraine as a testing ground for newer weapons. Russia is like "Oh you're front line infantry? Here's a Mosin Nagant!!" 😂
In Ukraine, we have a very cool Nova Post (Nova Poshta in ukrainian) delivery service, and they are already opening their branches in Europe. In Germany, it seems, there is already one
Imagine if we made a full stealth missile. I imagine the JASSM is stealth in shape, but no RAM. While everyone is so concerned about hypersonics, they better hope we don't decide to start adding RAM to some of these missiles. Personally, i think we should add it to the aircraft launched LRASM. Sure, on land an enemy might collect some debris from a JASSM. However, at sea, are they really gonna get an ROV to pick through the wreckage of a sunken ship to hopefully find a piece of US RAM? That's a needle in a haystack of needles... under the ocean.
Cap - that was a perfect balance of science and action! A detailed and realistic scenario, you walked us through how the JASSM might be used, we could see the layers of Russian defenses based on latest info (SA-11 and legacy Su-27s up front, S-400 and Su-35/MiG-31 further back). But you also pushed it to create a "dustup" with the Russian fighters to get some exciting action, and show us how deadly the Axehead can be. Grim Reapers videos at their best - great job!
I think the difference between the Gepard and the Pantsir is the difference between German engineers and Russian engineers. The Germans expend a lot of effort sweating the details to make things work, while the Russians are more geared towards making things now!
China is almost entirely reliant on H-6 bomber variants for long range strikes. They are planning on putting a stealth bomber into service similar to B-21 in design but it is unclear when this will happen as it is still in development.
Even the Block 50 F-16 C/D didn't have a moving map. I worked on the original Horizontal Situation Display software on the MFDS and it could only show waypoints for navigation but no map.
Could you please model what United States Marine Corps aviation could do against a Chinese invading force if they were stationed in Taiwan ? ( Harrier jet, F-18 and a small number of F-35s, around 30 aircraft in total ) ( using weapons that would be readily available in the next few years )
Realistically the Harriers and Hornets would probably stay home as they are being phased out. F-35C are reserved for large carrier duty. That leaves just the modest amount of F-35B available for a forward deployment.
2:35 that's not what "danger close" means. It means you're shooting something that's close to friendly forces. It has nothing to do with the danger or proximity to the shooter.
Cap! A request: we would like to see a new take on the Kerch bridge 2024. S-500 defended, heavily defended, we would like to see a comprehensive strategy involving ATACMS, Scalp AND Taurus (maybe aviation support?) This would be really nice to see, if you would come up with something fun! Thank you team, you're great! 🤘🏻
A letter forcing him to tell then what the sources are for the information he uses to put these video's together. Pretty much all public information from wikipedia and such. now Cap lists the sources of all information he uses. And it wasn't Leeroy Jethro Gibbs that sent the letter😂
Well considering they're constantly updating their radars, and Russia has proven to be 20 to 30 years behind in technology, it would still make the gebhard better
I think it's hilarious to imagine Cap, after being shot down and floating along in his parachute, still guiding the crew from his headset and a big ipad. 😂
Cap, I’d love to see some us vs red dragon… Could RD faint a “military exercise “ to ‘surprise attack’ Okinawa?… Okinawa knows the exercise will take place, but it’s a us forces “at the ready” stance.. they’re not actually prepared for a ‘full-on-surprise attack’… Day One: Surprise! Day Two: remnants vs remnants Day Three: *could be a week later* reinforcements vs reinforcements Day Four-1: extrapolate results of day 1-2-3…. Could Red Dragon side deliver a final “decisive blow “ with extrapolated forces remaining? Day Four-2: extrapolate results of day 1-2-3…. Could US side deliver a final “decisive blow” with extrapolated forces remaining? How imperative are the US’s ally forces in such a scenario? These could be played out two ways… strictly and only US forces vs the East… and they could be played out with Ally forces that could be able to support US forces (South Korea, Japan, Australia, Philippines) etc… I’d expect US parody, give or take, given a one on one conflict…, but given international/ regional support, I don’t think the East has a prayer of a positive outcome!!!
An idea for a video: What can Ukrainian F-16 do with Aim-174B? Perhaps hunting Su-34s with glide bombs (bombing range 40 km from the front line, altitude 12 km)? Parameters: the presence of real Russian air defense: MANPADS, TOR, Buk, S-400, Su-35 with R-37. Do not fly behind the front line. Perhaps in reality (there are rumors), Ukraine has several F-16s with improved radars (block 72 level). Try to use an analog of the Swedish AWACS.
