    To be honest, it is common for universities to just give the final grades without details to students in the end. You might appeal for better grades if you think you deserve a better grade and that might be the only time you could see the details.

    • @FaizanJavair

      Heyy, soo I have learned the basics of web development which includes the usual html, css and js. In introduction to programming 1 & 2 we used a different Libray of JavaScript called p5 js you can go ahead an look it up. A little introduction to python in software design and development, while we also did c++ in OOP. C++ was nice, they used a different method to teach it but in the end the last project really required us to self study and researching to learn new methods of c++ I wish they would give us a little more direction in that but well it was fine subject itself was great. With graphics Programming we are looking into different library of js for our physics engine called matter js and used it with p5 js to make some small games and graphics. And finally the programming with data has alot of python and using jupyter notebook.
      Overall I would say that they starting off with p5 js was a good idea to get us into basics fast. I wish software design and development had more coding side but it didn't. I already talked about web dev, although I learned alot but didn't got good grades cuz of vague requirements. OOP is nice, tutor videos are great, making some projects was really great but I wish they could have taken a traditional method of teaching oop which included basics first and then the hard stuff such as making a project or DJ app using c++. The other subjects I am doing them right now but they are good.
      But talkinh about the level 6 subjects, I'd suggest go on to the description and open up the world class github repl and check the syllabus for each of the subject. But it really depends on which specialism and subject you take but as I said, check the syllabus for those and you'd get a better idea that way.
      I hope this was helpful!

    How do we get Letter of Recommendation (LoR) If we can't interact with the professor, Letter of Recommendation or Letter of Reference is important for applying in future grad programmes in universities like UBC and UoT. Just want to know if we can get LoR from this online degree. Thank you Faizan.

    • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  2 года назад +3

      You have monthly webinars and you can get in touch with the assigned tutors if you are just fully online. But answering your question, there were some people who were applying for Master's and the University wanted a Letter of Recommendation, upon emailing University of London, they did say that they'll provide the students who asked for it. I guess it won't be an issue as far as I have seen. I personally haven't asked for a LoR so can't say for sure, but yes there are people who were assisted on this matter.

      Hey, soo yeah you are right, you'll be taking 2 subjects from level 4 and 1 from level 5. • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  2 года назад +1

      They don't really tell you to study. See, no one gonna be on you all the time telling you that you have to complete this certain task. Which means you have to manage your time yourself, as I showed in the video the coursera portal had every week divided soo as each week goes by you have to complete that task which also means that you will be able to access any material from the previous week as well and you can even complete the upcoming week work as well. Now I would suggest giving atleast 2 hours per day every week. Maybe check out my "How to study online" video on yhe channel, I talked about how to divide your time an effectively make a system to study online.

      Hey Ahmed! So if you are in Pakistan then IGCSE subjects are mostly just general subjects you take but for A levels I took Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (I didn’t took Computer Science) the pre-engineering subjects are usually enough to open all the doors to CS and to Engineering. Hence I only took these three in A levels. But I guess if you specifically want to go in CS then maybe having the Computer Science subject instead of Chemistry must be fine too. But make sure you know what field you wanna go into and choose the subjects you like. I hope this was helpful!

      You have to complete all level 4 and level 5 modules, plus 5 subjects from level 6 + 1 elective and the final project in order to graduate. The level 4 and 5 each have 8 subjects. Just remember to pick discrete mathematics and introduction to programming 1 together since they are important one's to pass. DM is usually offered only in September soo yeah pick that. @FaizanJavair  Год назад +2

      @@sammo3207 hey, soo if you fail a module then you'll need to reappear in the next semester by attempting the part you failed. Now, discrete maths and computational maths are the only two math subjects and fundamentals of cs is like half math. But yeah you need to pass the modules. I have heard good things about open university too maybe yeah look into it too if that suits you. But you have to complete all the subjects in level 4 and level 5. And the reason I recommended taking itp1 and dm together is that they have this thing where some subjects in a certain level are important to pass and discrete maths and ipt1 are one of them. And no there's no monthly fees for coursera. You just pay UOL and that's it.

    Hi! I hope you'll answer me too))
    Firstly, it is written now (if I'm not mistaken), that you can save up to 40% of study-time if you pass exams proving your knowledge so that you won't need to take some modules - is it true? Are there any ways to reduce my time to get the degree, If I have already been studying maths in other university for almost three years - just haven't finished it due to the war(
    Secondly, how real is it in your opinion to work while studying there (if i want to study 3 years or even less if possible) taking into account some of my experience in maths and some small experience in coding as well?
    And thirdly, some people asked, but I didn't cope with finding your answer - am I able to apply to common physical masters degree after this one?
    Thank you in advance:)

    • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  Год назад

      Hey, apologies for a late a reply. Well 40% maybe bit of a stretch tbh. Most of the prior learning that this university considers was from the small certifications. So for example if you have done a Google’s IT certification on coursera then you can get credits for the ‘How Computers Work’ module. And similarly you can do the same thing for 2 to 3 more subjects which although does save you some money as well as time. But it doesn’t exactly translate to 40% of study-time.
      Well for the second question, there are soo many people doing this degree while also working full-time but they do struggle with managing both the job and education at the same time. Soo mostly they end up taking 3 to 2 subjects per semester to put less burden on them. But if you are good in Discrete Mathematics and some high school mathematics then yes you might easily glide over the topics they teach. But keep in mind that these mathematical subjects are time consuming. However for coding in the start, well it’s not that hard for the first year at least. The difficult bumps up a little in the second year with Object Oriented Programming and some other subjects but if you have an experience in coding then you won’t have issue working with C++ and with some other frameworks. But I would highly recommend going to the World Class REPL for UOL CS (I guess I have the link in the description) and check the subjects they are teaching along with syllabus soo you can see what they are teaching and how difficult they might be.
      Also yes, you can get into a physical masters degree after this one, many people have gotten into a physical university and got good offers as well even though people have many problems with the administration of this university but in the end they did got a offer. I also have some of my friends doing LLB online from UOL and they too got a good offer from some universities in the UK. So I don’t think you will have issues getting into a masters degree after this.
      I hope this was helpful and also apologies again for a late reply.

    Hi, I am interesting of this UOL and i want to ask you some questions. 1. Is every subject covered with video tutorial? 2. How about support from tutors for example in Math or C++? 3. Can you share may be some videos (from youtube) or from your math course to understand what we should be prepared to? I finished school long time ago and I think, that I should update some entry level of math.

    • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  2 года назад +2

      Hey, I did share a Github REPL link in the description. You can check each subject and go to appropriate links to watch some extra support stuff gathered by students. You can also download the syllabus if you want. Every course video covers the topics from scratch. There were some that required some prior understanding but mostly they explained well in the videos. Even if the videos failed to explain it properly, I always had RUclips to help me out.

    • @FaizanJavair
      @FaizanJavair  Год назад +1

      Well it isn’t that flexible because you can only join after you have completed both L4 and L5, basically 2 years. And in the 3rd year you can join the on-campus education (this takes out the study mode from “Online” to physical in the transcript). However you roughly apply during the start of the year for this soo you have to keep in mind of the deadlines they provide for it. There are some people have shifted to on-campus and had a good experience overall but again it can be expensive for international students.
