This is a PRUNING SAW it is meant for cutting green wood, Wood that is still on the tree. You are test cutting on a dry piece of lumber it will cut very slowly in dry wood (kiln dried) . Cuts much faster in green wood.

I did that with a chainsaw once! had no problem sharpening, the problem occurred when I started it...difficult to hold springs to mind!!!😫
@ipfreely9245 waste of time when he tried cutting the wood first it was the same when he sharpened it get a good saw in the first place it will last you years

Bladet är härdat när du köper det. Och behöver inte härdas om. Desutom duger inte den där gasolbgrännaren för att ge hela bladlängden en jämn härdvärme ( 700 plus grader). Jag har jobbat med verktygssmide över 40 år och blir bara generad av att se sådant här trams.

This saw is primarily intended for gardening fresh wood ... not for sawing slats ! Anyone who uses it for this purpose will never need to sharpening ! This "sharpening" is waste of time ...

The correct shape of file for the Japanese style tooth is called a feather file, still available from Japanese tool dealers. Always set teeth before filing. A tooth setter tool is also still available that gives an even set to each tooth.

There are the last tip side of theses top sawtooth that you forgot to file
For this particular saw the manufacturer made the cutting angle if you made a precision notice you will find this tip cutting angle
It’s a very small bite to file about 2 millimeter but it will help a lot while you cutting the wood

@@Alvawelding20 It isn't perspective, so to speak, when it's fact a file cuts forward and forward only. You'll never receive a "finished" result pulling a forward facing tooth along it's 45°-60° back end.

First off, that's a pruning saw for pruning trees. A little set to the teeth was a good idea. A thinner file would do a better job. Far too long for a simple concept video.😉