I forgot. The F-16 has a electronic warfare system. Maybe it will help for a successful mission. Also, F-16 should be with a drop tank. After all, in real life you have to fly a long distance. And there is no need to take AIM-120 or other missiles. Only two Aim-174B missiles. After all, this is a hit-and-run mission.
Why would NATO (America) give Ukraine their experimental long range missile? It's something meant for the Pacific fight and there's probably some tech that they don't want the Russians getting their hands on
Equipment including aircraft are better in DCS than in actual real world conflicts is because the USA understates its capabilities while Russia overstates its capabilities. For example the maximum speed of the SR71 is still classified but we all call it Mach 3.4
They were just trying to find out where he was getting his information. They didn't say why but you can assume he was getting close to fairly accurate scenarios. Because of that he gave them access to his accounts to show that he was getting this off wikipedia.. it's also why you'll see links much more in the descriptions now. But nothing came of it other than that
For those Russian bot they said russia has puntsir or S400 or BuK in syria turkey easily destroyed 15 pantsir m2 with TB2 Bayraktar-Akinci they jammed radar and use electronic warfare
These Pantsirs were Syrian and were on the move, not in combat mode. And I’m sure there were a few, but definitely not 15, as you write, young propagandist. In Ukraine, Bayraktars showed themselves to be complete trash.
@grimreapers Cap when you're doing these Ukrainian simulations can you translate the places in Ukraine from Ukrainian to English. It should be spelt Kyiv.
I gave the 600th like and made the 83rd comment. What is the significance of this? There isn't any. It just gives me something to comment about to help out the channel.
Can you not program the Patriot to attempt intercepting A2A missiles like the RM 37? From what is published, there is no technical reason why the Patriot could not intercept.
These weapons are not scheduled for delivery for months and when/if they do arrive the US will not allow them to be used in Russia. So just pointless and expensive door stops really.
Just curious, I know some of the guys implemented a chainsaw, but would it be beneficial to have two aircraft, one high and lead, and #2 low in trail perform chainsaw? I am just guessing, the high passes data of the angels10+ and the low scans angels10- and thus avoiding any slippage (maybe 🤷♂) and in this as high turns cold low proceeds high to engage. I had a brainfart watching this as a possible solution to track low movers. Personally I would have 2x2 chainsaws on main groups and the rest of the vipers playing zone to fill gaps, just to defeat/deter first wave before exfil. IDK I am assuming if you just turned and ran the opfor border fighters would just chase you down right? so defeat/deter them, than run before the su35 and migs engage. But you know what they say about plans "they never survive first contact with the enemy" Love what you all do, and I appreciate the effort and hard work it must take to set up these missions. Cap you are a legend among legends as is the rest of the GR team.
@@Cr1zza wäre es so einfach , dann hätte wir es auch schon gemacht . BTW für Stormshadows sind Briten und Franzonsen dort . Dafür sparen wir paar Millionen
Well the working theory is some of his scenarios and or aircraft / missile performance are close to being way too accurate?? Which just proves you're getting pretty good scenarios if you've got them interested in where the information is coming from. And it's also why he links any week Wikipedia articles where he gets this information from so they are satisfied. You got to remember several members of the gr group are either current or ex-military so they're just wanting to make sure nobody's talking that shouldn't be
Some of the mods that they use, specifically the one with the cruise missile they were using, is not compatible with a human flown aircraft. Which is common with a lot of the mods they use. It's just a limitation of DCs at its current state
All russian GBAD systems have had strangely big issues when it comes to intercepting drones, cruise missiles, glide bombs, GMLRS projectiles, and ballistic missiles. My personal favourite is an S400 battery, covered by Pantsir & Tor M1, getting dusted by SCALP / Storm Shadow missiles. The obvious reality is that the russkies always lie to prop up their arms export industry, whereas the west undervalues the performance of their systems publically. I'm working on an analysis on GBAD performance in Ukr and it looks confusingly bad for the russians so far. S400 is still dangerous to 4th gen fighters, but vs ALCMs it has been just bad, and even worse for ballistic missiles. Tor & Pantsir seem to struggle with everything. Is this shit hardware or shit crews? Who knows. On the other side, the Gepard, Patriot, IRIS-T, NASAMS and weirdly APKWS in anti-air mode have all exceeded expectations. Russian stuff is shit, operated by idiots.
