Residency process and citizenship programs in Argentina are totally sperate processes. Citizenship requires you live seven months of each year in the country for two years. And then apply. Takes thirty months total. Contrary to popular belief naturalized citizens can renounce through the courts. But not those born in Argentina. Perfect country. Lovely people. Great weather. Economically awesome if you have money from outside the country. Probably a great time to invest. By far the best country to get a second passport. And no language test. Citizenship in Argentina is a declaration of freedom, of not being a slave. Different than most countries. Even with criminal record you can get.
@@Kitiwakethe people are not racist. The immigration system has a bit of racism hidden… but it will not stop you from getting citizenship. My lawyer says that there is some hidden racism in the immigration system but you can work around them easily. It is a lovely country with people from all over. 🎉❤
They always seem to forget to mention about the mercosur visa which applies to citizens of all member countries of both Mercosur and Andean Community who wish to reside in Argentina. The only requirement to obtain this visa is to pass a background check (no minium income or proof of means required) and it will allow you to live and work in Argentina for up to two years. After that term finalizes, you will be eligible for a permanent residency. It doesn't get any easier than that and it is a great option if you qualify.
This is completely what I need. We are here in Argentina and looking to live here half of the year in the future. We know all about the laws in Ecuador (the other half year). But, it is really hard to find up to date info on residency and taxation for extranjeros. It's a shame that there's no investor visa just for bringing funds or buying property. We are building a house, and it would be nie if that was out qualification. I'm afraid of becoming a tax resident as they like to tax on global wealth and don't have a duplicate taxation treaty with the US.
Thanks again Nomad Capitalist R&D team for uploading videos on both channels every day. I watch both every day. The "Passport World Cup" video is funny. It's good to see Andrew interact with the team
Do you think the path to citizenship could become harder if many people start moving to Argentina and obtaining residency permits? I really like the idea of living there, I guess I have a little FOMO.
@@Kitiwake No, don´t come here to Argentina, to the person with African origin I would recommend an African country like France, Germany, or the pirate country.
Does Argentina have citizenship based taxation? After im naturalized, and move else where, will i have to pay taxes to Argentina even if i dont live there?
This is an excellent question. I'm not an authority and am still investigating their taxation. I have heard that it is based on the Spain model and there's no treaty with the US to avoid double taxation. And they want to know about all your international holdings. People I know here say, just like buying property, there is a black and a white side to impuestos. You declare a bit, and conceal a bit and everyone gets along. Even in the legal docs to buy a house, you declare only 50% of the value and pay taxes on that. The government is cool with that, as I guess they get more than if everyone just lied. It's wild as a North American

With the constant inflation and economic problems in the country, how tough of a job do I have to start a business in Buenos Aires as a Brit? Currently brainstorming international trade but am aware of the constant changes within the system, high taxes, rocky government, Falkland issues being British etc. I want to make the move in 2026 so have a couple of years to get things in order before making the move, any advice is much appreciated.
In Argentina you will not have a problem even if you are British, an nation that is an old enemy of our country. Even so, you will be well received, Argentina has been a civilized nation for hundreds of years. You can come calmly, British, but you can also tell your Government to return the Malvinas that they stole in 1833 and we still claim with great Justice. Greetings from ARG.
