I really like this one, probably my favorite so far! Is this the popular consensus amongst you guys? I would assume it might be, but you guys have listened to this album many, many times by now so it's always interesting to hear what you think :)
Definitely considered one of their best.
So many to choose from, depends on how i feel that day.
"Reckoner" and "Nude" are my faves ^^
That's a big YES, and that goes for a lot of Radiohead fans. Like every other song off of In Rainbows, this one gets better and better with each listen. Love your reactions, and I can't wait until the next one!
For me, the best Radiohead song
Somehow this album, especially this song and Weird Fishes, just seem to keep getting better and better with age.
For me it happens with every Radiohead album.
"Reckoner Live From The Basement"
is brilliant
Agreed, it is practically flawless
i agree, it is - but i did note that the FTB version doesn't have quite the same strong vocal harmony from Ed in the middle section - I think the album version is "made" because of that harmony, among other things, and the FTB version is diminished as a result of not having it.
It is - i love it, but i think it sorely misses the lack of backing vocal harmony, which i think really elevates the album version.
The thing about this album is that it sounds intimate, subtle, it takes a lot of emotional and musical comprehension to fully grasp what they did, therefore it grows on you. You will find yourself coming back to listen to some of these songs whenever you go through certain moods. Some of them sound apocalyptical but in a beautiful way, even hopeful I would say. You will cherish that hope and cling to it and eventually, it will become your personal favorite album of all time.
Didn't know of radiohead before this song. It literally stopped me in my tracks when I heard it playing. Just stood there watching the TV it was playing from. They became my favorite band that day and it hasn't changed.
The outro to this is fucking sublime.
Yes, I always found the fade out frustrating !
Reckoner is like a song you hear in a dream and never remember again when you wake up. Its absolutely dream like, ethereal and powerful. Three elements that characterize Radiohead sound. I also has a deep meaning behind it. Just as a dream. Its actually mind-boggling how they can make something so ethereal and convey a song that makes you forget time entirely . Forget time just as in a dream. Anyway, happy to see people enjoying Radiohead.
It always brings me back to the first time I saw them playing this song live...what a trip ! Everybody had their eyes closed enjoying the moment . (But I'm not 100% sure, because my eyes were closed).
My favorite song on this exquisite album. Definitely my top 5 of all songs ever. Without sounding too morbid, this will be my funeral song. Not that I’m dying any time soon but I adore it!
This album really took some time to grow on me, and in truth, it was more like it infected me. Now it's probably my second favorite they've ever done.
Dude. You have GOT TO check out their Live From the Basement where they do this whole record... And some other stuff as well. It's fucking stellar, and the vibe....
The vibe just crushes on those performances. I'm telling you, it'll change your whole outlook on the band. Seriously.
They also did the same showcase for their next record, The King of Limbs, and it is also fucking great. Small, intimate setting with the guys just killing it. 100% great.
Surprised you didn't mention the percussion on this one. Glad it made you smile though
I love the explosive percussion at the intro/outro *__*
@@leehiro4840 right, the outro is the perfect end for this song
Radiohead and tool, my GOATS of the 90s. i like it
all the way
Totooly agree🤘
Not just 90’s. The GOATs period, along with Rush.
Absolutely my favorite from them, never gets old.
Knew you would love this one, it's great and has been covered by some popular artists. I'm sure it's been recommended but there is a live studio recording of this album and this is a stand-out there as well.
That is my favorite version.
It’s daft how good they are 😁 the game to play is trying to find a song you don’t either love , admire or just respect for the craft . Been my favourite band for over 25 years and never let me down ✌️
Best song on the album. Maybe best Radiohead song
there are a lot of best songs
@@user-kd9jk9dt8j yeah... but this is the very best.
The only radiohead album worth it
Maybe the best song of all time
@@thepopestar9135 maybe.
Could have easily been the 7th track on Talk Talk’s vanguard and majestic SPIRIT OF EDEN…
One of my faves of theirs since Radiohead
Apparently this song is also an homage to John Frusciantes playing style. (The Red Hot Chili Peppers lead guitarist).
One of their best songs. I really like it.
you should do A Moon Shaped Pool by Radiohead after this one!
Thank you so much for this series. It's wonderful to listen to my favorite album together with someone else that also appreciate it this much :)
one of my all time fav tracks esp to listen to stoned
I love his reactions, this album just does something to you
One of my favorites!!!
😭😭😭😭😭😭 every time
who's here after watching Geebz?
Haha Geebz is next for me.
My two favorite reactors right now
Can't wait til Geebz hears this one. The atmosphere + the strings might make it an emotional one for him again.
@@_CoasterNinja Awwwwright!!
I like to use this song to test out the stereophonic separation of my loudspeakers
Thought you'd like reckoner based on your previous videos. It's one of a few highlights on the album for me! Don't kbow if you intend to bit would love to see you react to 'a moon shaped pool', if for nothing else but the strings. Looking forwards to the next one!
I'd love you do the same you do for tool fo radiohead! they are such an interesting band and have many great songs
There are some pretty cool remixes of this track. I really like the one The Twelves did, I used it in one of my DJ mixes back around the time it was released.
Enjoying this reaction series quite a bit. I’m curious to see what your take on the remaining tracks will be.
Love Radiohead. My favourite band. One somewhat overlooked track is I Might Be Wrong.
love this!
man what kind of camera are you using ? looks awesome
Radiohead challenge!!! Try to listen to them without closing your eyes and getting absolute lost in the music… bet you can’t! It is scientifically impossible when faced with such perfection!!! And if you can it is scientifically proven you have no soul!
I've always thought one of the overlooked things about Thom Yorke's voice is that it has an almost American soul/r&b sensibility sometimes. This track is a great example. So is "Nude". On some tracks, Thom actually owes a debt to singers like Marvin Gaye, Donnie Hathaway, and Curtis Mayfield.
Should listen to song spectre or man of war.
Gnarls Barkley did a nice cover of this one, u may check it out
Yes OK Computer. Yes Kid A. But please, don’t skip A Moon Shaped Pool. It’s a really under appreciated album IMO. I’d put it in front of In Rainbows right behind OK Computer and Kid A.
Existential Reckoning album by Pusifer next ...some of Maynard's best work😁
