Extraterrestrial Hwy and Area 51

  • You’ve probably heard about the Extraterrestrial Hwy or Nevada’s state route 375 because it’s the closest road to the mysterious Area 51. This video tour will take you along the entire route of Hwy 375 and take a stab at explaining what Area 51 is all about.
    A lot of people, mainly conspiracy theorists and mystery seekers, talk about the things that go on around this road but none of them show what the area looks like or explain the facts about some of the places near it. We’re going to fix that with this video tour. There’s also rarely a mention of how scenic and beautiful this highway really is, which you'll see.
    You'll find this video not just educational, but also entertaining. Throughout the video, look for "Easter eggs" of secret aircraft and UFOs. Enjoy!

    Outstanding video. Excellent graphics and use of maps, video, photos, etc. As a retired USAF guy I always enjoy learning more about the history of our military and it's great projects over the years. Well done! Thanks to all the people that worked at these facilities over the years helping to safeguard the USA and our freedom!

    I've heard about that airline service between Las Vegas and Area 51. I wonder if they make that trip every day, or do they stay on location for a period of time, such as a week? Sounds like it might be an interesting job! In January, they mail you a W-2 from "US Dept of Agriculture" at a rural Kentucky PO box! The government is always humorous when they don't intend to be. LMAO! I would like to take a winter photo excursion tour of the Nevada Northern RR out of Ely in the future. At that point, I will have some time to take this drive. Another great video.

    • @BackRoadsWest1
      @BackRoadsWest1  3 года назад +2

      Well, it's not an airline. 20-30 years ago, it was a contract airline. But I think that is no longer the case. The jets carry daily commuters, so no, they don't stay for a week. But I'm sure some people do. Ely in the winder is cold yet beautiful. Lots of steam from the puffer. Oct is when they have their big Halloween extravaganza - check their website.

      Looks like a late model 4Runner, I'm guessing based on the hood scoop. You'd want a 4wd drive vehicle with good clearance and a decent-sized fuel tank 16-18 gallon...just like these guys. There's so much to see off the beaten path and you need the range and offroad capability to do so.

    We were driving along this highway from the Tonapah area (near where the missile is), the driver had the cruise control set at something ridiculous, I seem to remember it was just under 100 mph. Suddenly an F15 went directly over the top of us in full burner and then pulled up spiraling into the sky. It felt like the van was going to be blown off the road. The driver clocked the aircraft in his rearview it was that low but didn't say anything to us until after it went by. ;-)

    • @BackRoadsWest1
      @BackRoadsWest1  3 года назад +2

      Isn't that a great experience!? We had that happen to a few times. Once, 2 F-15s buzzed I-15 at Mountain Pass. The 2 went straight down the freeway, then banked hard right. It was so cool. I wonder how many people noticed it. We've also had a few F-18s buzz us near the Panamint Mtns near Death Valley, most likely returning from Star Wars Canyon.

      Ahh, thanks for the comment. Glad to hear someone put it back (or maybe it was always there). When we went by, we didn't see anything at either road intersection. But maybe we missed it. Or someone stole it and put it back up by the time you went by.

    Edwards AFB also has the designation of Area 52

      Didn't know that. Of course, area #s from Edwards do not coincide with the Nevada Test Range. Thanks for commenting.

    Where is the area where you see signs that says the ( use of deadly force is authorized ) and men in white trucks comes steaming towards you where is .
    Maybe a good idea to have a conclusion of this road trip to that Hill I am talking about where this rood overlooks Area 51 .

      At the Area 51 borders that are a significant distance from ET Hwy. There was a mock gate shown in the video.

    you can get right to the Area 51 gate just off I95 on Mercury Road.

      If you're an employee you you can. The Mercury Rd entrance is mainly for the nuclear test sites. People working at Area 51 access the site from ET Hwy.

    What are the green circles on google earth

      If you've traveled across the USA in an airplane and looked out the window, you'd see them all over. They are usually alfalfa farms that are watered using a system where the field needs to be a circle.

    I live these Area 51 epmore videos ... something about watching a traveler going down a forbidden road & findling proven grounds by our military. So fascinating.....the thrill of possibly getting caught......

    Silly question. Do people shoot around here? Seems like a deserted place to shoot. Obviously, not at the Area 51 gates.

      Don't know. You'd have to check with local county regulations. The road passes thru both Lincoln and Nye Counties.

      I don't think so, but I'd verify with the BLM office in Caliente or Vegas.

      Please, after all the factual information given, your one criticism is how many people pronounce the World's biggest yucca? Are you aware that the USA has various accents that drive how different words are pronounced? Did I pronounce extraterrestrial or UFO correctly?
