Watching this from Germany, I am frightened that the land of the free, which once liberated us from dictatorship, hate, and war, could become what it once freed us from.
I was at the taping of this show on Saturday. John Oliver is just as amazing in person as he is on tv. We had so much fun! He basically did this all in one take. A real professional!
As a gay man who was politically active in the early 80s I know that politics is voting for the person that can at least be moved in the direction you hope to see one day. That pragmatic approach meant that I often voted for people who just barely tolerated me. That slow, stead pressure worked but it took decades to go from someone who could be charged with a felony for having sex in some states, to someone who is married today. No politician gives you everything you want. Voting is not a zero sum game. Everytime that someone casts a protest vote ALL that happens is the side closest to them loses.
When John and crew are kicking on all-cylinders, which is almost always the case, they are at the top. Nobody better. Thank you all for your passion. 💪🏾
Passion is a double-edged sword. I also thank people like John and Ruwa Romman whose passion drives them to seek the greater good in an imperfect world. But the people who have an all-or-nothing attitude about politics (regardless of the issue at hand) really have no right to complain when they get nothing. Life is about compromise. While I understand being driven by passion, getting some of what you want is always better than getting none, and it's certainly better than making things worse than they already are. Unfortunately, passion drives some people to place ideology above practicality. I really hope John got through to the people whose passion is so strong that it's self-defeating.
Liberals were happy to see the SCOTUS decide every single major issues for years and years, when the supreme court was biased towards liberals. And now that's it not suddenly you guys realize what a bad idea it is to have the supreme court decide everything. Whoops!
Hopeless, people do not even realize that the SCOTUS has had a GOP appointed majority, continuously, since the late 60s. All that supposed "activism from the bench" like Roe v Wade? GOP majorities. They did not have to replace far left justices to push through the repeal, they had to replace conservative justices with far right nutcases.
Thank you, John. When your voice cracked at "I'm an immigrant, I chose to be here," you perfectly contextualized everything I've felt for the last 25 years.
I heard it too. It killed me inside, every member of my family literally from one generation back are all immigrants. And they struggled and fought just to survive and be here

Trump's been around for 8 years now, and his supporters aren't going anywhere! The threat of fascism is here to stay, does that mean that corporate democrats (and "centrists" around the world) should get a free pass on every election, and remain unaccountable for the rest of our short lives? There's no good answer to that question...
They need a "daddy", as Tucker Carlson has put it. Somebody who takes away the burden of being a responsible, introspective adult. They give up all their agency in exchange for the chance to externalize all their worries and project them onto a common enemy.

The post about the McDonald's ice cream machines makes more sense when you realise that McDonald's has recently gained the right to repair their own machines without having to get a mechanic from their supplier. This means it will be easier to make repairs and do maintenance, resulting in more reliable machines once their staff is properly trained to do so. This happened a couple of months ago under Biden's presidency, but Trump is pre-emptively claiming credit.
I was thinking that he didn't mention this case and how important a "right to repair" rule really is for small businesses. Being locked into maintenance agreements can be expensive. Biden's administration has really gotten no credit for anything has it...

My Dad died from COVID when Donald Trump weaponized his pandemic 'response' by sending 170 broken ventilators to California, March 29, 2020, the frontline of the outbreak where he lost the vote. Now we find out May 21, 2020 Trump sent 200 working ventilators as well as COVID test kits to Putin. This is who he is. This act alone should disqualify the TRAITOR WITHIN causing the death of thousands of Americans. Miss you Dad! NEVER AGAIN.

