Thanks guys, this was wonderful. I was 16 when John Lennon was taken from us, and I was so devastated, first time in my life that a death of anyone actually effected me in a big way. Loved him and his work, and I love Noel's work so much also, what an awesome mix this is. ✌❤
John is my favorite Beatle and always will be. His songwriting will be around for generations past ours because of his singular genius. Thanks so much for doing this one guys!
Classic song! Not sure I'd call this cover a Cumberland sausage, but it was good. Gosh, exploding food in the trenches too? Some of Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" subplots about the Dead Marshes and other battles are said to have been inspired by his WW1 experiences, I wonder if any horrible food in the story was as well?
Very much a classic. I notice there's an Australian 70's band missing from your reactions. If you haven't seen Radio Birdman, you haven't seen the best the Aussie's put forward. Radio Birdman's 1976/77 song Descent Into The Maelstrom (official) is one in need of a notching. You will not regret it, you have my word.
Second the motion. I reckon it would be really cool to do “You’re gonna miss me” off Radios Appear (sire version) by Birdman then back up with the original by 13th Floor Elevators.
Hello Thamesmen, like always , i enjoy ur podcast. Great Show and Entertaiment. Like u guys very much. So authentic and fun. Great Example how enjoy music and community. Go(o)d job. cu greetz from germany. Stay healthy and give us more reaction. cu
Oh how divine. Such a beautiful song and then for another beautiful songwriter who adores his work to cover this song. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous. Did not know this existed. And probably my equal fave John song (#9 Dream being the other). Such a beautiful review and thank you for the kindness towards Yoko. Exactly my thoughts. And it would be cool to review a couple of Yoko tracks too. I suspect she won't be with us for too much longer. Just a couple of suggestions: Why, Death of Samantha and Walking on Thin ice.
Fire and ice is a great description of Lennon and McCartney post-Beatles. Which would, of course, make George lukewarm water, and Ringo as a drummer would be uninsurable.
Yes! One of John Lennon's best and that's my favourite line too, I'm very much about living in the now and John was one of my life coaches. I don't agree that John was bitter, most things he said were hard truths and said with love and respect. Where as Paul could be a real meanie if he was having a bad day. Those Beatles tapes were a real eye opener, but there was a lot of love in the band. Not as much a banger as Lennon's cooking 😅, although okay.
Maybe I'm just a dyed-in-the-wool old fart, but IMO he sounds like he's singing from the bottom of a well 😛 Give me the original with those soaring keyboards any day. Thanks gents 😊
Great intro (and outro) to this Community Center - can I really smoke?! Wasn't "Yes" what Yoko had written on the ceiling of an exhibition which got John interested
Thank you for defending Yoko Ono. I agree with you completely. I've always suspected an element of racism where she is concerned. Lennon was absolutely a different man after being with her. Love this version too BTW and have always thought Noel was the better singer and certainly the real talent of Oasis.

What a beautiful song.
Classic Lennon solo track, it was by far the best song on that album. Enjoyed this cover..
Both of the Gallagher's individual works are elevator music at best!!
Light foot great story teller
