@@alexandersloan826 The opposite is true. Veterans actually have a much lower rate of becoming criminals than most other groups. The highest risk factor is being a high school dropout.
It's sad that he can't see the reality of his situation. The judge was very kind to him in giving him time to detox. It's not harming him, but for his good.
Seems like they are trying to support their veterans, which is great. But this guy is a meth head, his choice, and is driving w/no DL, no registration, no insurance. So, how many chances can you give him? I love vets but I love citizen safety more.
isn't it amazing that every scumbag in court has a new job and always mention their children, his children must be very proud , should have got 12 months minimum
not a person who have used meth or know anyone that i'm aware of that imbibes, is 9grams a lot of it? i know a bit about cocaine and you don't want to be caught with that amount but it's not all that much altho probably enough for a distribution charge? meth sounds like very bad news to me, i wonder why people take it up.
No this was purely a sentencing hearing. Notice that the defense attorney only asked that the judge address punishment. Why do you think there were new charges being brought up?
@Mxxx-ii9bu The problem here is that he is contesting the amount and the type of drug. The prosecutor not being present is also a real concern. All of these things are appealable and is leading to a miscarriage of justice. Middleton is absolutely doing the wrong thing and he should know better as should defence counsel.
He's not happy because he has to wait another two weeks for his fix
If he is a veteran, he should know for certain that he should NOT interrupt or back talk the person in authority.
Liquor and/or any drug will over ride what ever we have been taught or learned.
Lol yeah right man, being a veteran is objectively a risk factor for criminality.

I am a veteran but I don't think veterans should have special treatment, they should be treated the same as teachers, bankers, waiters etc.
Thank you! I am also sick of, "Thank you for your service." What, did I change your oil?

Agreed. At some point, being a veteran doesn’t give you carte blanche
He will thank the judge one day😎😎😎
What kind of wooden container on earth weighs 9 grams?
The time he was in jail isn't time enough to get over the craving for meth and Judge Middleton knows that.

That judge is so even keeled!
Agreed! I enjoy watching him handle tough situations
Right. He never gets rattled like so many other judges 😊
"The syringe wasn't mine... but the meth in it was"? How does that defence fly exactly?
😂😂😂😂😂It doesn't. That's why he's in jail
With correct spelling lol
What on earth makes you think that it's not available in jail?
When I grow up I want to be Judge Middleton.
When I F up I want to be on Judge Middleton's docket. Generally, he's a pushover.

Err the prosecution should be there and they need to prove the drugs were illegal and the amount. What on earth is middleton thinking?
I think this is the sentencing, not the trial.
@martinhaight6833 this sounds like new charges and the def pled guilty, defence then wanted a quick sentence.

This is a plea deal. Not appealable.
You don’t trade alcohol for shooting meth…. He’s been a drug user all along
I remember the good ol days when 9 grams of meth was worth something now it's about 60- 90 bucks
The good ol' days if you were selling, not if you were buying!