Patriot, Nasams and irist exceeded expectations ? How if they can’t intercept a simple Islander missile flying towards them. For example there is video a few weeks ago of an patriot launcher firing 2 missiles at it and then gets hit by iskander.
@@Alex705AS I don't think I even need to say anything here - this piece of vodka-induced lunacy speaks for itself nicely. I thought the guy that shot it was the guy I killed, hence I figured the missile would lose track. It was actually the guy behind him that shot it at me...
@@teddypicker8799 I wonder what the RCS is like in both. For both better accuracy and longer range, not a bad million spent if survivability at least as good.
a few notes cap. one, there is also a C variant to the AGM-158. you know it as LRASM. the pansir is underperforming because it is russian. and for the love of HAL, stop trying to ram your F-16 AI buddy. oh, and I'm not sure if they got them yet or not, but Sweden has pledged to give Ukraine two AWACS. ASC-890s, to be specific.
And ehh you’re forgetting the few extra km of the Kursk region they’ve taken would allow for launches. That much further into Russia…also, umm, a ballistic claim at max burner, would greatly increase their range, along with the extra territory they’ve taken of Russia. Plus seems how for the past while they have hunting S-300 and S-400’s in preparation of getting F-16’s. Which we all know will tear Russia a new asshole, in a hurry and not nicely, yes if they went all out with them, once they get higher numbers, they will take losses. But they will inflict casualty ratios the Russians could never recover from. Once Ukraine gets all the F-16’s promised, they could punch out over 90% of the Russian airforce, in the air, or by killing them on the ground still. Especially when they adapt Neptune to be carried and launched by F-16’s you all know that they will, I’m surprised it’s not announced yet, after successful strikes via that. As Russia has very little that could actually counter and kill F-16’s before they kill whatever is targeting them. And multiple other high value targets, including fighters, while they kill air defense. Sore F-16’s are old, but among the very best fighters/multirole ever made and actually mass produced.
@@Wyomingchief no, our stuff is good, but theirs is garbage, made to threaten, not actually perform, we make our shit to match and beat the pipe dreams they say they can do, and sure they got like a handful of units maintained enough to actually do what they say. So they can show off 1-5 of a thing…but their entire fleet can’t do that, of anything you name. They aren’t well enough maintained and trained to do so, where as the west is, you take any F-15 that is operational for combat missions, and it can do anything stated on the tin, Russian and China can’t, they try, but they don’t have the society, or economy to do so. They are built in lies and fear, that’s the difference. Go look up the history of the F-15 of you doubt me, we made it to counter their super plane, that never existed, as they said, cause it flat out sucked and is nothing but a failure and death trap. And we made the world’s best. Fighter jet because of that. They literally push us to make the most absurd and crazy shit. To match their claims, just incase their claims are actually right, once.
@@Wyomingchief also most of Russias shit can’t even fly, or is only partially mission capable, why I say Ukraine once they get all 86 or whatever F-16’s with Aim 120 D or C, and aim 9x can destroy most of the Russian airforce, is cause most of them can’t fly or don’t have full mission capabilities, if they aren’t killed on the ground, so they only have to kill 90% of a tiny amount that are fully mission capable, or partially as in they can take off and deliver some kind of weapon. Its not just that our shit is good/better, and works, it’s that there’s doesn’t work. Plus Ukraine keeps blowing up their refineries and fuel storage, logistics hubs, Russia is terrible at logistics anyways, wanna know what needs the most logistics? Aircraft. So their ability to even take off and land is only going to keep going down. Let alone try to fight.
O.K. I don't have just one minor issue but two, so I do comment. Cap, could you add a "north" pointer to the maps when you rotate the geography to fit onto a map that's available in DCS? The other issue: Ukraine is not going to get Germany's Taurus missiles. That discussion has become such a political hot potato in Germany that now everybody is keeping silent about it in order to not break up our government over that. (Don't ask my why we don't give Taurus to Ukraine, I never understood the arguments against that. And apparently so did many others, which is why it became such a hot potato.)
Shouldn't you be hitting those SAM Radars before the F16 fly up to altitude to destroy the so-called enemy base? Someone needs to be good at maths, to workout distance, speed and range
You guys are a bit behind in the Ukraine news. Just saying. Why doesn’t Russia get the Tunguska and shilkas out for anti drone to protect the oil farms?

