You do an exceptionally good job of explaining what you are doing and setting the camera(s) where they can show us what you are accomplishing, which is amazingly excellent work. Plus, I am amazed at your ambition in taking on this rebuilding project instead of starting over and building a new cabin with new wood on a cleared or vacant lot.
I have been watching your videos for a week now, not in order but seeing what the cabin was in the beginning shows me that you are a amazing man. Taking a cabin in that shape and transforming it into the cabin it is now is amazing. Keep the videos coming, they are really entertaining.
I’m so glad you can speak English it makes your build so much better and I have to say it looks like a fun project. Looking forward to the rest of the build. Take care and stay safe 👍😊🌷

This is history in the making for the future generations. It would be nice to be able to reuse some of those materials & incorporate them into the new build, even if it's just a picture frame that you make. Nice job!
You're pretty much spot on regarding the upper logs being in worse shape than the lowers; relatively humid air is less dense than relatively dry air, therefore rises keeping the bulk of the moisture from humidity higher up in the structure... Or at least that's what I understand. Idfk I'm not an air doctor or a physicsologist. 🤣
Fascinating process! I also enjoyed the subtitles- thought it was Finnish, but then noticed the comments and found out that Estonian is also a Uralic language. So interesting.
I'm just discovering your videos for the first time. I'm wondering, what part of the world are you living? I'm in the US on the west coast. Strangely, I'm a disabled senior (aged over 65), but I love to watch this kind of video. By the way, you are pretty good at that excavator and the other big equipment you have. Thanks for giving an old lady some enjoyment.
Hey Sherry. Sorry to hear about your health 😥 glad you have enjoyed the videos. Im from Estonia its a former soviet union state (now independent) in east EU. Wish you good health and fortune for the future 👍
wonderful ! just found this series and subscribed ! I was amazed how you could just pull the walls apart so easy--then I thought oh it's like a toy made here in USA called "Lincoln Logs" where a kid could stack little wood pieces to make a toy cabin. now for # 3 !
Those 2 machines really save a ton of energy and time. You can replace the damaged logs if you are willing to invest the time. Awesome project to have restoring a old house like that.I mark the houses almost like a chess board in the bottom. Start with the letters in the front of the house and add a minus in front of the mark to the other end. On the right side i go with roman numbers. Next to that i add the row number going up. If the log is continuing i add a continuation number in the bottom of the mark. Very well made video! Keep up the good work! Nice to see another Estonian doing youtube videos. Not many out there.

It would have been interesting to go over the ground under the floor with a good metal detector to see what turned up, if anything. I've watched and liked most of your other videos but have been saving this series to watch in 1 go, It reminds me of doing my house but mine is made of 1 metre thick stone walls but the rest wood.
@@tobinprowant8021 I had to put it roughly @the same location. I was told i cant alter the location more then 0,5 meters (1,6 feet), mostly because the property line is about 5 meters from this cabin itself.
Too bad you did not use a metal detector before you moved all he rocks and dirt. That old of a cabin probably had some old coins and such in the dirt around it.

Hello from the Netherlands and thanks for the video. Sincerely, Hollandduck
We want you to show that little underground cave/bunker thing!
Future project, have to finish old stuff before starting new stuff, hope that makes sense. hehe
Dude, great sense of humor. I am in.
Cool project I just started watching.
Hope you enjoy
Love watching you build and your comments are great.
Thanks Paul, hope you enjoy other videos also, if you planning to watch
Loved your videos so much, subbed straight away and now binge watching. Brian D.🇬🇧👍

I do hope your old logs will clean up and mostly be reusable, there’s a lot of good work on the ends 👍😊🌷
Me aswell. I think the logs are fine. They seem solid enough
Looking good. I hope the cardboard labels withstand any rain and moisture. See you on the next one.
Yeah some of them are still on after a year

Nice job, I like how you reuse the old wood
Yeah me too. Thanks
We will see how this big log puzzle comes back together again. 😂Good luck! 🍀
It would be cool to use the metal detector on the property under the house to look for old coins and metals.
Sometimes you just have to go new, but use what you can. Old cabin looks like a Kit Cabin.
Your dry humor is amazing. Sub'd for more!
Great introduction and first video for a rebuild! All the best to you in the future.

Awsome comment man. Hands are tied atm with the foundation pouring. But definitely planning todo that in future.
What was inside the cabin would make excellent garden compost!
We did do that! Good idea
Late to the party but I'm going to finish all parts
I hope you enjoy buddy 👍

I don’t know what I was thinking, I was probably high on rotten wood dust. LOL that really made me laugh. Love your channel.

I've watched and liked most of your other videos but have been saving this series to watch in 1 go, It reminds me of doing my house but mine is made of 1 metre thick stone walls but the rest wood.
Mostly likely would find a bunch of horse shoes
I would've burned the old wood too... but in a oven over 2-3 years of time.
Yup that would have been more efficent
Good video!👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks
Awesome video ants
Hey. Thanks for commenting
ok going to watch gain, Andris. Why? Oh you know nothing of this caliber on and I like the music. And watch you develop your gift as an editor. Cheers
Very challenging to rebuild using the same material. Its like a puzzle
Nice job, but personally I would have kept that wood for the winter months, cut into pieces... kept dry for a wood stove in the garage.
I would never 😅
I watched a lot of vlogs similar to your build. But they are totally off grid. You cn still order materials and will be delivered.
Yeah i rarely order though. If i can fit it on the trailer then i bring it myself mostly. Unless in very large quantities
Those logs look good. I wouldnt like to have removed that floor, it must have smelt awful after the animals 😬
it wasen't that bad, the last time any animals were in there was around 20-30 years, so the house has been sitting empty for quite a while.
Could have used the wood for composting or to create habitat for small animals anywhere on the property 😭😭😭
True
Yea man. You removed the roof asbest as you could.
You wrote renovating. But how i it see it is a break down and then a new one, or not?
That title would look weird and too long lol
musst Du eben fotografieren, da weißt du hinterher Bescheid und findest alles wieder.
Nice job but some wood the old doors saving for storage or fix a table
Only burned that was rotten.
All that mouse poop makes good fertiliser.

Puzzled on one thing, what the heck is an Australian mouse colony?
😆 iv seen there's a lot of mice/rats problems in aussie farms.

I think you need a bit more time on the Yanmar!
A lot more
Why did you burn the wood ? Do you know that the wood is wonderful to improve the soil ? Is it necessary to creat so much CO2 for nothing ??
It was burned on a midsummer day in estonia. It's a tradtitional holiday to burn a pile of wood on this day.
Why not just start from scratch? you tore the whole thing down
Pretty much did
Only reused the logs
Lol you're not restoring it, you're destroying it and building over the new spot.

that's very supportive sir :D
a piece of land under the house after clearing from the old building must be checked with a metal detector for old coins and rarities
Your probably right
