Crabcore ended when all band members decided to look like clean cut baristas djenting in a colored room.
Metal bands nowadays is still this, just in monochrome room now
NO ONE talks about Confide, thanks for touching on them!
😊🤘🏻🔥
i was just about to say lmao
I have heard of every band in this video except them, kinda wild
Absolutely love that band. So glad they’re talked about in this
The amount that I still listen to Confide is probably concerning. Idk something about their music still holds up for me.
Recover was my top listened to album last year lol.
Great band ! I should do a video about them 🤘🏻
I love to say that they are the more "modern" underoath
Here to say confide is still amazing.
@@xtheyanyes you should
Love having my morning coffee and watching a new video of yours! Cheers.
That's awesome ! I love having my morning coffee as I'm making videos ☕😊
Aw snap also the shoutout to We Butter the Bread With Butter!! They were one of my faves cause they were so absolutely insane
I have 2 "neon monster merch" shirts and I love them both: ADTR - Three Little Pigs Revenge and A Plea For Purging - Purging Care Bear.
Even bands like Parkway Drive, August Burns Red and Stick To Your Guns had neon monster merch. That was just the look in 2010 era
I was just talking to my girl the other day about Rockett clothing. 😊
I was 26 when i first heard stand up and scream. It changed my entire perspective of what heavy was and to this day is still my favorite album.
I really appreciate your editing, I love it when music content creators go the extra mile and place music samples after what they're actually talking about. I know it's a lot of extra effort but we all appreciate it!
I love I See Stars so much🔥
Filth Friends Unite went H A R D live
Theyve shit the bed since they kicked out Zach & Jimmy for more money
MySpace neon pop merch was the best! I have a few TDWP shirts in that style I still wear to this day! 💅🏻
The story of how the risecore scene started with joey sturgis and TDWP is great. Thats what led to a band like attack attack to blow up
We called each other "scene kids" during this emo-core Renaissance
Great video, thanks for touching on WBTBWB. I keep as suggestion a video about The Browning.
One thing I noticed listening to old metalcore and deathcore from that era is that many bands didn't took themselves too seriously. Many songs were hilariously titled like I only see it in the grindcore genre nowadays. But not only. There were also bands that had very misogynistic lyrics, song titles, album covers. Especially in deathcore and death metal from that era. I mean that's just the way it seemed to be back then. Either angsty teenage boys writing angry music about their ex girlfriend, OR quite hilarious joke songs about trivial topics. It seems like there wasn't so much in between. Different times I guess. Nowadays you couldn't write some of the lyrics they had back then and get away with it lol you would get cancelled for some of the songs they released back then.
Attack Attack would of been way better without the autotune, and hell the old Asking Alexandria is so good!
I See Stars, and We Came As Romans are both from Michigan, I also am from Michigan and I was in a band during my highschool years. The local scene around here was HUGE and heavily influenced by those bands. Local shows almost every weekend. It was a good time.
damn, this is a nostalgia blast. We use to blast The Final Episode out the car in HS
joey sturgis made the sound with aa he refined it with asking
It all started with dear love, what a beautiful discord
@@Shredxcam22 This is correct. It started with The Devil Wears Prada.
Love the quick retrospective format. Clicked on this real fast
Im injecting the nostalgia into my eyeballs right now
👀🤘🏻🔥
Such an iconic era!! So nostalgic to see it all in one place 😂 and that Abandon All Ships song slaps so hard, it is pure happiness to me. The merch was on such another level too
10:05 Security guy in the back is feeling the song lol I don't blame him. TDWP - Still Fly was such a good cover!
So happy to have found this channel, as someone who grew up listening to deathcore/metalcore im binge watching you're videos now hehe, just come from the 'A job for a cowboy' video 🤟🏻
I had a HORSE The Band neon shirt lol. Such a fun time for alt rock and metal!
In my mind, Immortal's vocal Abbath invented the crab walk. check out their Blashyrk video!
Fun fact, I saw Kyler from Abandon All Ships at the grocery store the other day. We went to the same high school and he played in a different local band (that I love to this day) before joining AAS.
Confides first albulm “Shout The Truth” sounded more like underOATH when they came on the scene. But then years later, started to add more metalcore elements with their next album in 2010.