Friend, I'm Egyptian and I'm a nervous wreck on behalf of my fellow American brethren. I cannot fathom a world where Trump wins again. Worse still, I cannot fathom the amount of damage, moral decay, and absolute vengeance he will wreak on your people and future generations. In one singular presidential period he managed to completely poison your politics probably for the next 100 years. He destroyed your Supreme Court and filled it with corrupt and biased shills. He robbed all American women of their right to abortion. And he split the country so divisively that half of the country is convinced that the other half is trying to kill them and are therefore debating whether they should kill them first. He did all of this naturally, comfortably and instinctively. And he didn't even have a plan the first time. But he's been building grudges, anger and a desire for vengeance and nursing it for the past 4 years. If he gets in again, he will ensure that there's nothing to salvage after he's gone. He's going to hand the entire country to extremist Christians, to white nationalists, to Nazis, to Putin, and North Korea. Honestly, I'm scared for all of you, and I pray that you can triumph through voting and declare as a single nation that you will not stand for a criminal, felon, rapist, authoritarian, violent psychopath as your elected leader.
He may not be a natural born citizen but he clearly pushed for the hard earned privilege to be an American citizen because he has some love for this great country. In a way he had to prove his love and fealty in ways many of us have not. I imagine his emotion and passion is valid and true, a real patriot through and through.
That's interesting because it feels like voting for Harris isn't actually facing up to the real problems in the world. I'm never saying vote for Trump but I'm not convinced people are willing to face her issues and push her and I'm not convinced Harris has a conscience or is capable of being pushed. Except by large sums of money obviously it goes without saying that she can be bought
@@fr33usa73 #PutinsPuppet "It is a truism that many who join a rising revolutionary movement are attracted by the prospect of sudden and spectacular change in their conditions of life. With a fading of the individual’s creative powers there appears a pronounced inclination toward joining a mass movement. Here the connection between the escape from an ineffectual self and a responsiveness to mass movements is very clear. The slipping author, artist, scientist - slipping because of a drying-up of the creative flow within - drifts sooner or later into the camps of ardent patriots, race mongers, uplift promoters and champions of holy causes. The desire to escape or camouflage their unsatisfactory selves develops in the frustrated a facility for pretending-for making a show-and also a readiness to identify themselves wholly with an imposing mass spectacle. All active mass movements strive, therefore, to interpose a fact-proof screen between the faithful and the realities of the world. A peculiar side of credulity is that it is often joined with a proneness to imposture. The association of believing and lying is not characteristic solely of children. They inability or unwillingness to see things as they are promotes both gullibility and charlatanism. Failure in the management of practical affairs seems to be a qualification for success in the management of public affairs. The revulsion from an unwanted self, and the impulse to forget it, mask it, slough it off and lose it, produce both a readiness to sacrifice the self and a willingness to dissolve it by losing one's individual distinctness in a compact collective whole. Propaganda ... serves more to justify ourselves than to convince others; and the more reason we have to feel guilty, the more fervent our propaganda. When the weak want to give an impression of strength they hint menacingly at their capacity for evil. It is by its promise of a sense of power that evil often attracts the weak. The weakness of a soul is proportionate to the number of truths that must be kept from it. It is a talent of the weak to persuade themselves that they suffer for something when they suffer from something; that they are showing the way when they are running away; that they see the light when they feel the heat; that they are chosen when they are shunned. Totalitarianism spells simplification: an enormous reduction in the variety of aims, motives, interests, human types, and, above all, in the categories and units of power. Unless a man has the talents to make something of himself, freedom is an irksome burden. Of what avail is freedom to choose if the self be ineffectual? We join a mass movement to escape individual responsibility, or, in the words of the ardent young Nazi, ‘to be free from freedom.’ It was not sheer hypocrisy when the rank-and-file Nazis declared themselves not guilty of all the enormities they had committed. They considered themselves cheated and maligned when made to shoulder responsibility for obeying orders. Had they not joined the Nazi movement in order to be free from responsibility Passionate hatreds can give meaning and purpose to an empty life. These people haunted by the purposelessness of their lives try to find a new content not only by dedicating themselves to a holy cause but also by nursing a fanatical grievance. Whence come these unreasonable hatreds, and why their unifying effect? They are an expression of a desperate effort to suppress an awareness of our inadequacy, worthlessness, guilt and other shortcomings of the self. Nationalist pride, like other variants of pride, can be a substitute for self-respect. Collective unity is not the result of the brotherly love of the faithful for each other. The loyalty of the true believer is to the whole the church, party, nation and not to his fellow true believer. True loyalty between individuals is possible only in a loose and relatively free society All mass movements generate in their adherents a readiness to die and a proclivity for united action; all of them, irrespective of the doctrine they preach and the program they project, breed fanaticism, enthusiasm, fervent hope, hatred and intolerance; all of them are capable of releasing a powerful flow of activity in certain departments of life; all of them demand blind faith and singlehearted allegiance. Hitler, who sensed the undercurrent of admiration in hatred, drew a remarkable conclusion. It is of the utmost importance, he said, that the National Socialist should seek and deserve the violent hatred of his enemies. Such hatred would be proof of the superiority of the National Socialist faith. “The best yardstick for the value of his [the National Socialist’s] attitude, for the sincerity of his conviction, and the force of his will is the hostility he receives from the … enemy. Hitler, who had a clear vision of the whole course of a movement even while he was nursing his infant National Socialism, warned that a movement retains its vigor only so long as it can offer nothing in the present-only “honor and fame in the eyes of posterity. A just society must strive with all its might to right wrongs even if righting wrongs is a highly perilous undertaking. But if it is to survive, a just society must be strong and resolute enough to deal swiftly and relentlessly with those who would mistake its good will for weakness." Eric Hoffer, The True Believer: Thoughts on the Nature of Mass Movements

