- Unlike some that call themselves experts on the Nevada Test Site, and Area 51. I choose not to just go by what Google, and Wikipedia writes. I'm sure you all know that those sites are sometimes, and a lot of times are wrong with the facts. I find the best facts are from the people that work, and retired from these sites. To which I have had the pleasure of talking to many of them. Just like my video on Area 2 where I had 3 people who did not know that I talked to others that were stationed there, but all had the same stories about the base. I was contacted by a high up in the Air Force (now retired) about this base. He was stationed at the Las Vegas Air Force Station for just over 20 years. I talked with him at a coffee shop, and he showed me pictures when this base was a small City. This was a fun video to film because Sean, and I did it together. Which we will have a couple doozies coming up for you that were doing together.
What I'm trying to say about these self proclaimed expert's on the NTTR, and Area 51. Unless your working there, and have a high security clearance. Chances are that the people or a certain person is not a expert in this field, and that includes myself. I've even had people tell me on FB that they know this, and that because they wrote a book, but they have never stepped a foot in Nevada. What does set me apart from others is that I live here, and work just north of the base. I have many close friends that work at the NTR, and yes Area 51. After time they do open up about details on what they, and the bases are doing. I have done plenty of reading on the bases, but find it all to be speculation not fact. The people I know that have 0 intrest in watching RUclips videos about where they work actually openly laugh when they see some of these videos.

Hi Dennis, my Dad, and I were very close as well. I think of him daily, and I'm very lucky to have Sean. He is nothing liked the typical teenager these days. When his team has a party win they win Sean always says for me to go in, and hangout with him, and his team which I've done a couple times. We go to Dodger games all the time, and even concerts.

Fantastic video clarity Christian (and son). Even with frost bite the drone worked well enough. The wind chill under it must be really cold. I have had interest in A51 for almost as many years as it's title (50 odd years) ...I never realised it got so darn cold up there even in late April. Thanks guys from the UK, cool (pun intended) video.
We had to actually heat the batteries with a battery powered heater I have. The drone wouldn't take off until the batteries were warm to the touch. It's why the camera kept falling straight down a few times. Where I work north of area 51 it gets -30 all the time. Thank you for watching!!!

I was stationed in the mountains east of San Diego, at Mount Laguna AFS, 751st RADS, between 1974-1977 working on a Height Finder Radar. The Air Force had already left the Las Vegas site by that time so I never heard mention of it. The 751st RADS shut down about 1981 as did the other Air Force radar sites up the coast of California and Oregon. Today there is only an FAA run Search Radar on Mount Laguna, all the operations area, barracks, and support buildings have been removed. I think the radar your seeing here is primarily a back up for Air Traffic Control, as is the one on Mount Laguna. Today they rely more on Tacan Responder systems to control air traffic.
I would have to agree with you about the FAA use of this facility. I installed a point to point microwave dish inside this dome (just out of the radar dishes reach which lives inside the dome) which pointed back to lower Apex for the FAA back in 2008.

I love to see father-son adventures, growing up I didn't realize at the time, how much they meant to me, it's easy to take things for granted, and just assume it's just another trip! Looking back on those memories from my childhood, they meant the world to me and ended up being some of the best memories, just doing stuff like this w/ my father. It sucks that it took me 20 yrs to see it, and by that point, it was too late! It's great to see Christian, thanks for sharing, and never take time shared for granted!

Cool drone footage. That place reminds me of Goldstone our in California. We went by there when I was in dessert training for 30 days. Interesting place for that camp up there also.

Hi Christian. As someone who lives on the eastern seaboard I can’t knock on you for the snow. It snows here in the winter, and it can be deep. I’m sad the military is going to annex all that land but not really surprised. That’s a good place to put a juvenile hall. Away from the city. Remote location. Good video. Keep up the good work!!

Tell your son that during the winter here in NY in Oswego County there are places where we can see over 10+ feet of snow. That is nothing to us what you see out there. Love the videos can't wait to see more! Love seeing the beautiful desert scenery out there.
Wow a fantastic video, I grew up in Naselle Wa. There was a youth camp there too. I love all the info you give, it is like I am there with you, very fun. A number of years ago Mt. Baker up north had 90 ft of snow, was so deep they shut the ski lifts down. Take care and tell Shawn hi for me.

I know what you're saying - Wipedia is not the be all & and all of information - it's just a bit of a kick start to get folk curious to then hopefully do some genuine research of their own! The other thing I'd be worried about with YT and other social media interfaces, is how poachable is your material; can others use your material and mix it in with their own? Anyway, super drone footage, be a shame if the Military closes off so much of that land, be nice if people could have access to it sometimes, at least you were able to get up there and save some lovely footage for posterity. hobby drones do not have a transponder to talk to air traffic controller systems .

I remember as a kid reading about those radar domes and how they were pieced together, the specifics are lost in my memories, but then Buckminster Fuller came out with his designs and I think that is how they have been making them since, although I could be wrong.
But the picks I have seen all seem to be the later design and I might go and look to see if I can dig up some info about them, I just remember them saying how complicated those old domes were, but then most airlines were still prop planes, buildings from that era were nothing at all like they make now, same with bridges.

Is this video old or is there really still snow up on mt Charleston? It’s been in the 90s this week so I thought all the snow melted.
Still snow up there. Anyone can see it from anywhere in Vegas. We've also only had 2 days in the 90's yesterday, and today. This was filmed about 3 weeks ago. If it was old Sean would be 5'8" or close, and now he's 6'3". Thank you

It's the Phantom 3 professional. I also have Phantom 4K which takes such clean video, but can't go that far with it, but it's perfect for people wanting good video, and it's very inexpensive.

It would be awesome if you could share the stuff your friends told you about what goes on in the base. Imo I think the majority of it is just built up on hype and the government love it because it keeps prying eyes away from other secret bases. Of course they tested a lot of secret crafts back In the day... Don't know how to explain.
The fact the gates arent really that secure is a false positive...if gates look less guarded than say Edwards AFB...then people tend to assume well...no security gates to stop you,it cant be that active...when Area51 IS very much active...more so today than ever...with the threat of terrorists,and N Korea and now Russia again.
Yes, there are secret bases, but nothing like area 51.
