- Today on Dirt Lifestyle we have two Jeeps, two Toyotas and we are hitting the muddy trails of Elbe ORV! The Busy Wild more specifically. Maxx Powell, Kelly from Muddy Beards and Franz join me as we test out Maxx's new Toyota Tacoma. This is Maxx's first real wheeler and will be featured on our channel a lot this year. In this video he has a set of 36s but some bead locks and 39s are on the way! This was a great time with great people and I cant wait to hit the trails again with this group!
Enjoy the video folks!

Skill, good attitude, crazy wheeling, a great editor and great music. You guys do it right.
Not only are there viewers of the channel in Israel, there are followers !!
I really like the channel and the content! Great fun to see the motor culture in the US and watch motor adventures abroad ..
דביר, אני אוהב גם את הערוץ של נייט. מציע לך לבדוק גם את הערוץ שלי. Jeep tech.
אני לוקח הרבה השראה מנייט.
Nate Yes! We’re watching your great channel here in Israel.
I’ll second that, from a subscriber in New Zealand. 🇳🇿

Looked like my last wheeling trip. Snow ice and mud is the perfect mix
Had a blast rolling with you guys! Can't wait to get back out there. Awesome video man 🤙
Great job out there! Can’t wait to see more of that truck!
I'm dragging you on many of these adventures this year lol 😁
Nice colab on this video Maxx 👍👍
Good attempts max, looking forward to seeing how you build the yota.
Love your attitude !
Wow now that's some mud. I thought the bush was muddy here in Ontario Canada right now. Looks like it was a blast.
This video was insane! Great edit, amazing rigs, and I’m super jealous haha. I’ve been a viewer of Max’s channel for a long time, now I’m subbed to your channel. Keep it up! Your all crazy!
Great video and finally some guys who know how to drive.
Mad props on your editing skills bro!!
Thanks man! I try to get better with every video 👍
Yes your editing skills are amazing, my respect for Matt but your editing skills is what sets you way way apart
10 psi?! Ran my 88 Burb at 3psi! Get that boy to let some pressure out! Bet that lil Toy would keep up!
When they are going over the rock section it was like I was watching a tire commercial
Thanks Guys for a good time in Elbe.....
That trail looks like a blast!
It is! I highly recommend it
Well when the borders open up might have to make a trip down to come wheelin!
I dont miss living on the West side of the Cascade mountains at all. Give me the high deserts of Oregon. Dont get me wrong we have some bottomless mud here during some winters, but living on the Westside most of my live both in Oregon and Washington . I got tired of it. But you guys are for sure having fun!
There’s a guy on RUclips who did this trail in an fj with ifs still and he just about totaled it in the amount of trail damage
You gotta take Maxx up to the funny and moon rocks.
I think you should think about some super swampers
This was a great video. I would like to come play with you guys one day.
"There will be MUD" haha!! Classic!!
I've gone down that trail in a extra cab 93 short bed chevy on 46s and a built.big block lots of over revs and broken windows/smashed body panels i beat it to hell only winched once
Maxx needs a “members only” jacket lol 😂
Lol yes he does
Nate I'll be expecting my jacket next time we hang out 😄
@@Maxx.Powell hahahaha 🤙🏻 there ya go bud!
This is awesome! Any chance you could get around to doing some super dry, steep, loose, shaley high sierra stuff this summer? The smells of the Sierras in the summer is the best! Would be cool to see you do some overlanding out there and wind down with some ice cold IPA 🍻
sometime I should come hit the trials with you guys. I have a 1968 gmc s15
Dude. There is just a special editing touch that you have. I really hope people recognize the unique, top-notch content you’re putting out there. I, personally hate mud-running, but I could watch this, and many other #DirtLifestyle videos over and over. The only thing I do disagree with...no drinking while on the trail. Maybe blur out that Coors golden at 7:20 ish.
Thanks man!
I don't drink and wheel but I don't have an issue with it or say anything to those that do it. But I make it clear that if they don't want to be seen drinking online they need to hide it.
I knew just from the thumbnail this was Elbe hills. I was there yesterday
I work on pipelines in northern alberta and that is what we call an access road.
