Never played this. The first time I ever walked into a casino was to take my 80 year old friend. She gave me 80 bucks but said I had to bet it. I won 500 bucks that day. I took her every Saturday and Sunday for the next seven years. She was from Germany. She looked a lot like Mom, that’s why I love her so. Good luck and thank you for all the good times

First played this some 15 years ago in the Niagara Falls in Canada, then when we (US), got our own casino. It's the type of game to play conservatively, and much patience. And we're lucky we only got one table to play on. Plus, they have very strict rules on 'showing' cards.
PaiGow is so much fun I like that you play with your Mom. I like watching them with my mom after being diagnosed with early onset of dementia it has been something we can have fun watching and laugh so thank you

Ok for those that don't understand this game which is probably a lot of people paigow is a Chinese domino's game paigow poker is a card version. Your goal is to make two hands a 5 card and a 2 card you want both your hands to beat the banker it's called a banker not a dealer in paigow

Sucks on those Ace high pai gows! I always play that bet because it pays me enough / often, especially in those back to back hands. Recently hit an ace high for the dealer and quads in my own hand to pay me two ways! My second hand was Ah with Ah for an extra payday!

14:36 couldn't Mom have played Ace & King on the top and three of a kind (Jacks) on the bottom to beat the dealer? She should get the bonus regardless of how the hand is laid out.
This is what I wondered myself never played before so wasn’t sure but it seems that would have paid off more!!
I had the same thought (and a similar one on an earlier hand). Looks like in Pai Gow the joker isn't a true wild, it's basically an ace that can be used to complete straight/flush. But it can't be used to make trips or a full house (unless it can do that by being an ace).

I like PAI GOW it is a go to for table play that can be played for hours without losing the house and kids (joking, it would be wife). and this PIA GOW the dealer is even showing their hand; not all PIA GOW tables are played this way, mostPAI GOW tables I play the dealer does not show until after the players make a decision.
So close to a straight flush. Ace high bet denied and player and dealer both have Ace high, and cost a $1k, ouch.

There are many variations of poker; i.e. Pai Gow Poker, 3-Card Poker, 4-Card Poker, Texas Hold’em, etc.

Strange watching the dealer..most of she puts the cards down on the two spots by your mom. Then herself.. then the two by you then you and your mom but then she switches it up by her cards first then the whole table.. seeing a pattern .. watch the table and the dealing there is a pattern😂😂😂
