Professor Dave is getting better and better at not only providing informative content, but presenting it in an entertaining and engaging way. Kudos to you, sir! You and your team are doing a great job!
i have a skin infection that has damaged my blood vessels and great saphenous vein. and my doctor was just explaining his decision to put me on augmentin instead of bactrim like an hour ago! how crazy this is your video today!
This is excellent, I watched everything on the playlist and I really look forward to the penicillin episode! There is so much delicately thought of information woven between the facts and it must be difficult to sieve through what needs to be delivered in each episode. The historical pictures and the economic scale of the drugs involved really puts perspective to the industry, putting the dye industry in account to the RnD arsenal that will develop pharmaceuticals was brilliant. This series is ultimately valuable for every kind of person and especially those about to enter the field. Thank you for this!
I feel so bad for leaving something out in my last comment. I thought I thanked you on there. I did not. Thank you for all of your amazing help. I appreciate it and I know all of us watching appreciate you, not just your content. It sucks that while studying, you sometimes zone out. You forget friends and family some times. I know I do, this is something I have to work on. Thank you again for all of your help. A million thanks to you, my good sir.
Same. I've had to have tonsil abscesses drained 2x by slicing them open while awake and fully aware trying to hold my head still due to this issue, 😰😩 and then go on steroids.
On the topic of antibiotics industry of Germany, a very interesting thing look into is the history of industrialization of Germany itself, these monopolies were formed from ground up to allow some level of competion with international market, while US and UK formed monopolies and oligopolies at later stages of It's respective industrialization. Really interesting stuff if you're into Economical Development Theory and technological and technical development.
Dude, I'm studying for my organic chemistry exam but I HAD to stop looking at it for a while. I saw you answered my comment on a previous video and I had no idea you were so involved with your music! (And games to a lesser degree.) I think you should broadcast this more. I understand how academic tutorials should not be littered with self promotions, but this is YOUR channel and you are doing US the favor of explaining this super complicated stuff to us. I know many more of us would support you if you asked. I'm sure you've thought of some of this though. I just wanted to voice my thoughts. Regardless, I am going to support you on patreon as soon as I am financially able. Gas is $4 a gallon where I am and my grocery bill has gone up almost 30%. We do not make that much money here in Alabama. Keep up the great work. You are doing a great job.
I understand gram-staining, but I hadn't heard about the dye company, it makes sense that they would influence the earliest experiments in microbiology.
My son recently had osteomyelitis, it affected his left hip, I did a bit of research and if he'd born born before 1940 and the discovery of penicillin he'd either be dead or they'd have done some messed up operation that would either have killed him or left him disabled in some way.

I agree!
Professor Dave’s picture should be on every science textbook
Just binged the whole series!

I just want to say that your videos have helped me tremendously in my quest to learn everything science. Have an awesome day.

It’s more entertaining the closer to upload you watch
I had no idea that sulfa drugs existed before penicillin. Interesting
Thanks! This is gold.
Congrats on 1.9M subs Dave! Road to 2 million
I really enjoy your general science lectures, as well as your responses to flerfers and quantum woo types.
I really love your content, but one of my favorite parts are your intro/outro music. Just fantastic!
As always an excellent video
Facinating, I remember reading stories where they mention "The new Sulphur Drugs", Now i see why, Thank you.

Thank you 🙏 for sharing your knowledge
Very interesting video! I'm unfortunate enough to be allergic to many common antibiotics including sulfa and all 'cillins

@@dergunter1237 Damn that sucks. Are your groceries getting expensive too?
@@arturo7926 on average price increase last month was 550% we are going into basically a financial and infrastructural collapse

Teniendo en cuenta que la terna fue previamente aceptada por la corte. Cual es el fundamento del voto en blanco?
Dr. Stone moment
Senku would be proud.
i think dr stone taught him this
hooray, new drug video!!!

It seems like there's a lot of allergic reactions to sulfa. Any historical background and/or reasons?
Came here after watching you completely ANNIHILATE the flat earther and I am completely hooked on your videos sir.
As a german I'm glad to hear we're still the bad guys.
Well done with all the German pronunciations!

Totally unrelated to the subject at hand. Just here to say, that I loved your take down of DIRTH! that was awesome!!!
We Kick Butt Everyday, Yeah
Kudos to your relentless attempts to pronounce the German "ch".
Haha it's so hard, I hope it's at least halfway decent, I'm really trying.
How many Dr. Stone fans here?????? I saw sulfa drugs and had to click
I really must commend you on your pronunciation of German. Many non speakers make me cringe a little, but not Professor Dave.
That's good news because I was worried it was terrible!
5:49 damn, dude just decided to start experimenting on his daughter. I'd like to think he exhausted a few other options before that point.
Sulfa drugs could have saved the life of Heydrich if it weren't for his sceptical physician.

Still waiting for the debate with flat earthers! can't wait much longer!!
I did one this morning.
