    Hello! Great video! Thanks for sharing your experience with the degree so far! I am considering taking the Bs as well. I am in doubt because the investment is considerable for me, and I want to know if this degree could help me get into the tech industry before investing so much money.
    I know you said you can still not tell a final verdict about the degree, but do you think it's worth it, considering everything you have learned so far? Do you think you are getting value considering the investment and effort? Do you feel confident enough to apply for jobs with the information you are taking from this degree in the future?
    Also, it would be awesome if you did a video on study techniques for learning online, taking notes from pre-recorded lectures, and keeping you motivated!
    Good vibes from Peru!

      Hey, well many of them actually. I have been doing group project and almost all of the group members are twice my age and have full-time jobs. And these are just people who I know. But most of them who don't have any time limitations on them just take the subjects according to their own convinience and that can be even 2, 3 or 4 subject's per semester. But the people I know are taking 4 subjects oer semester. But to answer your question, there are many people who work full-time and study as well.

      Okay so these programs are made by a specific University in your case LSE, and in my case Goldsmith's. In the videos or coursera, the specific department in that university have made the whole course again in my case Goldsmith's and yours LSE. So, you will be getting the degree from LSE, and just remember that University of London is a whole system under which many universities come in and have made these programs. And if it were the case where you'll be getting a degree from just UOL, you wouldn't have a choice to transfer to on-campus to that uni, since it is set up by that University so they are also the awarding body too. Not forgetting the fact that they are part of UOL.

      Well many people have been accepted for Masters program, I have given a few interviews for jobs but never they asked me once if my degree was online or not. I guess the point is to use your degree for higher education and that is possible with this degree since it is totally legit. However job opportunities will vary on your skills, simply depending on this degree may not result in a instant job in your hands. But yes the value of this degree is the same, but only thing that will be different is in transcript, mode of study will be online. You can change this by shifting on-campus in the last year and get the mode of study as “on-campus” but last I heard the yearly fee for international students was quite a lot.

    Do you think that is a great advantage?
    And here in my country there is a center provide thier program

    Given the fact that center professors ,thier English language is not that good which the can not delvier the information and knowledge in a good way.
    Thanks in advance

    • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  2 года назад +3

      Hey, thanks for reaching out!
      Well LSE is a great Uni though, I'll try to share my experience with you so that you can find it a little relatable and even though ut might not lead to an instant decision but may clear your head about a few things.
      So in my country, as I said I am from Pakistan, universities are good but the thing is that the entrance tests were soo stupid that I had to look elsewhere and my highschool was starting a new program, this distance learning degree from university of london. I researched about it alot and didn't really find alot of stuff about it. But then I just researched about the Uni thats was offering the course, in my case, Goldsmith's. And found out that their CS programs were good enough, atleast for on campus students so I assumed that the online experience is gonna be the same. And yes I am also with a local institute but tbh I don't even take their classes and just complete all of the stuff on my own, but I do once in a while contact my teachers for help but mostly it's just me and my laptop. But, I an happy with my decision really, although there are times Uni can be really irritating and frustrating like every other uni in the world but I am satisfied because it is soo much better than local uni's in my country and you are also getting a well recognized degree to some extent so for me, I believe I am made a good decision.
      For your local institute thingy, I guess it's just a plus to have physical teachers or atleast local teachers who 'might' be able to help you out.
      But some of my friends just went whole online and left the institute while I am still with my institute cuz I am able save some money with them cuz they do give scholarship.
      And for live classes, yes it's a great plus if the have it every week, our uni doesn't have that, they do have webinars once in a while which not many people attend but if LSE is giving live session every week, that's great!
      Overall online unis aren't as bad, yes I did talk about all the "socialization" problems but they are just a minor problem, and if you look at the bigger picture, you are gaining alot but sacrificing a few things.
      One last thing, if you don't have a reddit account already, make it, and search for the University of London sub-reddit and join that and the discord group they have on the page. You'll find soo many people with your issues or questions and you can even reach out to some LSE students if there are any, maybe there is a sub reddit for LSE too, do check it out.
      I hope this was helpful, the purpose of this whole talk is to clear your head so that you can make a right decision for yourself! Everyone has a different experience, so yeah do what's best for you!
      Good luck!!!!

    Hey Faizan. I have a few questions which I need an answer before applying to the program. Firstly whether the fees that is paid to partnered Teaching Centre is mandatory to pay or not ie around £7963 should be paid each year whether I want help from partner institution or not
    Secondly, do all the exams are supposed to be given at the partnered institution or some of them can be given online.
    Thirdly what is the approximate cost of giving an exam at a partnered institution for a Band A student?

    • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  2 года назад +1

      Hey, thanks for reaching out!
      Okay, so, for me atleast, my institute is charging me the fees even if I don't want their help at all. But for me atleast the cost isn't £7963 pounds per year, its relatively less. Also it's a choice if you want to be with a partnered institute or not, you can have it all online too if you don't need any extra help.
      About exams, last year and this year due to covid, they made all the exams online which doesn't require any additional fee. And since I joined during covid, all of my exams were online.
      And I am really sorry I don't have any idea idea about the exam fees they charge, since I never gave a physical exam and because they don't really quote the fee for that on the portal though unless students are actually registering for papers and in my case we were automatically registered.
      I hope this was helpful!

    hi, i have been accepted into the university and i am ready to enroll but i am a little bit sceptical because of the reviews i keep finding online. a lot of people complaining, that they is little to no support from the tutors or lecturers and that you do most of the work on your own. in some instances it takes up to a month to get support from the university.
    before i enrol i wanted to get some assurance from current students if the degree is really worth it. comparing to other online computer science degrees like from university of the people or iu of applied sciences which are way cheap but not recognised universities.

    • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  2 года назад +4

      Hey, congratulations on getting accepted! Well, I am with a partnered institute and tbh I have little to no support from them as well and I don't really complain because I don't take their classes but all I do is study myself by using the online material provided to us on Coursera. This degree totally depends on how you really take it, some people are really fortunate enough to find 'better' alternatives in their country and some find this as a much better option. This really depends, every degree has it's flaws, even you might find a duck in a flock complaining about Harvard. Tbh I found it good enough, yes management is a little problematic some times because of repeated requests from same students and that piles up to multiple requests and leads to delays. There might be some subjects that you'll definitely find not useful at all but I see this degree, or any degree in Computer Science field as a direction to a path and that's it, it's not gonna promise you a job or anything but it totally depends on how much work are you willing to put in. Maybe, try it yourself since you are already in now and maybe give it a shot. Just do what's best for you, either doing this degree or some other. Just do what's best in your interest.
      I wish you best of luck!

      Well I haven't tried yet. I am still busy with my Uni stuff and extra certifications. But as soon as I am done I'll surely try applying.

      @@calculusstudent5702 I recently got really intrested in UX design since I was already into web designing and stuff and was doing it in the uni as well so I really liked the Google course for it. I believe Google courses are bang for the buck, soo if you want to see some you can look into those and they surely will give you a good direction.

      @@FaizanJavair I am confused that if we take online degree then we miss our frndz and social circle....what about that?

      @@_laibaakhan_7634 Well that's one of the downside of having your degree online, smaller social circle and not that much interaction. But it gets easier with time, you don't always will have friends around when you enter your professional life. But for introverts it wont be a problem but others might get irritated with the mode of study because of lack of socialization. Just do what you feel like doing.
