The Moment that Brought Me Back to God: from Lukewarm to Steadfast

In this video I share the moment that completely humbled me before God and started my journey to becoming a steadfast Christian (a Christian that is fully committed to God and continually seeks Him daily, not just on occasion).
Prior to this moment I was a busy girl who never seemed to have time for God, but this moment made me realize that God should ALWAYS be my #1 priority in my life regardless of how “busy” I may be. That Jesus is all that I EVER need!! Nothing and no one other than God should take #1 place in our hearts, but sometimes it takes a horrific moment like the one I talk about in this video to make us realize that. That only in God can we truly have everything we need and find purpose, hope, fulfillment, eternal life, peace, joy and everything else that Jesus offers to us - apart from Jesus we can not do anything (the Bible even makes that clear in John 15:4-7). This moment made that SUPER DUPER clear for me.
I pray and hope that me sharing my testimony (although it is a very vulnerable one), can encourage you to always put God first and not let ANYTHING get in the way of your relationship with God. I truly am grateful for what happened, despite it being very difficult, God glorified Himself in my life through this moment and brought me back to Him- which is where I always belonged.
Practical Steps to Come Back to God 👇:
🌟 Repent (ask God for forgiveness for your sins, for turning away from Him. And turn away from your sins and towards God in prayer)
🌟 Find a church community if you aren’t apart of one already and commit to going to it consistently to seek God in community and be encouraged by your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. We need the constant encouragement to stay in the faith (Hebrews Chapter 10: 25).
🌟 Cultivate your personal relationship with God (which is the MOST important) by making time to pray everyday, and read the Word of God (the Bible), so that you can talk to God and have God talk to you through His word. This is not done out of obligation or to fulfill any type of religious quota but to genuinely talk to God and seek the Lord because we want to get to know Him more. It is not enough just to read the Bible, but to actually obey and apply the Word of God and we can’t obey God through our own strength, so ask the Holy Spirit in prayer to give you the strength to do the will of God.
🌟 Carry our cross daily (Matthew 16: 24-26)- following God won’t be easy, we have to carry our cross and follow Him daily. Which means dying to our own will, our own desires, and choosing to obey God’s word and will for our lives instead. Sometimes that means leaving people, things, habits behind that lead us away from God, and keeping our faith in midst of trials and tribulations. But God is always there with us and helping us as we do it. You’re not alone, you have the Holy Spirit in you to fortify you to do the will of God. It also means loving others and treating them the way we would like to be treated; sacrificial love for others and for God.

24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?

I hope me sharing this testimony can encourage you and motivate you to come back to God no matter where you are in your relationship with Him. Whether He’s someone you go to only when you need something or someone you’ve never had an experience with. Sometimes it takes a bad moment like this one to humble us enough to get right with God; but it doesn’t have to be that way. He is always waiting for us to have a relationship with Him; let’s seek the Lord while He can still be found. What He has to offer is so so much greater than what this world offers!! 🙌🏻❤️
