You're on track for the coolest sc430 build... can't wait to see this interior and the rest of the car finished. You've come a long way from that part 1 video when it first rolled off the car hauler
Thanks Tim that means a lot! There’s not enough sc430 content out there, I wish more people played around with them more. Yeah it is pretty crazy to see how far we’ve come from that part 1 video! Damaged fender, it wouldn’t even start, and that horrible belt squeak😂
That one cable that was in the center console is usually a cable for a backup camera. The hard part about the head unit wiring now is that without the factory wiring harness you have to determine what each wire was for and then wire them up for the new head unit. I recently put a 10.2 Android firmware head unit in my Wrangler and it is great. But I had a factory wiring harness so the wiring was really straight forward. Looking forward to seeing you fix that wiring and making it less of a rats nest!
Thanks so much for the comment man! This will sure be a fun task, there is nothing I enjoy more than wiring🙄😂 I’ll try to get this sorted out and I’d love to add a backup camera while I’m at it. Thanks for the tip on that cord!🤙🏼🤙🏼
@@timsimmons-wd1bm I assume you were asking me. No I have enjoyed it. It is a learning curve as you don’t really get instructions but it is like a tablet on my dash.
Sorry to hear about the issues with the stereo. None of that looks factory, so it's a puzzle to solve. You'll figure it out, I am sure. Having had two Lexus in a row (LS, GS) with piano black glossy interior bits, I have had enough of it for a lifetime. Attracts dust and fingerprints like mad. I am partial to wood, I think. I have a soft spot for older Jags with tons of wood (but I am not masochistic enough to actually buy one). That said, the steering wheel cover will look great once it stretches and settles in. Absolutely LOVE the red leather seats! That is a TON of work. Looking forward to part 2.
Yeahhh it seems like I might just have to start from scratch with this stereo wiring😖 Ahh I gotcha, yeah that is definitely a downside of the gloss black trim for sure! I don’t necessarily have anything against wood (I think it looks amazing in certain cars), but I knew the red seats wouldn’t have looked good with the wood trim and the black does just freshen up the interior. Thanks for stopping by and for your support man, hope you have a nice upcoming weekend!😄🤙🏼
@@Atlanticbeachcustoms Agree - the red and black will look fantastic together. I might have gone with a carbon fiber or brushed aluminum-look wrap for the dash. My LS 460 F-Sport had this cool brushed aluminum (with a tiny "L" pattern in it), which was my favorite styling feature on the car. This is going to be sweeeeet when it's done. Have a great weekend!
The leather dye came out really well! Recently I re-dyed my steering wheel (well touched up areas that had been "over cleaned") and it came out very well - using the included cleaner is almost a "must" at least just prior to applying the dye it "deglazes" and gets through the protective coating applied to almost EVERY leather surface in a car. If your dye seems to come off when you apply the protectant that could be the reason why. Great video series and lots of hard work is paying off!
Thank you!! That’s awesome to hear your steering wheel turned out good, you’re absolutely right the prep work makes all the difference! I made sure to thoroughly vacuum and clean every piece I dyed so that the dye could adhere properly. I’ll keep that in mind when I test out the seats in my next video! Good question, the L on the steering wheel is silver, but the face of the silver is fading which makes it appear to be gold. I’m thinking I’ll wrap it chrome or maybe grey to color match with the wrap? With how many coats of red I did any scratches or scuffs should appear red.
