All these cute little cutouts of yarn in the colors she's using and the super cute Osi that pops up and just all the little details that just add to her videos. I love it! The Ranunculus turned out beautiful!!! I can't wait to see the finished vest too!!! You are so inspiring and fun to watch.

    Thank you so much for posting this video! It was one of many that I watched when I was preparing to make my own Ranunculus. I'm a very beginner knitter as in the only things I have ever knit before were scarves, and your video helped give me confidence that I could do it. I went with the short sleeve option, BO as I split for the body, then I did 9 rounds of 1x1 ribbing before using that same bind off for the bottom hem. As much as I despise the German Short Rows, I really love the effect that it has on the garment.

    You might want to think about the front short rows. I have heard they are designed to make the textured stitches in the yoke resemble a necklace

    • @akaNoraKnits
      @akaNoraKnits  Год назад +1

      Yes, and they do…but I think that in doing so, especially since my gauge was off, they raised the neckline a bit and I believe it would be more straight across if I hadn’t. I know plenty of people have omitted them, I’d have to look into projects on ravelry !

    Great job a funished Ran #2! Spiffy and all that drape. So cool about your Cardi! Maybe smaller size needles instead of decreaces or ommitting a weave to two halves meeting to complete one basket. The vest is a cute pattern and coloring as a Autumn Thanksgiving 🦃 might add more increases all the way thruough the back or use bigger needles in back and the smaller in front. Good Luck and Thank you!

    I just love, LOVE the colour of your Ranunculus!!!❤. I think it looks perfect on you… I also followed the Ranunculus pattern to a tee, and I had a problem with the neckline as well. I find the pattern did not provide for a larger neckline, unlike the example pictures. I actually wanted a boat neckline as opposed to a crew.

    Hi Nora - your Ranunculus is beautiful! I knit one too and love it. However my front neck rides up a bit too…I know the front short rows are there so that the eyelets look like a necklace going around…so I hesitate to take them out next time I make it (and I will make it again)…so I’m considering doing a few extra short rows in the back instead to maybe drop the front neck down a little…we will see. :-)

    I had a project that was holding my needles hostage for YEARS! It was the "Marcelina Cabled Scarf" by Rae Blackledge.... so like you had decided to do on you Korshavn Cardigan, I had done for this project. That "minimal" knitting I would call my "vegetable knitting" 🥦(you gotta eat your vegetable before moving on to dessert 😳) and that worked for me, and after 4 years i did finally get my knitting needles back! It just took some hostage negations of making the effort to work on it every day one vegetable🥦 a day at a time #snailknitting 🐌🐌🐌

    Your ranunculus is lovely, the color is divine ❤ knitting off gauge is a great skill to master and you did it🎉. I have knit 7 of them and although I go down a needle size so gauge is a little tighter that pattern flies off the needles in a few days for me which is one of it’s great features, give one a go on the recommended gauge and you will see why they are like potato chip knits to so many knitters . Have knit 2 Ranunculus and love this pattern. Will omit the Front short rows next time - I want my neckline to be slightly lower and think eliminating the front short rows will accomplish this. So happy to see you 💃🏽and look at that Ranunculus in all of her glory!🎉 it finished beautifully Nora WOW! The sleeves 👚are lovely, I did the same & was my spooky stitch (never did an I-cord bind off on a sleeve) but glad I tried it!
    Your IG photos are magazine worthy so beautiful, organic & all Nora🌹. My version has a strand of mohair😳 gets everywhere while knitting AAAAND wearing, feels great…massive nuisance, 7:26 I was crying 😂 laughing
    About your wip, with the hand dyed yarn reminded me of a pattern I found to use up some of that yarn it’s called Sorrel by Wool & Pine, I think it’ll look flattering on our body type & comes in summer or fall/winter patterns.
    Would you make another Ranunculus?, I’m definitely going too, but more like yours with negative ease instead of oversized. Thanks jfor another awesome video🌹, I miss ya already & going to watch again. Have a great week and hug OSI 🐶 for me tks☀️🌴

      👑 technology 😅 thank youuu! Isn’t that little I-cord so fun?! Thank you so so much, we have so much fun taking them! I shall look into the Sorrel! I would definitely consider making a summer version of the ranunculus! I’m trying to not repeat patterns for a little while, just because of my feelings with the Korshavn and how I’m not so excited by it, but I would definitely try it for the summer!

      @@akaNoraKnits I used Surroro to make the Daily Pullover by Paula Pereira & didn’t use any technique to combine the skeins…I regret it. That’s one thing I don’t like about malabrigo, they don’t have dye lots 🙄.
      I think you’re going to love the Sorrel top. I haven’t repeated patterns either but I want to do ranunculus again bec my version was with 100% linen with a strand of mohair. It’s for cooler weather & I cropped it. I need one for winter & it’s quick to knit up.
