- Agriculture is the backbone of the Kenyan economy. There's without a doubt a huge unventured industry in the African Agricultural sector. Jasper Murume sits with this journalist-turned-farmer as he picks his brain on matters agroeconomics and what it takes to be a young farmer in Kenya.
This is Caleb Karuga's journey as a farmer.
Murume, this is the type of stories you should be bringing for those of us who are into investing and financial freedom. Bring many more like him.

Wow, I’m not even Kenyan, nor African, I’m Jamaican so you lost me when you switched to you native language. I however, was still able to follow and gained a lot from the interview, thank you! Very insightful.
Listening to Karuga's Agribusiness journey is so inspiring.
Take homes.
1. As a farmer, you need to do research. Support your farming idea with some research. For example, Karuga found out that there was a chicken market in Angola. Goat milk is good for children suffering from eczema.
2. Find your place in the value chain, for example, he has realized that you make more returns when you breed goats.
3. He also understands the science behind his venture
4. Understand where your market is. He said mboga ya kienyeji can do well in cosmopolitan areas.
5. He is going against the grain and is very analytical.
Great stuff Murume! The next billionaires will come from Africa! My 9 year old daughter Amani who is a beekeeper,a singer and a Honey manufacturer we are doing serious farming infact today we are harvesting JUICY ORGANIC SEXY tomatoes in the middle of Kajiado County! Love it
Thank God for the guest for speaking English. The host could not be bothered. I wonder if he’s interested in growing his numbers.
