    The “rain rain rain rain” at the end is an inspired throwback to Money Game 1 and 2, only Ren could make a 9 minute movie with a Grand Piano and a string quartet and still make it captivating to a modern audience

    • @tattoodude8946

      And rap over the top of it! A nine minute rap video featuring classical piano and strings? Only Ren could pull this off and make the story so captivating that everyone - young, old, black or white - is enamored by what is on screen. On top of that, this version is so much better than the studio track. He is so much more animated and emotional in this one (I was also surprised there is no phone ring in the studio version). I can't wait to see him in a movie - you know it is going to happen!

    Honest reaction, Tanya. Your "I hate it but I love it" is so relatable. For me, this is nurturing gone wrong, at the extreme level, but seen so often in society, where power becomes the only currency. I see parallels all over the planet, whether its oligarchs in huge yachts, paid for off paying workers low wages and raiding their pension schemes, or multi billionaires flaunting their wealth on space missions but paying staff below living wage. We all hypocritically fuel the wealth disparity by using such services. I love how Ren is telling the money game stories, another masterpiece!

      That’s a great insight thank you. I also think the parent giving advice could be a double meaning. You could take it literal or that the Dad is actually society as a whole. “Yeah you’re successful but not at the top of the list or you’re not the best at that, you don’t have all the power” so in societies eyes you’re never good enough so end up this way in the money game.
      Just my perspective anyway.
      Peace

    I think your emotional response is exactly what Ren wanted us all to experience and think about when we hear Jimmy's story, and for those who have children to think about the values they are being taught.
    We need to pull the bags off our heads and finally see what surrounds us. Ren has already shown that a community, a collective mind, can solve seemingly impossible problems.
    It is only up to us as a society *and* especially as communities to bring about change so that we do not end up as the mould on the petri dish called "Earth" that eats itself.
    Thank you for your reaction. ❤&🤗

      I don't think it's as simple as you put it and Ren has said on many occasions that he doesn't have the answers. Great and impossible problems have been solved without a 'collective mind'. There is a fine line between a collective, being a sheep and being an individual. Nothing is as easy as it sounds.

    • @CirTap
      @CirTap 10 месяцев назад +3

      @@manuelper I did not say Ren provided an answer. Single technological / scientific problems have been solved by individuals or small groups either by research or by accident. I don't see the issues with and in societies (of which the "Money Game" takes a top place) being "solved" yet, definitely not by some individual.
      Yes, it's not that simple.

    You hate the truth of it - the reality of the world we live in, the honesty. But the art, the message, the warning...
    Ren, like many of us, has taken a step back and looked at what we are becoming, he is just better at putting it into words than most.

    Your kids will be OK Tanya. The fact that you care and you have empathy is enough. Keep doing what you're doing.
    I totally get that love it and hate it feeling. It wasn't so strong for me on this one because I knew that it was filmed in the UK, and even though the gun looked real there was no way it was. Lots of Americans have a more visceral reaction to it. I had a really strong love it and hate it reaction to Money Game part 1 and Violet's Tale. Something about the threat of violence to others really gets to me.

    It's been pointed out that the ending is open to interpretation since you didn't hear a gunshot but rather a click. So one could argue jummy had to kill the greedy side of himself. Anyhow, you gave a great reaction. I think you need some positive, feel good vibes from Ren so I hope you do his song "Humble" next and "Seven sins" somewhere down the line.

      The click could have been a misfire,dud round. Then maybe Jimmy regretted it and a chance to turn his life around.

      Click or flick remember part 1 - pretty much the same sound and effect.

  • @kevingallant8073
    @kevingallant8073 10 месяцев назад +1

    What is important is that the story of Jimmy illustrates the folly of chasing money at all costs. It makes people do terrible things to others and themselves. In this case, Jimmy realizes that his wealth means nothing and that he has nothing else. His decision to pull the trigger illustrates how detrimental his previous actions were when he realizes the damage he's done.
    Also, you have to remember, there was no bang. Ren purposefully left it as a click. It is the end of Jimmy as we know it, but it is up to us to determine whether Jimmy killed himself, or survived to become a changed person.
    In his promo for the release, he had a bunch of riddles based off the 7 deadly sins to win money, and the final stage (greed) was that one person would travel to an island, and once there, they were given an option to take 5000 pounds and keep it, or burn it to open another case. The money burned.
    That other case turned out to be filled with sea shells.
    Ren's point was that the collective riddle solving prior brought benefit to everyone, and this is how we can replace the corrupt systems we have. The burning of money in hopes of getting more only illustrated how the solo mindset we follow today is destructive.
    So Ren is ultimately hopeful that if we stop and work together collectively for a greater good, we can avoid the tragedy of Jimmy.
    But he sure takes us on a hell of a ride to get there.