It helps me feel that my life has value. And it helps me feel that I am leaving something of importance to the future generations.
I am a born-again believer in Jesus Christ. All my Christian days I have believed in the separation of church and state. For this very reason. Christians have always feared and been taught the Democrats would shut the doors of our churches. I will tell you who will close the door to my church...the Christian Nationalists. If my loyalty, worship and praise is not given to trump they will shut my church down. If we do not worship, preach and teach trump they will not just close the doors, they will put me to death. How do I know that. They have a play book that puts all these things in motion, and I have a Bible that told me about their play book a long time ago. I knew what trump was the minute he DESCENDED down the escalator. A crooked slithering snake. I was 15 the day Jesus Christ found me. I am now 70 and a widow who lost her best friend 1 year ago. He was always a voting democrat. For the first time I will vote. I will vote Harris and Blue all the way across the board. Especially his last point that if he loses, he's done. He'll be relegated to just a nuisance--if by chance he avoids any jail time--and won't get the coverage he craves.
Really, even though he repeated the fauve outrage over a "roast comedians" bit, that even John Stewart got right. I guess you're telling Latinos not to vote for Kamala because she's racist, since George Lopez made a racist joke about Latinos all being thieves at a Kamala rally in Arizona. Oh, but, but, but..... Yes, practice those mental gymnastics. Fortunately, a lot of people are finally seeing thru this nonsense. The only part I don't agree with is 13:07 - if Donald Trump loses, he's not done. Not anywhere close. Even if he gets put to jail or dies, we can't lower our guard. The entire Republican party is corrupt, and almost half of American people had their minds poisoned by the cult. Even with him gone forever, there will just be another one to uphold his toxic "legacy". This is the most important election in US history, but so will be every next one as the Republicans won't return to normalcy. They'll keep being far-right, Russia backed traitors with no morals that want to weaken and destroy America from the inside. As much as it sucks, we have to vote blue, no matter who, or else it's game over for America.

