I think you might need a break from his heavy stuff so I definitely recommend you listen, and react to, "1990es" and/or "what you want" to put that big, wonderful, beautiful smile on your face. Still am hoping though for an eventual reaction to "Seven sins" which is absolutely 🔥
I dont wish depression or the lessons it brings on anyone but I also share Rens view that "going through the dark, makes you very capable of wielding the light" (source: Rens 1mill subs thank you video).
I can say going through my own struggles has made me more emphatic towards other people.
But yeah, fuck depression.

I've just been finding your reaction videos recently, but noticed you haven't posted anything this year. I hope that it's because you're focusing on yourself and not because of anything negative you were getting from YT. Your reactions are pure and honest and I am here for how these songs hit someone who's been through some of what Ren is singing about.
When you're emotionally ready for it, I hope you check out the live version of Chalk Outlines that he does with Chinchilla, but just know going into it that it's not a light song. It will hit you hard. "Pocket Full of Pain" could be heavy, but there's a lot of hope and positivity in that song, too, so it's worth listening to. If you need some light-hearted music to help you out, check out things like "Down on the Beat," the Love Music series and "1990s." If you decide to try growing your channel, check out his latest song "Trouble" and "The Tale of Jenny & Screech (full version)."

im in recovery from drugs alcohol with mental health issues disability , for nearly 5 years spent time going to rehabs telling my story , i got fed up listening to my own voice , then i was told its not about me , my story could help someone , this is why i love Ren i get it
This is just beautiful art by Ren. The man can take any subject, and turn it into art. Just incredible.
Depression has definitely forced growth in me in the past and if you have it, to use it as a tool is a great way to go but that being said, fuck depression.
My “golden age” that I look back on was over 20 years ago in college. I don’t have hope of it coming back but am content enough with where I’m at. Another great and emotional reaction.

It's that internal self talk. I realised it was just a series of roundabouts that you never get off, just going around and around in your head. The same internal scripts.They become so familiar and to some extent that's why you can sit with the same old sh4t again and again. I would say I also realised that putting those thoughts outside yourself, verbalising them gives you a chance to hear them properly. Gives them depth and a new meaning. Try to talk to share. I think it helps. Fine is o.k ! 🙂 And I totally agree with your thoughts on therapy. Firstly It can work if you are willing to invest yourself in the process and you find the right person who you can trust and feel safe with for that to work.

He feels exactly the way I do. That's so comforting. Someone gets it. That's his gift. He can put feelings into words & music. And make you feel less alone which gives you hope.

Ren's boy Sam Tompkins father attempted suicide last Thursday. He passed away today Tuesday November 14th. I'm so great broken for him and his family...

Have you ever heard "The Abyss" by Dax? It's one of the most powerful songs that shows what depression looks like as well. Highly recommend it. Always love your insight, depression looks very different for everyone, and it's also important to know we're not alone. Still recommending the love music songs (the first one even talks about how to find joy)... just saying.

The only lessons I’ve learned from depression, is that it’s shit! That it might get better, it might ease, maybe, but it will never be cured, ever. Born, put up with, withstood, drowned in, enveloped by, yes; but not permanently cured. We are perfectly imperfect, chipped, broken, battered and bruised, but still currently here. Not finished, not over, not yet. One day but not, hopefully, this day, because there is still love in the world, sometimes this heavy blanket hides it from us, but it’s there! I have that written down and stuck all over my house,on mirrors, doors and cupboards, on my bed and my bathroom cabinet, ‘cos on some days it’s too easy to forget.
