For those friends who have adverse opinions:
1. This is not a proper carnatic music concert, but a thematic concert based on IR compositions.
2. There have been and there are, even today, pure classical compositions in film music, worthy of exploring in a proper carnatic concert.
3. Such thematic concerts can create an understanding of the genre in common people who otherwise shun this art form.
4. IR is no less as a vaggeyakara. It is for time to tell whether his compositions stand the test of time.
5. Lastly, carnatic music as we know today has undergone a lot of changes and it will continue to evolve in the future too.
Ranjani and Gayathri must be craziest of Raja fans. Relived some of IRs great compositions in thro their inimitable style of singing 🎉

I had been hoping to attend this event, but it didn’t take place in Bangalore. After waiting for over a year, I’ve been searching RUclips for audience-recorded videos of the program. And now this... I have tears in my eyes. Long Live the King !!
Singing Isaignyani songs is one thing.. singing just like how he composed is what is nearly impossible! In a classical krithi, singer has a liberty to conceive and give his or her best!! And we, as rasikas, have heard different versions of it.. but isaignyani songs emoted through the extraordinary singers like SPB , KJY, Malaysia Vasudevan, Mano SJ, Chithra, and so many other singers is a lifetime experience and what it makes it impossible is the role the voice has played in these songs.. The master mind(isainyani) always chooses the right person to sing the song.. So one has to render these songs very carefully.. classical touch is absolutely NOT necessary. You just have to reproduce it.. to get there, we need a total surrender to the song😊 hope the sisters take it as a valid feedback and do it with aathmaartham.. full heart.. bcos, music is one field you can never hide any of your emotions.. the mridangist could have done way better.. mridangam gives life to the performance.. so they have to put in extreme efforts to make it a big success and acceptable by ardent followers like me.. mridangam is just not beats, it is a language to communicate with the rasikas....
Dont differentiate music , music is music , we have to enjoy thats all

Do you expect Carnatic musicians to give free concerts? What will they do for their living?
Do not make perverted comments. Theirs is an attempt to bring out the beauty and aesthetics of Carnatic music to uninitiated common people. People spend lavishly to listen to live concerts by famous playback singers. Comparatively it is cheaper to listen to concerts by top class Carnatic musicians in any of the Sabhas in Chennai. Do not ridicule
their attempt.

Can't understand why carnatic audience is so resistant to any experimentation. Classical artists are not mp3 players to parot historic compositions. Let them try out things.🎉

Another two bites the dust :(. Wish the Govt. of India or the likes of Infosys foundation provide these wonderful artistes and many of their caliber a good scholarship and medical insurance, just like the BCCI contracts its players. Being a musician is not easy, requires patronage for their unbridled expression. Finally, its the carnatic sense that's lost. I don't blame them a wee bit, I blame myself for not supporting these great artistes.

You don’t want a male Thamburiain sitting in the back looking at your back ,please make sure it won’t happen again, if it is a male thamburian…..he should be sitting on the side of singers, not in the back ,,other than that the is singing is excellent as usual .It would have been nice with all ladies on the stage behind the singers.
Pl donot kill the great carnatic music like this atleast in future. Saint thiyagaraja did not do it for making money but only for the upliftment of soul with bakthi.
So what .. if you don't like you don't listen. This is very big ego you show on this wonderful composer of this era! And I think comparing with thiyagarajar is not good. But Raja is no way lesser than any other classical carnatic music composers
