Thanks Nathan. You're the best, ever.
Y'all made a dope piece of software and knocked it out of the park here
No, thank you LANDR for making something awesome. Next, figure out how to allow us to live jam together. hehe. I challenge you! :)
Does it work in stereo? :)
@landr @nathan - does this software have the ability to capture audio from the collaborator directly into the daw session?
Wow, my brother - a re-mix producer and I were just talking about collaborating on some sessions... this is a no brainer. He's in Greensboro North Carolina I'm in Colombia South America
It's dope man - totally worth it
JACK Audio Connection Kit (or JACK) is a professional sound server API and pair of daemon implementations to provide real-time, low-latency connections for both audio and MIDI data between applications
This is great! I work for LANDR and have not seen this yet. Really jam packed with its good info. Thanks man! ❤
Seriously folks - this software is a BIG DEAL for those wanting to really do this thing and be able to collaborate remote. GAME. CHANGER.
What difference is there with a Zoom call with shared audio and screen ?
Can two people be producing at the same time or is this just a way for one person to be a viewer/listener while one person produces? Wondering if this is a good tool for EDM collabs.
i believe the latency issue is fixable (sort of) think about it...if i play xbox with someone we all see, play and hear the same game at the same time and we all use different controllers, systems, screens etc. All while we are in a party together communicating. now of course theres latency in the party vs being in a discord. Theres also lagging and server issues, but overall we are pretty much collaborating in gaming with people from all over the world so there has to be a way that translates to music. Besides i don't need to hear your session in time my session i need to hear my session and play in time with my session and then you see and hear what i do in time with what's on your screen. Source connect was able to allow one session to be a host and control playback on a remote session via rewire, but gaming has already shown us that actual live collaboration is possible. So i'm not sure why someone hasn't used that technology to translate that to real time remote music collaboration.
This is great! Me and an old buddy want to record but I'm in the midwest and hes on the west coast. This looks like a solution.
this is excellent, Nathan. cheers
Steinberg VST Connect does allow for pretty good remote recording. Has been around for a long time.
Def gonna try this
does everyone in the call need to purchase landr sessions to use it? if we were to only use one person’s daw audio, would everyone else still have to have a landr sessions plan?
This is gonna be a huge game changer for me and my bandmates! You're the bee's knee's Nathan, thank you!
🔥🔥🔥🙌🏻😎😎😎😎thanks dude!
@@NathanJamesLarsen know anyone using this with Reason?
this is dope. look into mixed in key satellite sessions when you can. takes this to another level
THANK YOU SO MUCH 😊
🥳🥳😎😎😎😎
I've just been using parsec. Low latency and they can use their mouse and keyboard on my shared screen.
I do the same. I see no real need for this tbh.
@@ThroughFallenEyes I know he's a Mac user so it's probably the best option for him. But yeah parsec is dumb easy to use and free
Hi Nathan, Im having issues on the sample rate, the audio that I am getting into my phone via the app is forced to 441kHz as my project session is on 48kHz. I am unable to change any settings for the audio to stream as 48kHz, unlike ListenTo by Audio Movers will not tamper the sample rate. Could you kindly help me on that please.
At 4:36 you say that with sessions the artist/client can get a month of LANDR for $8, does that mean that each collaborator that joins a session you have started has to pay? Or is it only paid by the person starting the session?
I’m wondering the same 😮
I'm not really sure what is special about it since you pretty much share your audio in zoom the same way and pretty much achieve the same thing? And it's free to do it with zoom.. Am I wrong?
Still on the fence, i have clunked together a solution with Zoom and musician mode, with the free version i can get 40 minute chunks, but apart from the time limit there is also the disadvantage of using obs virtual camera for screen sharing ( which gives more control) that can lead to less readable screens (as the cam input in zoom is optimised for fr face portrait).
Basicalky i have 2PCs side by side i use the one with mic as my host and route the audio signal from the other (my DAW) over into the hw input (Steinberg UR 44C). This way i can mix my mic and the stereo signal from Cubase in real time. On the DAWi then join the call just to share my screen. Since i am using a kvr to switch between screens and a Mackie Mixer that mutes the DAW in my cans so i listen to the ther PC only, it can sometimes be confusing when setting up.
I wish LANDR sessions free had a 30min limit to try it, that would be a decent time to get a feel fo it and sell it to my musicians. 15 min is reslly to short to get into it and will only frustrate them.
Oh joy! Another subscription-based program. I’m really fed up with this pricing model. I want to buy my programs and own them. Could really use this feature but I refuse to get yet another subscription. 😕
Hey Nathan, can you help me one answer further? Thx for the Landr-tip already.
But here is my question: I want to buy a paid plan on Landr Sessions. But I am left with one question before doing this: I am a songwriter and musician and I want to collaborate with a producer/coach - online remote.
If I take a paying account on LANDR sessions, does my producer also need a paying account? Or can he use a Free plan - as my invitee - and still continue to collaborate with me beyond the audio_HQ limit of 15 minutes? Thx, Rudy
would love to actually see this in use, cant seem to find videos/reviews that use it and show it being used real time.
also, I think you covered this in your video, but does everyone thats collaborating have to have the software? and is there a standalone (for top liners that dont ever use a daw or know how)
thanks for the video!
c
Hey! Just the person using the LANDR plugin needs it - others it's free
Can't get the plugin to work in Pro Tools 2021...says it's not a valid 64bit plugin...smh
Sessionwire is what i use.
Couldn't JACK api server solve the latency issue??
Sessionwire does this too.
muse sessions is better
That other guy in the video is pretty dashing if I do say so myself.
My man
I want to start collaborating with other artists. Does anyone have recommendations on where to meet people to do that?
Would be nice to be able to see the people in the damn session. Also why does it have to go through the browser its 2022
Does it work in stereo?? :)
What's the max bit and sample rate for Landr sessions video calls?
Meh, I don't see the need. I just use Parsec which was built around low latency screen sharing and gaming. I have been using it for collaborative songwriting for over a year without issues. They can take over my computer, use my mouse and keyboard, etc. As for the video side, that doesn't need to be low latency so Discord video call is just fine.
Hi, interesting. How is the audio though?
what is my dot for collaboration? 4:46
Why can't they solve the latency issue with a friggin quantum computer? The q bit supposed to be in two places at once lol.
SECOND
Yaaas!
Discord?
Yea Elon is sensing people to Jupiter but is that with no latency
Haha!!
great, but free Palestine 🇵🇸
Get yo political shit out of here