That's the key difference: If you disagree with what Biden did or what Harris might do, you get to keep voting and pushing for change if Harris wins. If Trump wins, we will slowly have those choices removed and you get what you get. "Whether we like it or not," in his own words.
Abolish the Electoral College! Since I’m not in a swing state, my vote basically doesn’t count. Let’s get direct democracy and ranked choice voting on the very next ballot!!
The problem is that those with the power to abolish it are the ones who benefit from it. The US really need to get their voting systems sorted since a lot of their political issues have systemic roots, but it won’t be easy.
Abolish the electoral vote and just leave it to popular vote? With the way people soak up propaganda? No thanks. Contribute to your state more, the states are sovereign and that's going to be the only way this country moves forward once everyone understands this
I agree 100% that we should be fighting for ranked choice. But while the electoral college is a thing, you can vote swap with a protest voter in a swing state. Essentially sending your vote to where it will have the most impact, while still allowing the protest to be heard.
We'd need a constitutional convention to do that and that requires a majority of state governors to approve so that's a BIG ask. This is the reason state level races matter btw, we need those governors so we can add amendments to the constitution, like Healthcare for all, The right to a sustainable climate/environment, Bodily autonomy rights etc etc so they can't be removed via legislation. Get your friends to vote blue and maybe one day it can happen.
As an African American I can confidently say we have never gotten want we want from a presidential candidate but we vote for the candidate who will do us the least amount of damage. Seeing John get choked up talking about how much he loves this country, that he chose to be a citizen, hit hard. I'm a naturalized US citizen and every word of his last speech felt like he was speaking for so many of us who chose to make this country our home.
I remember John trying to make an equivalence between Trump and Hillary with cookies and raisins. That subtlety seems to have been pushed through a glass window, from a 100 story building, and lit on fire on the way down. Now he outrights tells you what to do, and the DNC outrights tells you who you are allowed to vote for, and organizations are getting attacked for failing to endorse a candidate. These are terrible times, the left should be ashamed to have ever been associated with the democrats.
One quote from Obama’s time in office I still use frequently is, “better is still better.” He was talking about how he had to deal with disappointed democrats after getting the ACA passed. It wasn’t everything everyone hoped for, but it was way better than what we had. Same is true for VP Harris. She isn’t everything we hoped for, but she is way better than what we had 2016-2020. Just like I don’t want to go back to before the ACA existed, I don’t want to go back to when Trump was president
obama sold out with the ACA. and because of him i lost healthcare, and ever since, have been forced to choose between eating, or an 8,000 per year premium, for one, vs paying a fine for not being able to afford hc because i make just that much over to qualify for any subsidy. for me, his only saving grace is he oversaw the elimination of DOMA and the ushering in of marriage equality. so yeah, no matter how pathetic, better is better, but f'ck obama and f'ck his version of hope. i bought into it, literally, with donations, and my hope for quality health care got f'cked

God, just the thought that John shared at the end of the video that Trump might be done after this election made me want to cry with relief. It feels so impossible for him to go away after everything he’s done that hasn’t affected him, but John made it sound believable. I know it might not happen, and it’ll only happen if he loses, and even if he goes away the problems he’s created will last for years to come. But I hadn’t realized how badly I needed that hope. Let’s vote and make it a reality.
For months Democrats lied to our faces about Biden's health and when they got caught they replaced him with someone in whom the electorate had no say. If you're defending this don't bother framing yourselves as the party that's saving democracy.
How? Harris hasn’t taken accountability for anything. She won’t even admit to anything she’d wish she’d done differently regarding mistakes she’s made at any time in her career. She was asked about prop 36 in CA, which was a layup for her to respond to, and she wouldn’t even answer that claiming it was close to the election.

Well they have said numerous times that they wouldn't protect the 1st and second amendment, and they violated almost all the bill of rights during covid... My body my choice until it came to an unproven vaccine

If you think not voting for Harris will help Palestinians, just remember that *Netanyahu* wants Trump elected. If you think you can use this as leverage to pressure Democrats to support Palestine in 2028, just remember that if Trump wins, Palestine most likely *will not be there* in 2028, rendering it moot. Finally, if you were too young to vote in 2016, as I was, remember that we were given Trump by people refusing to vote for Clinton over Trump, and that we who had no say were sentenced to these last eight years by those people. _Do you really want to be the people who sentence the next generation in the same way?_

