    Great vid, thank you for posting! Audio levels were a little unbalanced, for what it's worth, but didn't bother me even with headphones so not a big deal. Just pointing out because it has been a problem with commercials and things before.
    I'm building up to a project right now that I'll use this technique for! Thanks again!

    I've just started to plan out my comics and my outline looks pretty much like yours except I've aligned all the 2-page spreads into one column, numbered it starting with page 1 at the top left and page 16 at the top right, so you can easily follow the pages in order going down then up in a "U" shape. Of course I had to mark each spread with a B or F so you knew which one is on the "front" or "back". It's like figuring out how to order the periodic table of elements.
    My point is, I'm feeling my way through all of this and it's validating when I see the pros have been doing the same thing so I know I'm on the right path.

    • @AmandaKahl

      That's awesome! Yeah, any way that makes sense to you and keeps the pages where they belong works. This was the method I learned 1 million years ago in art school 🤣

    I have noticed that MS Word has the booklet printing feature.
    But, I need to look into how the booklet printing feature works.
    Then, I may take my stuff to a local print shop for full-color prints.
    My public library provides printing service. For full-color prints, a page costs 50¢ per page.
    So, it's much more cost-effective for me to put 8 panels per page. 16 panels per double-page sheet of paper.
    But I probably want the title to appear bigger than the others, so I am going to give that a whole half-page and the back cover will also get a half-page. So, that means I only get 8 interior panels.
    Another sheet of paper added will allow me to have a total of 24 interior panels.

      I've never tried the MS Word booklet feature! I hope it works out well. Word always makes me frustrated when I try to insert images 🤣

    I'd say that you're double working yourself here on how you're printing the interior pages...
    if your printer can do what is called duplex printing (the option to print on both sides of the paper in one go) then simply lay out your pages in your template accordingly then simply let the printer do all that work for you!
    Of course I realize that not everybody has a duplex printer in which case the advise in the video here is good enough.
    Great video btw! and great artwork also!

    • @AmandaKahl
      @AmandaKahl  3 года назад

      Thank you! Yeah, I tried that a few times and my printer frequently either a.) jammed, b.) overheated and shut down or c.) completely garbled it up and made a mess of things! If your printer can do the duplex printing (successfully, lol) then that is absolutely the way to go! Whenever my current printer dies it will certainly be a consideration for its replacement.

    This is genius! Why didn’t I come across this video sooner? Hello. I’m but a novice-level comic creator. The Content Map technique sounds really promising to get the mini comics made really quick. Can you tell me the model of the printer you used for the cardstock paper cover?

    • @AmandaKahl
      @AmandaKahl  11 месяцев назад +1

      So glad you found this video helpful! I use my Brother HL-L23000 laser jet. You can't put the cardstock in the paper tray, you have to use the bypass feed on the front (one sheet at a time, which is a little painstaking, but it works.)

      Hey there! Just to clarify - which part do you mean non-digital? Most of my process is done traditionally, only the final layout and printing use the computer. I'd be happy to update with more info at some point but I want to make sure I understand what you're asking for :)