Im sure all the 1 ton trucks with welder/generators would blow right passed all these guys too huh....
Yeah this is not a road bud. Trolls gunna troll
Wow that got misinterpreted. I wasn't slagging these guys at all. If anything I was just marvelling at how well the rigs did. Only one guy broke and was laughing about it. This is the fun aspect of four wheeling. The only way pipeline equipment would get through those trails was with help from a Track-hoe and a D8 and maybe a big 4Wheel drive Steiger and everything with rubber tires all chained up to the nuts. That is when four wheeling isn't fun but you are getting paid to do it. It is a weird juxtaposition.
Sick edit! So gritty, so grimy so good.
The lighting is so perfect 🤘WE'RE NOT WORTHY
Spotters? ......pfffft who needs em u guys can drive wow 🤩
Franz is like let's drive enough chit chat
I will come up there and wheel after get it rolling. You have to be the guide
Heck, my Excursion wouldn't even fit down a lot of what they showed. Good thing I live and wheel in Colorado and not in that goop. :D
we had a trench run like that here called the washing machine. they're building the new windsor detroit bridge where it was... :(
That is one place I don’t want to wheel. I hate mud. I prefer dry trail, sand, snow, and rocks but I hate mud.
Great review
Did you buy that taco from a guy named Adam? It looks his truck. Is the frame and bed shortened. Looks like the front shock hoops I helped him build when I lived in Seattle.
Under appreciated video, well done guysss
Część kolejny fajny film , lubię ten kanał pozdrowienia z Polski , p.s zobacz na offroad w Polsce u mnie na kanale
PNW NOTHIN LIKE IT! My rig ain't built for this but where is this??
Definitely one of your muddier videos haha was wondering did you switch out tires for the muddy conditions
I swapped to the KM3s as a cold weather tire. I'm currently looking for a second set of wheels for the stickies 👍
Nice I got a set of km3s on order now currently I have km2s on my jeep
Man I have been wanting to go to elby for a while just want to get me xj built more so I stay closer to home in tahuya I'd love to go wheeling with you guys some time
Man I would kill to have the money to build a Toyota like that.
That was cool.
Loving the intro music! What song is that?
Good question I will have to look 👍
I'd love to come wheeling with you guy's. If you ever want to venture out to Canada hit me up, great place to wheel in Alberta called McLean.
Sick video! What is that song around 14 minutes??!
Cuz its fun...
Great video
I’m in Australia here
Tell franz he needs an ls... oh wait 😂
Lol very soon
This looks identical to British Columbia
Love your videos where about are you guys located it Canada?
hah unc franz bein unc franz as usual
Does that Jeep have a 4bt in it or what is the setup?
Does the Tacoma have a 3.4 or 2.7?
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the quality of this video. It's so good.
That's some mud!!
Gotta do a collab when the border opens up
We gotta get you down here bro 👊
@@DirtLifestyle ASAP.
YES!
@@DirtLifestyle i second that notion..👍
What's the point of having a truck or jeep if you don't even go off road. It's a bumpy world out there. Not to mention you learn how to wrench on your own rig, which can be a lifesaver.
Had a great time as always🤟🏻 although I feel like I will be cleaning this mud off the Jeep for the next year🤣
I made the mistake of letting the mud dry. It's like concrete now 😄
Lol for sure!
@@Maxx.Powell Put an Osculating sprinkler under and let it do the work for you. Just move it every 15 minutes or so snd you are golden. Works better than anything I have ever seen.
@@Captain-Awesome I've lived in SC and mudded in Red Clay my whole life and I have never thought of this... you sir are a genius! or at the least possess more common sense than I have.
@@anthonyraines5951 LOL!! Here in the Dallas, Texas area we have our fair share of clay too. Have you had a chance to use it yet? I tried it several years ago and couldn’t believe how quickly and easily it worked. Even better if you have a street gutter near by. Surprisingly it cleans the sides really well too.
@Maxx Powell
13:10 max says, “have you ever ridden an alder [tree]”
That’s actually a real thing, but where I’m from it’s called tree top surfing or salad surfing and it’s usually the tops of young trees that are green and can bend without breaking. You start on top of a hill and run and jump to the first tree and see how many times you can transfer to another tree like Tarzan.
