M235i and OG M2’s have the same forged rods as the S55 (same part numbers). All N55s have cast iron cranks except for the M235i (M135i) and M2 which have a forged crank. All N55s and N54s and S55s have hypereutectic pistons (i.e., not forged).
Can you do a B48 vs B58 video? For those on a N55 budget but want the B58 platform does it make sense to buy a b48 car with future plans of doing a b58 swap once you have the funds to buy/build a b58 engine, I believe the b48 cars have the same transmission & all parts are the same minus 2 cylinders… So in theory the swap should be straight forward however I haven’t seen it done before

Vtec - The only two variants of the N55s that came with forged cranks are the N55B30O0 and N55B30T0. So this would be an accurate statement!