New subscriber here: I was just searching the capabilities of the jassm missle. Did not expect to be taking out on a mission in a F-16 (who does that lol) 😂 … I paused and started watching from the quest 3. AWSOME video ❤
As an American, I'm blown away by the fact that Moscow and Kiev are only 450 miles apart. That's Orlando to Atlanta!
Nearly all European nations has their capital close to the edge of their country, or close to the sea, just like the USA. Close is a relative distance but Moscowy is also close to the western boarder with 9000km(?) more to the east.
Europe is all close together. They're confused by the large distances in north america.
@@AWJFunk you mean they (americans) are instead confused by the small distances and the metric system. Fixed that for you..
Sydney to Melbourne.

Why are American armored vehicles and tanks being destroyed by the Russians in Ukraine? Because it's American.
The difference between the JASSM's is basically the engine. The A has thirsty but cheap & reliable turbojet, while the B has a frugal but expensive turbofan.
Thanks!
Ukraine has no awacs but every friendly country has their AWACS on the border relaying data, combined with all the ground systems.
Didn't they recieve one?
They have yet to receive 2 of the swedish AWACS
No law against sending data packets.
@@andrewpearce8006 they're probably training people on them rn.

Ukraine sure as hell is getting tons of AWACS intel from the US 24/7
Funny thing, on one of the F16s tail it said "I need ammo, not a ride!".
If cause, if its fail, you can just fire a other shell (They probobly fire a burst of a few shells at a time)
Thanks for sharing this man, it's awesome!
Appreciated reading this, thank you for sharing it is really fascinating
Gepard can't use modern smart ammo. It uses APDS style rounds, presumably for their ballistic properties. So they just directly hit the drone.
IF they are allowed to. The restrictions on how they use weapons have been ridiculous 🤬
lol no they wont
You can only dream of that, lol)
I heard from Ukrainian air defense experts that the main advantage of the Gepard is its ammunition.
In short: it explodes when it is needed and makes the required amount of fragments. These characteristics give a high percentage of hits. Russian air defense cannon ammunition is far worse than the Western equivalent.
P.S. Thank you for the video about Ukraine. It is always a joy for me.
The gepard has smart fusing munitions, right? From my understanding, the Russian shorad gun systems use conventional fusing.
Based on the S400 performance vs SCALP/Storm Shadow, S400 targeting a JASSM 15 miles is insanely generous.
They can't 😂

Oracle reported yesterday that an American JASSM was used on Russian positions in occupied Horlivka.
Interesting.
Great fun. Thanks Cap, nice one Boys.
thanks for the scenario!!!
What the Ukrainians have done with drones is terrifying and game changing.
I think the difference between the Gepard and the Pantsir is the difference between German engineers and Russian engineers. The Germans expend a lot of effort sweating the details to make things work, while the Russians are more geared towards making things now!
While consuming excessive amounts of copium and wodka 🤪
Concerning yesterday's demo: does China have anything comparable to the Tu-95D for sea search? GrimReapers crew: thank you as always!
As a guess, the closest the Chinese have to the TU-95 is the Xian H-6B (TU-16). It's a twin-jet engine bomber, the B model is designed for recon.
China is almost entirely reliant on H-6 bomber variants for long range strikes. They are planning on putting a stealth bomber into service similar to B-21 in design but it is unclear when this will happen as it is still in development.
H-6 is pretty much all they have?
@@grimreapers