We used to call it dinasouring in Alaska, 40 yrs ago. Exactly as described above, except you climbed the first tree.
The title could have been Trial by Roots, Rocks, Puddles, and Mud...ha ha ! That was a seriously sick trail !
I think it's reference to Rudy Giuliani's "Trial by fire" quote before the Insurrection.
This might be my favorite RUclips video. I grew up 4wheeling with friends. I probably spend too much on my rig and dont want to beat it up too much....(daily driver)Seams these days i get put camping the back country but not really "wheeling" . This video really makes me want a full time 4wheel rig. Great videos you put out 💪💪. Thanks for inspiring many
I was dying at franz post on IG and had no idea you guys were this close!! Micheal Blair tells me I need to get my ass north in the k30 and play in the mud with you guys and I see why now 🤣🤣🤣 my channel will have to wait because I need some of this type of party lol
Looks like a wicked good time. One notice, should prob edit out drinking and off roading imo. We’ve had a lot of deaths on our trails we ride due to it.
That was sick, mountain wheeling is some of the best! Nice edit bro!
Thanks!
Gah... another great video! Do you have a playlist or source for song selection?
If you figured out the song about half way through id love to know
I've never in my life been "off road" but this is awesome! Thank you for bringing us along!
Thanks! You should start! Just don't start on the busywild... 🤣
Awesome video!! I just got my first "real" trail rig as well!! A 93 4runner. I still got some work to do on it, and I'm recovering from ankle surgery right now, but as soon as I'm back on 2 feet, I'll be gettin'er goin and hittin some trails! Can't wait!! Much love and respect to you Nate! Thank you for another dope episode brother!!!
Thanks for watching man 👍 I hope you have a speedy recovery
@@DirtLifestyle 👋 Thank you buddy!!
It's been 20 years since I've been there. I forgot how beautiful the woods are there. It's a very majestic landscape almost prehistoric in areas.
OMG, i follow Shawn and Casey and Epic Adventure Outfitters as well, would be so cool to see Dirt Lifestyle and them in a huge collab one day..
Definitely love to see @thestorytilnow do a trip into the PNW area with Nate. So much cool stuff down there
We will definitely make that happen 👊
I'll be down there as soon as we are allowed 🤠👍
Honestly they push their sponsors garbage way too much. I enjoyed Casey before he started hanging out with Sean... & Sean before he got sponsors
Sean took off a quality Evo lift & put on a Teraflex lift with bushings & then said it was better. 😉.... just Bc he got a sponsorship with TF
Stuff like that is lame.
@@adidas4275 I said it's better for me and my environment, and how much I wheel. Which it is. I explained this clearly in my video. I don't push anything, I run what I want and I tell it how it is. In fact I specifically refused to agree to "not say anything bad" about Teraflex's parts if I didn't like them. I also paid for those parts (with a slight discount for throwing up their logo in the video). Your opinion that their stuff is garbage is YOUR opinion, not mine. I could have gone to any company I want and gotten any stuff I want. The suggestion that I'm pushing anything because I got it for free (which I didn't) is nonsense.
I’d love to see what you think of the small Tacoma’s previous owner’s SAS. I assume you’ll be in some of Maxx’s videos as he addresses everything with it. What a day!
Same. I wann see some pick apart videos lol i love the build pick aparts at the campsite with my buddies lol
What is the name of that song playing at 14:50 ish?
Not sure. I will have to look
@@DirtLifestyle U DA MAN!
Great video, Nate. I love seeing these collab videos with Max. Funny just a few months ago I was thinking “I wonder if Max and Nate will do videos together since their both PNW, then like two weeks later you guys put up the first collab video.
Thanks man me too! Maxx is great! I'm lucky to know him
I'm a noob & jist subbed to this channel but Maxx has 1 as well?
Love to learn more about that taco
@@macattack1392 hey man. 👋 this should help you find my channel. Thanks for your interest!
Such a sick video man! Some SERIOUS off road action haha 🔥
Thanks!
This was a fun edit I bet....Coming for a career editor, this was outstanding bud.
