Seth had a 1 in 6 chance of ending Carlyle in one round. Carlyle had a 1 in 4627 chance of ending Seth in one round. So, of course, the outcome was entirely predictable.
With the way they talked about the low odds of it happening, it's almost like they could see into the future and were setting up that ending. That's the kind of ironic foreshadowing you expect from something scripted. If you told me they had pre-recorded this and then recorded the commentary after they already knew how it ended, I would believe you. I haven't laughed that hard in years.
Swordmaster on a throne with boosted stats i can not see what could go wrong. Hilarious ending all hail the random number generator for its infinite shenanigans.
Remembering that Carlyle has almost the same hit rate as Seth and yet he seems to be hitting most of his hits, and somehow gets BOTH of his 3% crits. Ridiculous to think about.
I know Marisa isn't typically considered a good unit, but this one is especially bad. Edit: fun fact, her name, the Crimson Flash, would have been applicable in the original Japanese version as an Assassin, where the Lethality animation is a red flash. In the localization the animation was changed to purple. Okay, that ending was hilarious.
From 2 range it is considered anima magic so you will lose 1 might an 15 hit. He will do way less damage with no crit but surely you aren't going to hit him.
The only time I ever used Marisa was my very first playthrough of this game back in the day because I thought she looked so cool. I think she had like 14 deaths.
32:35 The berserk is obtainable, but requires breaking the priest's mend. There's a conveniently located armor knight to the left that can be used as a mend target; approach from the left with two high move units, and chip + rescue out repeatedly.
The unluck with Carlyle was insane. It’s one thing that he got the ORKO. But it wouldn’t have even been a problem if Seth hadn’t missed so much previously.
When I did this map, I had A Support Forde and Vanessa. I think I took him out with Joshua on a 43% hit chance with 31% crit ( so what 15% Silencer?). 1/1 Quite lucky. Just the opposite of what I observed. *hugs Mekkah* Murphy's Law in action, bro.
Funny thing about slots in the Pokémon games, is that they were programmed to provide positive EV to the player. So in addition to encouraging gambling to children, they give a very unrealistic representation of the actual odds involved, haha
I haven't seen someone so tilted in an fe game since I lost my Dorothea (after deciding to marry her) on CF due to a 7% crit after she missed an 89% killshot on Rhea.
I think I messed up my boss stats when I prepped the rom for this, cause my Carlyle was a nearly capped Swordmaster. He had 27 speed I think? I've been running into bosses with some capped stats since then. It's been fun so far tho.
You'd have to break the mend staff to get berserk, its super annoying, but getitng it from the troubador is a little less mind numbing because you might actually spend 20 turns in the sand. Not at all worth it. Except for the fact that Riev actually has a decent shot of killing Morva outright if you can land it
I have a feeling even breaking Mend would not get you Berserk. If you have an enemy thief steal one of your items, it turns green for droppable. But then if you steal it back, their next item does not become droppable.
By now Mekka feels like he has to protect Seth from the haters, don't worry no one will take him away from you, we know you can speedrun solo the base game with him if you want
One curiosity about Amelia. In the Spanish version for whatever reason(mistranslation) Amelia uses male pronouns to talk about herself during her promotion event. And yeah Seth is very meh in tower because his HP is a bit low compared with your other units and in 20/20 everything else is similar or superior. And if we talk about the ruins it is worse because you really want someone that survive because or it is a lot of level 20 promoted monsters going to your units or that + shadowshot monsters.
In the ruins, you can max movement on everyone easily before really starting and units like Generals, Warriors and Berserkers have better stats, plus Axes are cheaper than Lances which helps if one of your goals is maxing out units. Seth has really nothing unique about him at that point, although his stats hold up well compared to most other people before boosters anyway just due to his amazing growths.
@@horsejohnson7499 Raisins talked about no boots abuse. I only pointed out his problems. Also Gwmenerals are a bit meh because they have problems doubling and I don't know why you didn't mention bishops
@@horsejohnson7499 seth is one of the best units in the series in the context of a vanilla playthrough where enemies usually have garbage stats for the entire game, but he is not designed to fight units with stats comparable to fe6 hard mode.

Fire Emblem, everybody 🙄. That would honestly be enough to make me put the game down for the rest of the week. That triggered me just watching it. I'm sorry guys... But on a more pleasant note: ASSASSIN MARISA LETSGO. Definitely the right choice for this run IMO. And who knows? Maybe the second chance will give Ewan better levels. Silver lining? Also, speaking of levels: are we going to start feeding some kills to Eirika so she can at least be Level 18 before she promotes? It really feels like she's been sitting on the sidelines for her entire route when she was kinda carrying the earlygame in terms of level ups. If she stays Level 15, I feel like that growth is kinda going to waste, no?
I am you but they fight me 5 chapters before (8 if we count the Gaidens) and with a better magic sword (supereffective against fliers, not fixed damage at range and weak to a less common and accurate magic).
Yes, but it would count like it is anima magic so you don't have WTA and lances lose the 15% hit. So unless you attack with dark magic you don't obtain WTA, and that is only Ewan.

I really hope someone makes a "crimson flash" counter by the end of this playthrough.
Carlyle unleashing his inner Gel and summoning all of the power of fe6 swordmasters to kill Seth.
And he did it quietly well if may say.
Frankly I've always thought Carlyle was Gel-tier of bullshit so I'm not at all surprised that Lunatic growths made him even worse.