My other grandma died literally the same day Vance said his “Grandma can help pay for it” comment. They’re so unhinged there might’ve never been any hinges to begin with. @@tdyang4249 When it comes to the war in Ukraine, this election may doom Ukraine's efforts in gaining back lost territory. I appreciate you and your team for getting this out before the election, John. I am registered in NC and requested a mail-in ballot to where I'm currently staying at for job training in AZ. They couldn't deliver my ballot for some reason, so the night before the end of early voting in NC, I got on a red-eye flight to Charlotte (airline benefits, flying for free whenever you want is fun), cast my vote the next day among other commitments I had while there, and flew back that afternoon. I know for certain that every vote will matter, even more so in swing states. I'm currently an unaffiliated voter with stances from both sides that I support, but Donald Trump is more dangerous than a lot of people realize, and it's frustrating that the race is still this close.
Thank you for putting in the effort. Sometimes one vote doesn't seem like a lot, but if YOU'RE willing to take a flight to vote, maybe others will be inspired to put in effort, too.
Not surprising, though. Conservative groups have gutted our history classes, and have presented an alternative reality. And banned books that might teach young people about the dangers of what we’re currently going through.

@@wesleyedwards2764Completely agree. Politics is about making Everybody happy, and is a vague thing and people need to be able to read between the lines. That being said, most people do not understand that, social media has objectively made people dumber and more individualistic, believing politics is meant to solve their individual problems. I saw a comment that said “my rent is high, which candidate is gonna fix that.” None, dear. None of them. It doesn’t work like that. The DNC needs to understand the type of people they are working with, this is not the 90s or the 00s when people made educated decisions, this is a post-social media world where peoples brains have been rotted to be more emotional than ever, yes, even libs. Libs thinking they are smart and educated and will make the right decision is the reason trump was elected in 2016. It’s time to begin addressing the reality. People Do make decisions on candidates’ mannerisms, and dems have kept thinking oh only idiots think that way, most people want to go back to a time where candidates were professional. Not true. Trump’s personality has won over many centrists, yes even me at a time. I came to my senses quickly of course. The DNC needed to never nominate Biden in the first place, it should’ve been Kamala from the start. Changing the nomination in July was, a good decision, but one that should’ve been made earlier to prevent so much haste. She should’ve been prepared for this candidacy. Her laugh Is weird, she Does take a long time to get to her point, her policies Are vague and not punchy like Trump’s, and those things Do matter, very much so. You have to make it short and sweet for people and most of her conversations are long winded. Which means: This election is left in the hands of intelligent people who have to make a strategic decision. Bad move, cuz most people dont like to think, they want it handed to them. The DNC should’ve handed it to people. Speaking of people wanting things handed to them, I have seen the silliest comments regarding this election on RUclips. On a video about a 2025-trump-presidency world, a viewer wrote, “I wonder what Kamala’s policies are. I don’t like Trump, but I dont know her policies. Can you make a video?” Google it. Go to her website. This person is asking someone to write, record, edit, and upload a video just for them that they might not even end up watching instead of looking it up. Also ignoring the fact that, it literally doesn’t matter what her policies are: she’s not rewriting laws and destroying the fabric of this country. On Blair White’s “Im Trans and Voting for Trump” video, mindless viewers are siding with her without doing any of their own research. Including Blair. Yes, there was a wave of scary libs on TikTok threatening all this stuff with trans/ gay stuff. Most gay/ trans ppl are not like that, it’s such a small yet vocal minority, yet people use those idiots to decide to vote for trump. Sheesh. Your comment didnt deserve this rant. But here it is anyway. Clearly im worked up

I’m 49 years old and have never voted in my life. I never have because I’ve never trusted or believed in anybody to give my vote to. While I still feel that way today, I made the decision to vote blue simply out of necessity. I don’t think Kamala Harris is the right person for this job and things will probably get worse before they get better.. but because of who Donald Trump is and what he represents, and the danger to the future of our country he poses, we gotta do what we Gotta do.
I respect your stance, and I appreciate you voting regardless of it. Sometimes, unfortunately, voting is not about what's good for us; it's about what's the least harmful for us. At this point we're in it for damage control and the *possibility* things might get better. There is no future where that is possible with Trump in office.
Harris is a fine choice for you people who seem so worried and also know nothing about politics. Trump, on the other hand, has already showed us that he is a disaster waiting to do more harm.