    To me one of the most important concepts in this is the idea that money is just an idea -
    it’s a tool, we’ll always have some medium of exchange but it becomes a problem when the tool becomes the goal or worse, the sole basis of power.
    Kids can understand the difference if it’s explained & it looks like yours have a really great mom, to help them get it. 👍🏻
    Good for you for seeing this all the way through & being honest about it.

    Anxiety will cripple you as many of us here know. The question is why focus on the whole world and all of it's problems. That's just too big an ask for you alone to fix. You I would suggest need to focus on yourself first. That's not being selfish which many of us are taught to believe, but time for you to grow and become stronger and to meet your needs. Does Ren's work help with that growth or does it for now just reinforce your negative thoughts. Be gentle with yourself. Great reaction as always.

    • @TachyTanya
      @TachyTanya  10 месяцев назад

      Thankfully Ren's work doesn't add anxiety or reinforce negative thoughts. I do struggle with both though - something I've been actively working on for many, many years. I wish it was as simple as the snap of the fingers. But when your childhood was built on trauma, it takes a long time to work through. Throw in chronic illness that makes you feel unsafe in your own body daily, and it just complicates the healing process. I am trying to be gentle and compassionate with myself - I promise! I appreciate you :)

    Tanya, it’ll be cool. My heart is almost broken, due to a daughter, almost 19, who hasn’t spoken to me for 3 years. I think she thinks she hates me, but… anyway - we parents worry forever about our kids.
    Ren, is fantastic, but he hasn’t had that experience of unconditional love for a child - it’s like explaining forests to fish - they can’t get it.

    Money Game part 3
    my thoughts sorry this is a bit long...read if you are up to it. Thank you
    When he put the prop gun to his head my memory flashed back many years past when one of my brothers was in his room holding a real gun to his head, I didn't see that part, my mom did and she slowly and carefully got it away from him and with out turning around she called me over to take it and hide it away. I held that thing in my hand as if it was some venomous snake about to strike, with two fingers on the grip I carried it to mom's room and held my breath as she talked him down. My brother was ill, physically and none of us knowing for sure from what, until the coughing and blood became obvious. He spent two years in hospital in Florida, where we were living at the time, in the tuberculosis ward. The TB he contracted from his father when he visited him. After that visit awhile later our dad was in hospital for TB, none of us knew then that my brother carried that virus, several years later, just percolating away in his lungs. Of course all his family and friends were tested, lucky no one got it, since most had been vaccinated years before. After that ONE time, only one time in my entire life I ever touched a gun, any loaded hand gun. I never went near another one since. I am now 74 years old and hate guns because of the insane way some people use them, either for good or for ill, there is never a reason to own a gun. That is my own personal opinion, others may disagree and spout all kinds of reasons when saying they are safe, and fun or for security. We don't live in the wild west of old, but maybe we still do. I will still never have a firearm in my home, ever! My brother did survive many years, then last year at age 83 passed away from dementia complications. Other than all of that, the whole story was outstanding! Ren of course outstanding. ♥ A quick and condensed life of one man with a father that only cared about money, what about Jimmy? Did his father ever show pride? I don't think so. I know my father never showed pride in any of his 6 children. No amount of money will change people's minds that are already full of greed. Money can and has done some wonderful things, in some cases, unfortunately it's a shame that goodness should have a price on it. Needs, wants and greed has been the decline of humanity. I get closer and closer to my "end of days" and think I am glad that I will no longer be around when everything has collapsed completely. I always wondered what I will be missing when people finally "get it"? I don't think I have to wonder anymore. There are still way too many humans that are just greedy. Just like Jimmy's father in this case.
    Where is the pride in Jimmy by his father with all he accomplished. After the good stuff Jimmy went off the rails and daddy dismisses him and I believe thinks him a loser. I think I know someone like that, selling lies seems more profitable for greedy and those hungry for the 'green' and the gold, and for the power it can bring.