Confide was soooo good. They actually started as more of a deathcore band. Check out ‘Confide-Introduction’. They used to play a very unique, and slow breakdown
When some people were dressing "emo" in school I still listened to softer bands. This crabcore subgenre kind of had its heyday before I truly delved into metal and started listening to heavier bands than Linkin Park and Rise Against. So this video was super informative and interesting for me. I never really listened to bands like Attack Attack
This was such an enjoyable MySpace throwback
I think Easy Core became the next big thing after that era
They were kind of riding the wave together. Easy core probably started with Four Years Strong 2007 album and ADTR made it blow up a little later. I think crabcore died in 2012ish and there were about 2 years of nothing groundbreaking or new. Then pop-punk started getting popular again with bands like The Story So Far, and State Champs.
I grew up in Ocala FL during these years. Used to watch ADTR at the old center in downtown. What fun times we had!
Still listen to Stand Up and Scream by A.A.
Idk if mention but I’d love to see a For all Those Sleeping video. Always listened to death metal/ deathcore so kind slept on them when they were still together
This will always be the peak of scene music to me, all downhill after
Once Facebook killed MySpace, the internet was never the same. Even RUclips took a crap around around the early 2010's. Music and life during the MySpace era was the best.
A band that is bringing this back is "Hall of the elders" give it a check out you will love it.. Good video!
What I would love to see is a video of Woe is me/ issues and Confide!
9:55 yeah that's a cool video idea!
awesome job on the video man nice job dude
Iwresteledabearonce is defiantly another underrated band from this era I'd say, I love them to pieces.
We'd like a video about the brands :)
definitely would like a video about the old scene clothing brands too
awesome ! 🤘🏻😊
Was looking for this comment before typing the same thing! Plus one for doing a brand video! Thanks
Great vid! Would like to see a video on the clothing brands of that era and what they sell today please 😃
Moving like a crab just like metallicas current bass
Keep up the awesome work!!!
Nice timing on the video, I remember I had friends into Black Metal really taking the piss out of crabcore bands and their fans. I had to research if that was indeed a thing. Great vid!
Ah yes, WBTBWB.
Would love to see a video on how the two men began their careers, then Tobi leaving, and turning into a full band, then Tobi coming back.
Punk goes pop needs to make a comeback
Crabcore is glam metal for scene kids
Lol I have that white chapel shirt and Iwrestledabearonce had some crazy designs too I also think the Irish front had a pretty wild neon shirt
The Irish Front... that band was... something
Shoutout to the fathers of this sound Nevea Tears. If you don't know them, check out the Song "Helium Queen" - way ahead of its time (2004)!
Joey Sturgis-core ❤
Man I was so into this scene when it happened. A lot of it hasn’t aged that well imo, ESPECIALLY the pop goes punk stuff. But there’s some gems scattered throughout this era.
That song by We Butter The Bread With Butter was pretty good! What’s it called?
2000's kids "Call us Coffee because we grind so fine."
Great video! I never really knew where it came from, and I missed a lot of it because I got into stupid heavy music, and passed a lot of this stuff by.
Member when I kissed a girl dropped and it had the stick sticky music video?
I like to call this the Joey Sturgis era
I had so many of these shirts and still have a bunch of them! Love it best merch ever! Lol I just miss the scene days honestly!
What about the bands For all those sleeping and Broadway.
THE BEST ERA!! Still have my Chiodos colorful monster shirt.
It's crazy how there's people out there that didn't live through this era and follow the scene and don't understand it
Literally a "you just had to be there" moment
When I was a youth group kid, Confide had a strangle hold on me, a video would be insane from them, I’m like pretty sure their original drummer went on to play for Avenged Sevenfold
I See Stars were always my favorite 🤟
Love that band !
Can we talk about isetmyfriendsonfire?
this video is sick! if you're interested in checking out newer bands who are trying to bring all of this back, check out Aurora Falls, Hall of the elders and Broadway Showdown
I think Enter Shikari should also go on your list and I would argue they came before Attack Attack.
There's a TON of new bands still doing this stuff and putting out monster merch. Check out bands like Aurora Falls, Dead I'll Be, Broadway Showdown, Divinity Falls, and Hall of the Elders
I’m 35. Around 2008 I was really into BMTH and the whole style. I went to the salon and had my hair cut like Oli. I thought i was a total badass 😂
tbf johnny franck has a natural good voice. Bilmuri is him
Legit was looking for your channel for hours and then boom u drop 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
LETS GOOO 🦀 🤘
😤🤘🏻🦀🔥
@@xtheyan dude my favorite video from yours so far asking alexandria and attack attack crab core era is my favorite style of metalcore, so confide and abandon all ships are right up my alley, great video 🔥
@@exoticwaves1580 thanks !! I wanna do videos in the future about Confide , I see Stars etc
@@xtheyan that sounds awesome! Do you know of any modern crabcore style bands? There needs to be a crabcore revival 😂 Alongside the MySpace deathcore revival like psycho frame and tracheotomy !!!!
YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU NEVER SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAID THAT THIS WOULD BE EAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY SO GO ON LIVE
🎶🎙🎸
attack attack was crab coring in there videos since dr shigarvo part 3!
"FORMER EMO KIDS"🤘🏻😼🤘🏻
👇🏻🕯️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🕯️
I wonder if you can do ingested(the band) MySpace era. You don’t have to do it right away but I’m just wondering if you could do a video about the band.
I skipped this genre and went to bury your dead, ion dissonance, despised icon, the black dahlia murder and bands in that area. I gave them a listen but was always and is still always looking for heavy. I can tell we grew up in the same way with metal with the content you show. Im 35 now and its definitely not a fad 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I’d LOVE a video regarding the entire “punk goes pop” era, where everyone was doing covers! Such a fascinating crossover.
Also, yes id like a video about the clothing brands.
I definitely used to rock stheart and agape atire lol
hey dude! it would be awesome as hell if you did a Dr Acula video
Keep em coming my guy
Crabcore 4 Life
🦀🦀🦀
Would love to see a video on the evolution of Drop Dead!
Attack attack didnt become electronic/hardcore(crabcore) until they saw I see stars at a local ohio show( they were touring the midwest in 07-08 before attack attack) johnny took pics on a flip phone of Devins AVP-1, the rack mount that allows live auto-tune, johnny got one hinself, they picked up caleb on synth becaus they use to just be metalcore, they 100% ripped off ISS sound of breakdowns followed by autotuned dance parts. Thats a fact. They saw the growing popular trend & capitilized, releasing their debut before ISS but ISS had written all of thise songs 06-08 when AA was still primarily metalcore.
Hey we got the same chair in our man cave!
Attack will always be great! I'm from Oklahoma and therefore a metal cowboy so i am stoked that HARDY did a song with Beartooth several months back. it was totally unexpected when they dropped that track but it made sense to me! 🤓🤘
also, yep! former emo and hardcore kid here! got into hardcore in 97, got into emo in 99, and thus got in to post-hardcore. then The Used and Finch came out and I was fucking sold. it just kept going from there.
Oh! MY! GOD!
How didn't you know what a crab looks like
coffee + smoke? nothx im a myspace kid, i drink monster and vape
I had an Attack Attack! Shirt that I often wore to band practice. It was white and had a giant blue squid on it 💕 such an iconic shirt. Always wanted the TDWP Reptar shirt
Edit: This music holds up really well. It's dated aesthetically speaking, but the records still sound perfect. I See Stars albums still sound good compared to current production
What was the song at 3:01? I know I've heard it but I can't place it
What this means to me i see stars
@@RustyRoot444 thank you so much!
@@lightningmonky7674 np if ur interested with electronicore listen my friends song name of the project is “lastnewchapter”
Would love to see video about brands
🦀🦀🦀
🦀🦀🦀
Would you mind doing a video on Asking Alexandria and/or The Word Alive? Thank you ❤
I want a video about the brands.
Personally I always thought the pop song covers by metalcore bands were the worst thing ever. Metalheads didn't want them, and the original pop fans thought they were too heavy in the first place
Someday Came Suddenly is genuinely one of the most forward-thinking and revolutionary metal albums of the last 20 years. It was fresh, new, and everyone wanted to sound like them. I used to absolutely hate the album and the band, but the more people I showed, the more I started to enjoy it. It's fucking awesome!
I'm stuck in
For all those sleeping
Confide
Alesana
Asking Alexandria
I see star
Chunk no captain chunk
Etc
The photos of TDWP without Mike in always confuse me, was he not in the band for a short period of time or something? 🤔
He wasn't feeling well or busy with other things in those pictures.
my ex went to high school in the Detroit area with a couple guys from I See Stars, they were in an old band called "This Emergency" and they were a straight up death metal band lol I prefer them to I See Stars.
WCAR first album was dope AF too💯
miss these days!
Same ! 😊