If I was watching a basketball game and 12 of 15 calls were being made by the mom of one of the other team's players, I'd ignore them. Trump pretty much admitted he's paying for polls to say whatever he wants them to say (probably to set up his defense when he loses) by accusing Kamala of buying the results in Iowa. If you'd like to watch something to feel a little better, PoliticsGirl's Trump Is Losing vid is under 5 minutes and lays it out well. Also check out the Iowa poll and how they did it to reflect *all* voters, not just what they have listed as "likely". Flipped like crazy in Kamala's favor. I think this is a race where the polls are going to be even wrong-er than last time and either way certainly shouldn't be causing anxiety, cuz they are probably not predictive. I know it's just three data points, but James Carville and Michael Moore also predict Kamala will win, as well as Beau of the Fifth Column's channel predicts at least a popular win. Usually they are very conservative about predictions and Moore predicted Trump last time. I understand the anxiety so I hope some of this helps! I'm a registered Republican who's helping to turn Iowa Blue this year. I have my own disagreements with Harris on major issues specifically as it relates to life of the unborn child. But that's an issue worth debating. Trump's actions on January 6 are not. I'm not sure what all the main-stream media are crying about. I also watched many video footages regarding to voting frauds and I fully understand their concerns, although I don't fully believe that these minor incidents could switch the result. The biggest problem of Kamala supporters is that they're too lazy to finish the whole speech of one person but only trust the twisted reports from mainstream media.

Same thought, so infuriating
All I know is Biden can't get enough of ice creams and Donny love some Mac-D😅
I was thinking that he didn't mention this case and how important a "right to repair" rule really is for small businesses. Being locked into maintenance agreements can be expensive. Biden's administration has really gotten no credit for anything has it...

"It is a truism that many who join a rising revolutionary movement are attracted by the prospect of sudden and spectacular change in their conditions of life.
Had they not joined the Nazi movement in order to be free from responsibility
Passionate hatreds can give meaning and purpose to an empty life.
True loyalty between individuals is possible only in a loose and relatively free society
All mass movements generate in their adherents a readiness to die and a proclivity for united action; all of them, irrespective of the doctrine they preach and the program they project, breed fanaticism, enthusiasm, fervent hope, hatred and intolerance; all of them are capable of releasing a powerful flow of activity in certain departments of life; all of them demand blind faith and singlehearted allegiance.
But if it is to survive, a just society must be strong and resolute enough to deal swiftly and relentlessly with those who would mistake its good will for weakness."

If my loyalty, worship and praise is not given to trump they will shut my church down. If we do not worship, preach and teach trump they will not just close the doors, they will put me to death.
Reps kow exactly they'd never have a president again when EC gets abolished

Politico has a good article explaining why that couldn't happen in America in just 4 years.
"And I'd argue there is nothing more American than having a healthy adversarial relationship with those in power, even if you voted for them."
That's the key. Presidents, senators, congressmen, etc. are PUBLIC SERVANTS. As in, they are supposed to serve the interests of the public, the people, taxpayers that elect them. You're supposed to be able to engage with them as constituents and work together to realize the goals of your community and nation. If they don't, that's why we (allegedly) have a democracy, and why voting matters. Trump serves no one other than himself. End of story.

My biggest fear, is that he's sowed the seed of fascism. A younger, more charismatic version of him that doesn't run the campaign off the rails in the throes of cognitive decline, is still a very very real threat in 2028 and beyond. When Harris wins, WE need to do everything we can to show how much better life is getting for everyone. Take away the pain, and the excuses for hate, and the power that demagogues wield diminishes drastically.
America has always been fascist. Ask the indigenous and black people.
How can we do that without stomping on the 1st amendment protecting people's rights to complain about everything and have it be magnified by algorithms because rage is better for clicks?
@@LtChamberz No kidding, it IS a problem. There is going to have to being some improvement in identifying and (legally!) holding bad actors and chaos agents (and foreign entities) into painful account for spreading disinformation and meddling in our political discourse and domestic business.
@@LtChamberz as one shit for brains loser put it before buying a platform and spewing his own certified horseshit everywhere and run said platform into the ground. you have the right to speech but not of reach.
@@LtChamberzHonestly? We're probably gonna have to work out some more specific rules for the 1st amendment the same way that other modern countries have. The founding fathers couldn't have imagined a world touched by the internet and where misinfo is so easily spread, and we probably need to update some of our stuff to account for these things.
Imo step one is just aboloshing the electoral college. Freedom of speech should involve freedom of our voices actually meaning literally anything in this country. The fact that the actual population's wishes are not factored in to the election is insane when we claim to love freedom of speech and individuality.