Realistically the Harriers and Hornets would probably stay home as they are being phased out. F-35C are reserved for large carrier duty. That leaves just the modest amount of F-35B available for a forward deployment.
Love the vids, but what did you do to the Minsk?
2:35 that's not what "danger close" means. It means you're shooting something that's close to friendly forces. It has nothing to do with the danger or proximity to the shooter.
I'd love to see an op regarding this scenario: Can F-86 Sabres and Korea era F4U corsairs stop the attack on Pearl Harbor.
18:39 MIG-31 my beloved 😍😍😍
Cap! A request: we would like to see a new take on the Kerch bridge 2024. S-500 defended, heavily defended, we would like to see a comprehensive strategy involving ATACMS, Scalp AND Taurus (maybe aviation support?)
This would be really nice to see, if you would come up with something fun! Thank you team, you're great! 🤘🏻
Sorry, wait, Cap had a visit from NCIS? I missed this gossip 😁
A letter forcing him to tell then what the sources are for the information he uses to put these video's together.
Pretty much all public information from wikipedia and such.
now Cap lists the sources of all information he uses.
And it wasn't Leeroy Jethro Gibbs that sent the letter😂
Wow they'd have had to get embassy staff involved in that. Someone's going to be pulled into secondary on every plane trip now.
oh snap Super Cap got a visit from folks higher than the FBI?
@@eodisfunwell technically the FBI is higher, but in this case it was ncis. Though I'm sure the FBI was involved
@@RoyChartieryeah I think somebody pointed that out to him and Discord😂
I would say german engineering, but isn't the Gepard 70's stuff?
Cold war German stuff is more capable and reliable than new Russian stuff.
Well considering they're constantly updating their radars, and Russia has proven to be 20 to 30 years behind in technology, it would still make the gebhard better
Gepard was modernized in 80s amd 90s.
A cheap mini SAM designed to attack drones seems very sensible. Martlet is roughly this but even smaller and cheaper would be better for anti drone.
30:45 sometimes you just gotta go hard, Cap.
I think it's hilarious to imagine Cap, after being shot down and floating along in his parachute, still guiding the crew from his headset and a big ipad. 😂
Yaaaay more boom boom to watch! >:D
Do this mission with Tornados in Ukrainian livery. That would be cool.
Tornados are my all time favorite plane. 😅
Not as much fun as being inverted in a Jaguar 😊
Once those F-16 MLU have been updated they can fire the 575 mile ranged JAASM-ER (B) thus making Moscow easily within range.
They do have Awaks, got Saab global eye from Sweden. Dunno if they got a crew trained and up in the air and such yet, but they should be shortly
Cap,
I’d love to see some us vs red dragon…
Could RD faint a “military exercise “ to ‘surprise attack’ Okinawa?… Okinawa knows the exercise will take place, but it’s a us forces “at the ready” stance.. they’re not actually prepared for a ‘full-on-surprise attack’…
Day One: Surprise!
Day Two: remnants vs remnants
Day Three: *could be a week later* reinforcements vs reinforcements
Day Four-1: extrapolate results of day 1-2-3….
These could be played out two ways… strictly and only US forces vs the East… and they could be played out with Ally forces that could be able to support US forces (South Korea, Japan, Australia, Philippines) etc…
I’d expect US parody, give or take, given a one on one conflict…, but given international/ regional support, I don’t think the East has a prayer of a positive outcome!!!
They've done something very similar in the past, if you look at their Naval simulations playlist you should find what you're looking for
Yup got something coming.
It's something meant for the Pacific fight and there's probably some tech that they don't want the Russians getting their hands on
🤷♂️??
🤷♂️??
Hello there @Grim Reapers. Cap, I was wondering if a TARPS Tutorial was ever done yet? If not are you willing to show us how to use it?
@34:40 - well said ( printed )
Equipment including aircraft are better in DCS than in actual real world conflicts is because the USA understates its capabilities while Russia overstates its capabilities. For example the maximum speed of the SR71 is still classified but we all call it Mach 3.4
hey! do you want to give us an update on the ncis affair?
They were just trying to find out where he was getting his information. They didn't say why but you can assume he was getting close to fairly accurate scenarios. Because of that he gave them access to his accounts to show that he was getting this off wikipedia.. it's also why you'll see links much more in the descriptions now. But nothing came of it other than that
JASSM is like Storm Shadow, just a little smaller.
Strictly speaking the Uranians may soon have 2 Swedish turboprop Erieyes for AWACS control which they donated not long ago....
Valued anti-collision lights!

