Piggery farming is a very lucrative business if you follow a scientific method of farming. We all know that we are unable to meet the demand of the market and therefore the state purchase from different states such as Punjab, Haryana, UP etc.
As per the reliable sources the state spend around 2k crore every year on pork meat, which is a great loss for the state.
If the present educated unemployed youths can get into this field instead of waiting for Government job then you'll not only prosper but also contribute in the state economy when the money is circulated within us.
Those youths who are really interested should first undergo proper training before you start a piggery farm, because for a profitable piggery farm you'll need to opt for scientific method of farming.

@@kohitoawomi1919 . All rural households in north east can do backyard pig rearing. Rearing one or two pigs each with no labour cost, feed with local vegetables and low cost shed construction. Then we can sell price at a much lower rates than coming from outside.

I am rearing pigs from my personal experience unless there is a rate difference between local organic fed pigs and commercial feed fed pigs, the local pig farmer cannot compete with commercial feed fed pigs, besides import of pig from outside the state.Unless, the local butchers buy pigs from our local pig farmers, there is no scope for local pig farmers because only for weddings and parties our people use to buy local pigs. There is a huge growth rate difference between commercial feed fed pigs and organic feed fed pigs. This I have practically experience. The healthiest food is organic food. The price of organic feed pork should be Rs.50 per kg higher than commercial feed pork. Those who care for health let them choose local and those who wish to save money let them go for commercial feed pork..This way consumers will have two options.

Wholesale rate is very high -Rs 270/280 as present retail market price per kg is Rs 300 bcoz For retailer high transport cost also incurred .So Whole rate has to be atleast in between Rs 240-250 for every one sustenance.

Piggery can be profitable provided import of pig is banned and our local butchers buy from local pig farmers for daily slaughter, but our local butchers will never buy from local pig farmers because the live weight per Kg for local breed pig ranges from 250-280.where as local butchers get it for 200 per kg for import pigs..So local pigs are only purchased for wedding feasts and for festive purposes.Besides, for wedding feast we Nagas have this superstitious belief that male pigs weight more than female pigs.Consideting all these factors, pig rearing is not very encouraging.

Double calculation. You mentioned 64,000 kg in 365 days (which itself is one year). So why multiply 64,000 with 365 again?
You could simply multiply the yearly produce, i.e., 64,000 kg/year with the cost (amount), i.e., 300/- per kg.
BTW wholesale price is lower than 300.