Yes, I agree with that. Let's hope the Americans get their act together. It would be terrible to see the country that (along with its Allies) liberated us from fascism end up falling victim to it itself.

If we really took the dangers of autocracy and fascism seriously here in Germany, we would've stopped supporting and defending the Israeli government long ago. Wow! This is being released today instead of Thursday. I mean, that obviously makes sense because people need to hear it now. Thank you!!
I read all of Barack's books. He did the best he could with Moscow Mitch dedicated to stopping every good idea BO had.
obama sold out with the ACA. and because of him i lost healthcare, and ever since, have been forced to choose between eating, or an 8,000 per year premium, for one, vs paying a fine for not being able to afford hc because i make just that much over to qualify for any subsidy. for me, his only saving grace is he oversaw the elimination of DOMA and the ushering in of marriage equality. so yeah, no matter how pathetic, better is better, but f'ck obama and f'ck his version of hope. i bought into it, literally, with donations, and my hope for quality health care got f'cked

Harris will protect our right to disagree with her and hold her accountable. Trump will not. It’s that simple, and I wish people would consider that.
How? Harris hasn’t taken accountability for anything. She won’t even admit to anything she’d wish she’d done differently regarding mistakes she’s made at any time in her career. John, I don't know how you're always so spot on all the time, but thanks for this.
John, what you do has been the source of comfort for so many of us. THANK YOU!

There's still more people voting for Trump than there were for Hitler's party in the last free German elections of 1933. That ship has already sailed.
Some people are wise enough to learn from other’s mistakes and from history. I don’t think the conservative party is wise at all tho.

Clearly im worked up
It just...depresses me that it's even close. So many things should've snapped in people's minds that Trump is the worst case scenario. And what depresses me is that these are not from ignorant people, they know and they either don't care or like it. This should not be a close race...

As a registered Democrat, I really hope you get a chance to vote for someone who you fully back somewhere in the very near future. We can't sustain a government with only one sane perspective.
Thank you for voting for sanity. I am a lefty independent who is voting Harris.
Curious to hear you "disagreements" about "unborn children." But I'll say PLEASE... leave women tf alone to choose for their own bodies, along with their doctors. Women with WANTED pregnancies are DYING now because of anti-abortion laws.
If we can rid ourselves of Trump being a part of our lives that alone is worth a vote for Harris.
John, I have always enjoyed and appreciated you, admired and respected you. Now, I want to thank you for these words and tell you how grateful my spirit is to be moved by the message of much, much needed HOPE💙. Oh, how I needed to hear you right at this very moment. Again, thank you.
My god, I've been too terrified to realize the possibility of not having to live in fear of Trump and the damage he can do anymore. That sounds so nice
that fear is irrational build by the media. he is just a dude

It can't hurt, now, so let's see if some "magical thinking" can help. Think more about the Nice Ending!
Those voters aren't going to start reading a history book when Trump fails, you know. They will cast about for a new Stephen Miller type in four years' time.
It's nice to think about, until you realize his legacy will live on in his base. We Will probably see Vance run in 2028, possibly another DeSantis run, maybe even one of Trump's sons. I just hope Ted Cruz doesn't run again.
Don't Bully Me, I'll Vote!
You are stinky!
Why not both?
You're so goofy, I bet you feel so silly every day you don't vote. Go put on your white coat and an orange nose or go vote you silly goose /j
Sounds like your loss
Hey, can you explain the T-Shirt Joke to me? I'm from germany, I get, that the second part of the sentence has a sexual meaning, but I don't get how the whole sentence makes sense together
Thank you John Oliver!