Cool
DCS F16’s are now equipped with the AGM158 JASSM? Since when? Any Tutorials? Thanks.
I gave the 600th like and made the 83rd comment. What is the significance of this? There isn't any. It just gives me something to comment about to help out the channel.
Fair enough
It will be interesting to see the Australian Slinger in operation in Ukraine. Particularly since it was designed by a company that tracks space junk.
I think they need 4 devices for attack. awacs . Radar jamming. AGM158. AGM-88E
Can you not program the Patriot to attempt intercepting A2A missiles like the RM 37? From what is published, there is no technical reason why the Patriot could not intercept.
Only if somebody that does mods like dark is capable
There seems to be a weakness in the game/sim, we just can't get them to target A-A missiles at all.
accurate what air defense doing
Is all going according to plan comrade general...... hic 🥃🥃🥃🥃
The R-37 is deployed already?!
Theres usually shorad protecting buks and manpads all over the place, it wouldnt be that easy
Fair comment.
Hello valued Cap!
JASSM or AGM158 is stealth missile did you add stealth mod too
i imagine a combination of ammunition and radar is why the gepard fairs better
These weapons are not scheduled for delivery for months and when/if they do arrive the US will not allow them to be used in Russia. So just pointless and expensive door stops really.
The Russians do have damn good jamming systems. Sometimes even so good they jam their own signals.
But you know what they say about plans "they never survive first contact with the enemy"
Love what you all do, and I appreciate the effort and hard work it must take to set up these missions. Cap you are a legend among legends as is the rest of the GR team.
As a german I say: The government should stop bitching around and give Ukraine the Taurus missiles...

How is that map ok?
Why is the Navy fucking with Cap? Maybe seeing a modern carrier group get murdered by a Japanese Pear Harbor attacking force made them angry.
You got to remember several members of the gr group are either current or ex-military so they're just wanting to make sure nobody's talking that shouldn't be
Word of advice when juking missles going upwards also makes the missles not just fight air resistant but gravity too.
The goal is to get the missile to a higher altitude with thinner air and to give it more gravitational potential energy.
Yeah well 90% of the time you go up to blow up. You want to stick low to the ground because there's way more air resistance.
What is the limitation of DCS that means you can’t fly the missions?
Some of the mods that they use, specifically the one with the cruise missile they were using, is not compatible with a human flown aircraft. Which is common with a lot of the mods they use. It's just a limitation of DCs at its current state
LOTS of limitations, I have to lots of messing around just to get the vids that I show working.
@@grimreapersthank you your work is amazing
stated SU34 Patriot engagement v=nD_en_xvSvU 30:22

Isnt Ukraine maybe getting a SAAB Avacs from Sweden?

Conscript 2: Oh look at that one ; it has a little hat!
Conscript 3: Umm, Guys? There's a swarm of hummingbirds on the scope coming in at mach 0.95 and I think--
Conscript 1: Shut up! Can't you see we're doing important conscript shit?
You'd need the F-16C to launch those. Ukraine is not getting those.
Isn't that funny how when you don't defend an incoming missile warning, you die?
I thought the guy that shot it was the guy I killed, hence I figured the missile would lose track. It was actually the guy behind him that shot it at me...
I thought JASSM was less advanced than Stormshadow?
Yep public info says Stormshadow has 130km more range and better accuracy. It's $1m more per missile though
@@teddypicker8799not really much is known about JASSM although a boost more capabilities than the Storm Shadow cruise missile

Ukraine can use awacs and AGM-88E
a few notes cap. one, there is also a C variant to the AGM-158. you know it as LRASM. the pansir is underperforming because it is russian. and for the love of HAL, stop trying to ram your F-16 AI buddy.
oh, and I'm not sure if they got them yet or not, but Sweden has pledged to give Ukraine two AWACS.
Easy there John wayne, we know America has better technology in the West in general but simmer down you're getting a little too excited😂😂

Good idea!
Shouldn't you be hitting those SAM Radars before the F16 fly up to altitude to destroy the so-called enemy base? Someone needs to be good at maths, to workout distance, speed and range