Such an awesome video.....bucket list to get out some day with a group like that. Need to purchase another rig to beat up a bit. What a blast
Why’d u take ur red labels off ur rig Nate?
To cold for the reds. It was mid 30s all day. I'm looking for another set of beadlocks for my red to use as a summer tire. Then I will swap these KM3s on for the winter 👍
U need to try and come to TN and run those Red’s at Windrock!!! Could set u up with some Bad-A jeep rigs down here!!!
Oh man! I hate the mud. Mostly cleaning it out of every crack and hole on my Jeep and myself. You boys can keep that, and I’m happy here watching. Here in Colorado we would never get anything like that because the Forest service gestopo closes every thing after the first snow until it’s gone. Fun video guys👍
Most places in the PNW do too to lower maintenance cost
Its amazing how culture varies isn't it? When I was younger growing up in the south if you said offroading I assumed mud. It never occurred to me there was anything else.
Awesome video! Welcome to the mud trail membership Maxx!! Woohoo! Great to see you there again Nate! Thanks again for awesome content!
Your best video yet IMO. Lots of positivity, entertaining, and brotherly love. Trial by fire is probably the best way to weed out weak links in a new rig early. Great job!
One word.... Boggers! lol Great video as always.
This just wouldn’t be any fun for me. Now if I had a truck that it didn’t matter if it got beat up and it was built to the point it wouldn’t break unless your being a jackass I’d probably have a decent time but I like distance not insanity lol. I’ll take a good exploration over a few miles or torment lol
Rocks, mud & a fun day out with friends. What could be better, nice vid Nate 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
From Muddy Beards, to Dirt Lifestyle, then adding Max in there. This is my favorite group of RUclipsrs. My side would be split hanging out with all y’all in the woods.
Love the deep cut ruts / wash aways. Bogger territory.
Nice one . Watched twice . What music is that on 14s
Sick! Hey, would you say here in the pnw you can get away with bigger tires than your drivetrain might normally handle? Do to the slickness?
I'm all paranoid about my 21 spline input on dual cases behind my little 20r.
This time of year, absolutely. There is no traction at elbe in March lol
@@DirtLifestyle alright thanks man. Maybe I'll see you out there sometime.
omg another franz... so rare in USA...
looks like so much fun, but I just can't imagine putting my Tacoma through that. Besides, my wife would kill me!
Looks like she already has...
Clearly you guys had fun, that’s what’s it’s all about. Next... MudPlz😉
I freakin love this channel.
Thanks brother 🙏
Boat ramp was much harder than I thought a boat ramp would be.
I'd love to see you take the Disco 2 on that trail. Please!
WHAT! You took Max out for his first hard core run in his new untried Tacoma without him having a MAXIDENT? Incredible as that was there is no way I would subject my built 95 Tacoma to that torture test. Guess I'm to conservative in my senior years. Great Video Nate!
I lost a tail light I think that might count haha 😄
@@Maxx.Powell Yes indeed plus the 2 dings but nothing major. I call those boo, boos or ah shits
Great video 😁 looking forward to more!!!
Thanks!
Excellent video. I only wish I had a truck that capable. I’ve done close to that sort of mess but that was years ago. Now I just enjoy watching other people trying.
Awsome trail ride nate the toyota did well, l would take my stock 2dr jk rubi with winch thought there!
Very cool video. I enjoyed it as I sit buy my fire pit. I just finished putting 5inches on my 2and gen tracker 4 door with 31" Goodyear durateks and locked rear. Gonna take the family to windrock park for camping and fun to try it out. $1k total investment so far. Between your and muddy beards how to vids i'm going to full size axle swap it with barnes 4x4 link kits this winter. They are 20 miles from me which is awesome. Again. Thank you for awesome videos with great information. I know you work very hard at it.
Maxxident!!
Enjoying the Toyota content. Have seen a few on Maxx' channel now.
great vid! looks so fun :) love the tunes choice this week!!!!!
Thanks!
Love the Maxx Powell collaborations!!!
Me too! Great guy for sure
@@DirtLifestyle I have been watching you both for a while and it's cool to see some fellow Pnw guys
